It sounds like you have a lot of work to prove up your relationship.

I know someone who did, now the gap was not as big and no children.

As always it is the totality of the circumstances that matter. The fact you are both Muslim helps

Just so you know this sort of situation is not normal in the US so you will inevitably attract extra scrutiny.

No,   i recommend the spouse visa CR1
    K1 is more expensive
K1 takes as long as CR1
K1 is often denied (for calling the person my wife)  and then u have to marry and start all over again
Our countries are harder on K1 petitions /mine was denied in 2009 and we had to meet and marry 2010
  7. Thanks

This likely made you ineligible for a K1.
The unofficial marriage and age difference will be huge obstacles to overcome.
Marry and go the CR1/IR1 route.

I believe every couple should be fully informed before making such an important decision.  There have been numerous couples who changed their minds after discussing the differences.

getting married is not a problem because we have already done it by hand not official like the African tradition hand I wanted to know if we have a chance for the k1 or?

So..you are using your brother's account?  That is not allowed.   It is free to create your own account.  It will cut down on the confusion.

It isn't criticism.  It's an observation after being here on VJ for 7 years.  You are free to accept or ignore the advice of members.

Neither is fast.  Both processes will take at least two years from start to finish.  For high fraud countries/red flags, spousal process may be better.

If you've been persisting in referring to fiance as "wife," your K-1 could well be denied.

*****Moved back to the K-1 Process and Procedures forum******
Do not submit any evidence which refers to "wife".

They said partner "came to Turkey" doesn't mean beneficiary lives in Turkey. Most people in MENA countries refer to their partners as husband and wife regardless of legal status. It is cultural thing.

Your USC wife should join the group as there is a lot of information she needs and guides here to follow
At this point it is the USC who does the petition and needs to follow the proper steps with supporting docments for the CR1 spouse visa
If u are not married , u must stop referring to her as your wife as the CO seeing this at interview will think u are married and deny k1 saying "too married for K1"  costing u a lot of time and additional money

From Africa countries she needs to spend quality time with u to have what immigration calls a "real relationship"  ;;if married,a bona fida marriage"

BTW K1 is the more expensive visa to pursue

Which is fine to give a friendly heads up if that is an actual issue. But not treat it as some crime or red flag because person who might not be well versed in nuances of USA bureaucracy used culturally appropriate to them term. Site is meant to be helpful not antagonistic.

Since you are already married, you cant get a K1 visa. You need to apply for a CR1 visa
  22. Thanks

Are you already married? If so, you will be doing a CR1/IR1 visa, not a K1.
