I can't answer all of your questions, but the advice I can give you is "slow down" These things take time. I had to visit my wife 5 times over the course of a year when she was my fiancee years ago. If you meet someone soon, take your time. I'd hate to see this happen to you again. Visit the person a few times before you propose. You'll be better off that way. I would call them about canceling, there is probably a from you can send in.

Hi. Does a US Naturalized Petitioner have to use their "A" number on the forms or is it no longer valid?
-
Quick question. My friend's fiancee from Ecuador was adopted when she was around 1 year old. Does she have to put the birth name on her G-325A as "other names used"? Thank you!!!

Well we applied for a tourist visa for my wife's younger sister in Quito, Ecuador. They said because she's 14 she has to travel with both parents to the USA.
1) Does anyone know when she would be able to travel by herself?
2) Does she really need both parents to travel to the USA with her?
3) Could my wife or myself, or both of us travel to USA with her?
Thank You for any help!!! I can't find any info anywhere!!!
Who told you she needed both parents to travel?
The guy doing the interview at the embassy. I was outside, they wouldn't let me in.

I know this question probably came up a thousand times already, but here we go.
My wife is from Ecuador.(PerRes) I'm a US citizen. We are going to Ecuador in April/May. I thought that while we are down there to take a trip to the embassy(Quito) or consulate (Guayaquil) to see about a visitor visa for her sister. Is it better for us to be there with supporting documents or to just let her sister go with the parents by themselves? Her little sister is 14 and will be 15 when she comes here. We want to take her to Disney. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

Wow! believe it or not (I still can't!) we finally got our interview notice on Friday night!! We're scheduled for October 24th also. (Maybe we can meet teachmehistory!) Kinda sucks though..right now they won't let me off work the whole day and they are sending us to Seattle instead of Portland for the interview. Everything else has been handled in Portland (15 min from home), but it's a 3 1/2 hour drive one-way to Seattle, and my car won't make it. I'll have to borrow a family member's car or rent one, so this is working out to be a very expensive interview. I called USCIS and they said that there must be a mistake about the interview location, but they won't do anything about it.
It's somewhat of a logistical nightmare for us right now, but we'll be happy if we can get it done and over with. They said the only way to make any possible changes to the interview location, is to make an info pass appt., but doesn't that take about a month to get the appt.?
Good luck today, ddkm!
Finally!!!! I would actually inquire about the infopass. I couldn't hurt to try. Maybe you'll get one in two weeks and be able to change your location. I hope all works out for you!!!

I got some news
According to the website they finally sent me the AP approval on August 2nd
So hopefully the rest of the stuff will follow in a timely manner
I'm glad that you finally have some movement!!!
-
Hello everybody! I received my green card last May of this year and we just moved out from our apartment. My question is, do i need to report my change of address to the USCIS even if I already got my Green Card? Just want to make sure before it's too late. Better safe than sorry. Hope to get your replies soon. Thank you very much.
Rhosie
Hi Rhosie!!! You have 10 days. They need to know where you are at all the time.
-
Okay guess I learned something new then, not everybody gets approved within 3 months like I did.
Gees I cant even imagine waiting 2 years!
It's not that you are waiting for approval for two years, but some of us choose to wait before we even send them in. We probably have the record. (almost 5 years) Yet, after we sent in the paper work she had her 10 year green card in hand in 134 Days. If I could go back and do it again we would've never waited that long.
-
Everybody gets the 2 year Greencard first then after the 2 years you have to do the so called removal of conditions to get the 10 year Greencard.
We never got the two year. Only the 10 year. If you are approved after your 2 year anniversary your are a permanent resident not a conditional resident.

I know that abused women have some options, but I don't think that he has actually physically abused her.
Thanks,
CG
Mental abuse or even the threat of physical abuse is just as bad if not worse than the action itself.

finally card production ordered---though i won't celebrate until the card is in hand.
best of luck to all who are waiting!!!!!
I feel relieved for you. Wow that was a long wait. Congratulations

If you've only added yourself to the husbands account in July, while being married much longer, and filing AOS earlier in the year, that letter may have little weight if any with an IO. It may actually look kind of bad, like you were trying to just get something, anything in time for the interview (in terms of proof).
We got marrried Dec. 07 he tried to get me on the account like a week after that but due to the fact that I didnt have a ss# it wasn't possible, (adjusting from B2 visa)I just received my SS# at the end of June....
so I don't know what you are trying to say here!!
Bring proof that you just got your SSN. That should explain why you didn't have a joint account until recently.
-
curious...if someone had a tin issued to them yrs ago (for tax purposes) b4 receiving ssn & aos what happens to the tin # and anything that was associated with that number? should it be turned in when applying or ssn?
The ITIN will be rejected and replaced with the SSN. You have to send them a copy of your SS card along with a copy of the ITIN notice that you received. Send it to the PO box in Austin, TX on the ITIN form. Start using your SSN. My wife just got the letter from the IRS canceling her ITIN. We used it to file 2007 returns. No we will use the SSN for 2008.

Finally received Green Card
 Thanks God to typo or something else
 Yahoo!!!!
Hey I predicted that it would be in the mail today. haha!! I'm so happy for you!!!!

Personally I would not leave the country until I had my greencard in hand, even with Advance Parole papers.
As Pushbrk stated: What if the GC is denied after their interview? You stated that their application was in review - doesn't mean it's approved yet.
Or, what if the applicant is called for a second interview and is out of the country and misses it? The application will be deemed to be abandoned and you've got a whole world of problems to deal with.
Sorry to sound negative but unless the trip outside the US is absolutely unavoidable I would stay put and wait for the decision.
I agree! We waited until her greencard arrived. We wouldn't even dare leave the country on AP. Too risky!!!

HELLO EVERYONE!
I just wanted to share our happiness! We just got my husband's green card in the mail after only 3 months of filing and without being appointed for an interview!!!!
It was a big surprise for me when I found an envelope from USCIS for my husband! I thought it would be the Notice informing us of the interview date and imagine what I felt when I saw the Approval Notice and Welcome to United States of America!!!!!!!!
The I-485 approval letter stated that my husband would receive his green card in the mail within 3 weeks, and it surprised me when it arrived next day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are very happy now and will file removal of conditions in 2 years.
God bless America and all of you!!! I hope things are smooth for all you guys, I really wish you all the best!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck and best regards!
Vivian and Michael
Very Nice

We are tight on cash, and I was wondering how long you can wait to file? Akram is here on K1 which expires September 2008 and we were married June 19th, 2008
Any help appreciated!!
Thanks Mena
Hello,
I guess you both should start your AOS before the 90 Days are over, the Day the Visa expires and he would be Illegal here. Not the best start to become a lawful citizen.
My Lawyer told me that you have 90 Days to marry and fill for the AOS.
That would be the "correct procedure". It's often stated wrong here, as a lot of people do it wrong.
And they are lucky most of the Time. But like I said MOST OF THE TIME! I would not gamble with it and respect the rules and laws
Good luck to both of you!

OP, online case status is not always accurate.
Your I-130 cannot still be pending if you already have your 10 year green card. I'm guessing they just haven't updated your case status on the website yet.I called National Customer Service Center (NCSC) (1-800-375-528), and they told me that I-130 is still pending, I don't know if the employees of NCSC see the same "online case status" we could see through https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/login.jsp.
Who could provide you the "real case status" of the application? :S, I am so confused with this.
I wouldn't trust too much what they say. The customer service center has an average IQ of about 80 combined!!!

Vow, congratulations to those who have been approved !!!
Great News~~~~~~~

It says to put 1 year of tax transcript and 1 year of w2 and if you think it will help your case 3 years. I was wondering if I could send 3 years of tax transcripts and only the last year w2? My employer charges $15 per past w2 and I can't find the past ones on my pc anywhere.
Also a different question, on my wife's vaccination documentation it shows Td or Tdap as "not routinely available" does that mean she will need that now? Just wondering because if that is the case I will get it before we see the Civil Surgeon.
Last question, if there is a mark that says "Insufficient Time Interval" will that be ok, or will she have to get the next set?
I sent in one year of returns and just filled in the previous 2 years' income on the sheet. No problems at all.

Hello guys. I hope that someone can help me. I have a friend who came to the US from England when she was 4 or 5. She came on a visitor's visa but her mom married a military man and he filed for them. She says that her PR expired when she turned 21 b/c she was no longer a military dependent...I thought they didn't expire. Here is a little more info she gave me through e-mail:
"As far as I can remember, mom's husband (the military guy)did do the paperwork for us, I have a permanant resident alien card, that I was told expired when I was 21 because I am no longer a military dependant, just like my military ID card did, I just didn't find out till last year...when I looked up what laws I could find that seemed right. I entered the country on a vacation visa I think and we stayed and got green cards, I remember the day we took the picture. I have a social secrity # and license. I don't know what else I can tell you about that."
So what do you guys think?
She is married to a USC and has a duaghter. Does she file and I-130 and AOS based on marriage to USC???
TIA
She should just renew her green card. And then apply for citizenship. You can't adjust status if you already have a green card. Even though the card expires your permanent resident status never expires.

Hi... My Wife's Aunt's Fiancee just received a letter from the NVC informing him that they will forward out his paperwork to the Consulate in Ecuador. However. her last name was misspelled in the letter. All of the official documents from USCIS were correct, (NOA 1-2) Is this something to worry about?
