I almost forgot to check the USCIS website this morning but remembered at the last minute and still nothing on the EAD and AP but screw that because...
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Card production ordered.
!!
I never expected that. I was ready for the long wait and was just impatient about not getting the EAD yet.
Maybe that's why nothing ever happened with the EAD? So cheer up my fellow vjers without EADs perhaps the USCIS just isn't wasting time producing things you won't need? My fingers are crossed for you guys!
Good luck to everyone still waiting, I'm sending good vibes for all of you!

Nice!!!!!

Ha, a question I was afraid to ask, why are the kids also put on conditional status, they didn't have anything to do with the marriage. And what happens if the marriage does break up, and the kids want to stay with the USC? What the heck, a nice home, their very own computer, a car, money....
LOL. My daughter will definitely agree. Hubby's the cool stepdad with the cool car and knows all the cool stuff. I have been demoted from cool single mom to a not-so-cool mom to a so-not-cool fobbish mom with an accent B)
That's funny!!!!

Yes, she can divorce, the only thing is when she asks for citizenship it could come up why she divorced so soon after the green card, in which case she would have to bring wiht her to the interview things that support that her marriage was bona fide or why she divorced. But this is the only thing that could remotely turn into an issue, otherwise she is free to go at any time.... I would probably wait at least three - six months before making the divorce final though, if she can stand that much....
Looks like a marriage for getting the green card. Oh well. Pretty soon they will start giving out 5 yr GC. Looks like most of the posts on this forum are from people who immediately fell out of love or had bad spouses after their 2 yr GC arrives.
What a stupid comment. Who are you to judge somebody in that way. Learn some manners!

Its not 2 days Shaman godess, the shots are given in the time of 6 months.
There are 3 doses of the shot, say you take one today on 19th of july, another one will be on 19th of august and the third one will be on 19th january
Who gets that shot? We never did and we were approved in record time. I wouldn't worry about it. Our doctor said it's not required due to the time constraints.

It took about a month for us.I had my biometrics last June 19 and got transferred to CSC last July 10. I think there's no definite time frame between biometrics and transfer. All we could do for now is to wait patiently
. Good luck.

Is there anyone else still waiting for their EAD? We still haven't gotten ours. I'm getting nervous they forgot about it. We had an RFE (2 actually) and I'm afraid they never told the person who put the EAD on hold to start processing it again. I picture it in a dark room at the end of a hall that no one goes down sitting in a pile with other forgotten files.... and it has cobwebs on it.
I havent gotten my EAD....our filing date is March 24th. I know Scott and Marta havent either and their date is even earlier than ours. Maybe we're all on the same desk. Its nice to know none of us are alone worried that our applications are in the trash. I live in New Jersey and my senator's office was really eager to look into the application so I hope that provides some results. We're on like day 120 or something. Last touch I got was 6/23/08....then nothing...and no RFE's.
This sucks!!!!! I can't believe this!!!!! I hope you get it soon...

TO all you fellas who got their EAD card, Could you please share some information. I have couple of questions:-
1) Did you get EAD card and approval notice in mail separate (or they the same thing?)
2)If you got EAD card in mail then what type of envelope was it? Was it from USCIS or was is it a plin white envelope from KY.
3)Same for APproval notice (if it is different then actual physical card), what envelope was it in?
I got EAD approval notice sent e-mail and card production ordered e-mails but never received anything in mail (EAD card or EAD approval notice). It's been more than 30 days and when i called USCIS then they said it's a lost mail because they never received it back from post office as undelivered and hence i have to reapply the whole EAD again????????
So it would be helpful to know what kind of envelope did you guys received your EAD card. Since, i looked at each and every mail for past 30 days and didn't get anything related to EAD. I got my AP document though(incidentally it was approved on same day as my EAD. Go figure that out).
Card and approval letter were in the same envelope. The card was cut into the paper with slots. The return address window said Missouri, but the postmark was Kentucky. I hope this helps.
we'll be having our AOS interview on Tues AUG 12th !!!Excellent... I love the picture of the pyramids

Hi
It all went really well.
First we were asked to stand, and he swore us in.
They asked me my address, and my phone #, where I worked. They asked my husband how we met, and some personal questions, like "when did i know she was the one?" and "when did you ask her to marry you? what did she say?" etc
He only wanted a copy of my birth certificate, and he was mostily interested in ANYTHING that had both of our names on it: we gave him a joint tax return, a joint bank account, and 2 joint credit card account statements, as well as our car insurance. That was it. He looked over some photos, and just had a pretty informal chat with us. Then he asked me if i had been arrested, if I had helped any illegal immigrants/gangs, if i had been deported, etc. and he let us go. He said "Yeah I think im buying into this one", and I laughed, and said "Yeah, well i sure hope so!! lol"
He asked for my I-94, and EAD card, then just threw them away in the trash right in front of me!
I got a stamp in my passport right there and then, and were approved!!!
He printed out some doocuments to say we were approved, and told us to keep them safe.
Voila!
He didnt really ask about current work status of my husband (the US citizen) as he already had all that in the folder from the original application.
1 month to go until my green card arrives in the mail.
21 months to go before conditions can be lifted.
Tick tock.
Thank You for all your help & support throughout my VISA JOURNEY!
That's great news!!!!!!!

10 Year Green Card Received!!! I wish all the best for those still waiting!!!!
Congratulations!!!
But why 10 years? or it is second green card?
As for me.... nothing from USCIS... We mailed the reply on second RFE on Thursday via express mail... I checked through USPS website and it said that package was delivered on July 10th. same day I got 1 touch on I-485 on USCIS website, but it had same message "On June 14, 2008, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, call 1-800-375-5283 to update your address....".... Still can't understand why I-485 got a touch, but there is same message....
Tomorrow we need to call them and check... very confused...
Hi Elmira. It's the first. We've been married since 7/17/2003. Your touch was probably them getting your 864 back in the file. You probably won't get another touch, just your approval. Remember a touch doesn't always change your status. That's why it still says the same thing from June. Hang in there. It will come real soon!!!

I was just on the UK website to see about a visa and one of the requirements was that I have a airline reservation, but not to buy the tickets until the visa is approved. I've never heard of an airline that does that. Can anyone offer some help. Thank You!!
I can't really give you any advice, only that I've never heard of that either. The airlines don't get involved in all that. It is up to UK Home Office.
Looking at your signature, I'm really gobsmacked at how quickly your 485 was approved. WOW!!
It was surprisingly fast. I'm just glad that it's over until the naturalization process.
Well, airlines in Europe (meaning if you are buying tickets from there) do that, you can reserve your tickets but ot pourchase them for some time. You cannot do that in the US however, but if you are a green card holder you should now have any problems getting a visa, so you can go ahead and buy your tickets. You have to be aware that they have changed their regulations recently and you need to get fingerprinted (at the same office where you had your green card fingerprints done nonetheless) prior to applying for a UK visa.I figured that would be the case. Thank You!!!!!!!

It finally came today. Although we didn't wait very long (134 days) the wait we had prior to sending in the papers was a lot to bear. Our 5 year anniversary is in 3 days (7/17) Keep the faith to all of those still waiting!!

Did they send you a notice to tell you that you need to be fingerprinted in a few days? I don't understand how they could've given you such short notice.

Hi,
I would like to ask, I would like to travel to my home country right after my divorce paper. I want to see my mom who is sick. My concern is that my husband filed for divorce paper on July 1, 2008 and it would take three months before it dissolve. I'm still living with my soon to be ex-husband's house. We agreed already to divorce because we cannot get along well because his priorities are his grown children. We don't have child together. I was hurt because as a newly married woman of course I want my husband to plan for the two of us when I have my future child. But I know he don't like anymore child from me as his priorities now are his adult childre from ex-wife. He bought houses for his adult children. And me don't have anything he even told me that all of his money and this house when he died are for his children. I filed for post nuptial instead of me; so that he won't anymore telling me always that I have nothing when I came here in the US as if he just only get me as a trash from my home country. I don't even have money because he don't give me. I'm just like a home servant with no salary here in his house.
We argue one day and asking him to free me as I was always hurting from his words. Many too mention; but if you were in my shoes you will understand me. I do love him and I know I will miss him when we go on our separate ways. Sometimes I know he wants to love me; but when he think about his children his love was gone he easily got hot tempered on me; as if it's my fault why his ex-wife divorce him and his children were separated from him.
My husband is 54 and I'm 34 years old. Twenty years ago his ex-wife divorced him leaving him with nothing. His ex-wife got the custody of the children and his house was granted to his ex-wife. And now he saw his children were grown up who just came from Florida from many years of separating from his children without seeing them. So now as if this is his first-time he saw his children. I felt how he want his family back and his ex-wife. When I arrived here in the US; the first thing that we visited is his ex-wife house. He misses his family.
I cannot do nothing about that I'm the one hurting in this part. I'm newly married; but my soon to be husband's heart is not for me. I'd rather be the one to go far from them. I don't know if my husband will miss me; but he told me he will miss me; but he cannot do anything as his adult children (ages 30 to 35 yrs. old) were his priorities now.
Right after I get my divorce paper I want to travel back home to my country to see my mother who is sick and to refresh myself from hurting and heartaches. It still hurt as I almost cry everyday because I do love my husband but I felt that he only married me for just companion.
I just want to visit 2 months and come back again to US. I want to move on with my life. I just want to refresh my mind from hurting and have a vacation with my family in my home country.
My question is: Can I still come back to the United States; I have gotten my 10 year green card last April 15, 2008 so right after three months my husband filed for divorced. I'm worried if there is a conflict with me coming back to the US.
They might tell me that I just got my permanent resident card then divorced after three months, it's not my fault. And my resident is here in Detroit, MIchigan; but when I come back of course I don't anymore come back to my husband's house. I will live with my Auntie's house in Utah.
Please help! Can I travel and come back to the United States.
Yes you are free. Only on the 2 year green card would you have a problem. I can see why your husbands priorities are where they are at. He probably lost all trust in woman because of his previous divorce. That said, what he's doing to you is not right. I hope when you come back you can start fresh with a new life here in the land of opportunity!!

What is the best way to do this? Should my wife use the name on her green card or the name on her passport when she gets an airline ticket?
SSA told me to go to DHS first to change name??
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted
No, because your marriage certificate is used to show the change from the passport to the USCIS papers
