    hello

I picked up my passport yesterday with visa on it after a long wait,

but then when I checked the package I didn't find any sealed package with my paper and he returned all my papers,

I've done some homework and I found they could send it through email, but they give you annotation and I don't have any annotation in my visa

    please help

    us embassy in Algeria

it’s mostly done electronically now, as you say.

check at the bottom just to the right of your photo. Can you see it say “IV DOCS IN CCD”?

That means the docs have been sent electronically.

    Hi,

I am helping my friend renew her permanent green card. She came here 23 years ago under CR1 visa (spousal visa). Only her husband knew which POE she entered, however he passed away few years ago. I have attached the picture of her POE stamp but don't know the POE code. Trying google CBP for the POE but none matching. Any inputs about the POE are appreciated?

    Thank you.

    hi

From that pic, it shows the POI was ‘NEW’ (that’s the airport code)

a quick search shows that to be a regional small airport serving the New Orleans region (lakefront airport)

    does that seem feasible?

    Hi guys,

I need an advice. I am visiting my boyfriend in the US who is a US citizen. I am on my B1/B2 visa, and I am on a vacation from my work. I was planning to go back to my country after 2 weeks, but this time we decided to marry. We have read about the AoS based on marriage, but we also know there is a CR1/IR1 visa option for married couples.

So we don't know which one to do - I stay here and we do AoS? Or we get married here, and I go back to my country and we start the IR1 visa process?

    Which option would be better??

    Thanks for your help!

do you not have an apartment to give notice on? A house to sell? Possessions in your home country? A car? Etc etc

if you AOS you potentially won’t be able to leave the US for almost a year! What happens to all those things?

Dear all who had their interview in London, If you had to travel from afar where did you chose to stay please? Which hotels in what areas would be better thanks.

the US embassy is a fairly short walk from Vauxhall train/tube station (on the Victoria line). Find a good priced hotel that works for you and your other travel and use the tube if you can. It’s pretty straight forward. Good luck.

My family are thinking of traveling from the Philippines to Hawaii and stay there for 2 days to pick up some relatives before we travel to California for my wedding.

I know K1 Visa will not allow me to leave the USA country again until I get a greencard, but I wonder if it can be used with traveling from one state to another before&after you are married.

once you’re in the US (any state) you are in the country. No one will ask or check your status again. You are free to move around any of the states as you wish to travel or marry.

I am a grad student on f1. I'm subleasing an apartment off-campus and I'm not listed on the lease. For immigration processes like the H1B visa application that require a history of address proof, what kind of documentation should I gather to avoid any complications?

drivers licence? Any bills you pay? Bank or credit card statements. Registered to vote? Etc. lots of other options. What official (ie government or banking) mail do you receive at your address?

Greetings,I have a friend who lives in Finland and wants to visit me in the US on a B-1 visa. She has lived there for 6 years. Her original country of origin is Dominican Republic. Do I need to contact DR for anything or just deal with Finland?

    Thanks,

Hi. Why would YOU deal/contact with either DR or Finland? She is the one who will apply for the visa so she will be the one doing the application and contact etc. Nothing needed (or you can even do) from you.

    Hello all,

Does anyone have an experience of an interview at the US embassy in London? As part of the proof of relationship/marriage, does the officer who conducts the interview would like to see just the boarding passes or both the emails from the airlines and the boarding passes?

I have huge folders of documents, proof, and photos to take with me and I’m not allowed a big bag in the embassy.

    Thank you everyone.

Don’t forget they already know how many times and when you last entered the country etc on their screen. The questions are often just to check your story. They don’t usually ask for any proof of ticket etc

they often don’t want to see any of that - you’ve already submitted it electronically. Obv take it, but they asked me 3 questions only. When did I last see my wife, when was I last in US and where does she live. That was literally it and I was approved.

you’ll likely be surprised how little they want to see in London. It’s a fairly low fraud office so far easier than some.

Plus then just a copy of my police certificate, birth certificate, marriage certificate and my passport.

nothing else relating to the relationship.

Apologies for the late reply we’ve only just received some sort of answer all be it not very useful. The lecturer confirms that the +1 can be for pretty much anyone including friends and relations. They apparently will not have the full documents until April so that is likely when we will know more.

Going by what you’ve all said there are no visas that allow for this as a true +1, so could this be a situation where the +1 gets a whole un-related visa and just lives with the other?

Apologies if that sounds stupid I have no idea about any of this and no idea where to look.

hi. Any update? Curious to see what the college have said

How strange, I wonder if it depends on the doctor. Ours were only 6 months ago ish, and none of us were even asked about it, both doctors just ticked the box to say we had a 'varicella history' even though it wasn't on our medical summaries. I had a photo of my son with spots on his face all ready to go and everything. 😂

Yes, Very interesting.  Mine was in aug last year

OK.  Yes, your response confused me.  Unless it's Canada or maybe Mexico, the US Citizen most likely has passport stamps for entry to the foreign spouse's country, and the foreign spouse's passport would be stamped OR an I-94 would be available for any visits to the US.  Also, if the OP would complete their profile, it would be helpful.

I was also just pointing out that my British passport and my wife American’s one were never stamped when we entered each others country for the last 5+ years

This feels like a really silly question, but how did everyone print their passport-style photo for their interview?

The print-outs from the photo booths here in Spain are too small. Is it okay if it's printed on regular printer paper? Or does it need to be glossy and professionally printed?

do you have a shop in Spain that prints photos? If so they might also do passport pics. In the U.K. I went into one and when I said I needed US visa photos they already knew the size. They then took it with a camera and then printed and cut to size using a cutter they already had. Was a little more expensive than a Photo Booth, but only like double.

My magic number is 27, and 9 per page.  Photos are secondary evidence though.  Your primary evidence of being together are passport stamps.

This is useful if you get your passport stamped. Not sure whether Canadians/US get that.

my wife and I didn’t get stamps in passport for years due to using egates or global entry so my U.K. passport going into US or her American one going into Uk never got stamped.

    Understandable.

How would I be proving someone had to travel out of country for our wedding? Would I be posting their ticket?

I do have all the recommended photos and required documents for proof of bonafide marriage. Just stuff like lease, insurance and so are missing as we don’t live together yet.

We haven’t known each other for a long time so we don’t have much old photos, but plenty of different photos at different occasions with different people.

Questions, if you don’t mind answering. We would appreciate it.

How many pictures would you recommend? Did you label them with who’s on the photo? Give a description? How many photos in one page?

I’d say I’d have about 30-40 pages of PDF which would include everything, how would one upload this huge file? Do I need to write a cover letter for each item I have? For example, my bank statement which has both of our names..do I write a small cover letter before the statement stating that on the next page we have our joint account which we put some of our savings in for our future so and so

If not, How many pages of cover letter would you recommend for the main page? And what are they very key important points are needed to be added.

thank you once again, we greatly appreciate it.

We didn’t live together and had nothing combined like finances. But all approved without issue as I posted the pics plus hotel receipts and flight tickets with both our names on to 3-4 different locations

I mean just write who is in the photo and say like “mum and dad who travelled from Montreal” or whatever.

this is how I did ours. Hopefully the photo works. I had about 8 pages like this which I made on word doc then saved as pdf

I'll be contrary here.  I say skip the affidavits altogether.  Actually that is the most common advice here on VJ regarding affidavits.  At best they are useless, but more likely to simply make you look desperate. You are seeing this as one of many options listed after these words, "In addition to the required...." (so not required)  and "one or more of...."

Newlyweds are wise to concentrate on actual evidence of time spent together in person, and examples of how and how frequently you communicate.

I would agree with this. I could write an affidavit saying I knew you, but what would that prove?

photos are very strong evidence. Do you have some from your wedding? With friends and family on too? That’s excellent if so - especially if some had to travel out of country to your wedding.

honeymoon? Receipts (plane, hotel) and photos again are strong.

I would focus hugely on this. We were together a long time before we got married (despite being nagged at constantly..!) so in our photos you see us getting older, greyer and fatter!! No one can argue with that!!!
