  1. That's right! Looking into getting a re-entry permit for the next year.
  2. Is there someone specific you'd recommend from Fragomen? Thank you!
  3. Wondering if after activating US permanent residency at the border, if anyone has stayed outside the US for more than 6 months, but less than a year - and if there have been issues with that when you return to the US? I know you need a re-entry permit if you're absent for more than a year, but it seems like a grey area when it's between 6 months and a year? We're trying to save up some more money before making the move, but obviously don't want to compromise our status!
  4. Hi all, we activated our green cards at the Alexandria Bay/Thousand Island crossing on Friday - all went well with no issues. We drove back to Canada and will be moving permanently in a few months. I understand our Green Cards will be mailed to the US address we provided - what about SSNs? We checked that we wanted social security numbers on our DS260s, but wondering how/when anyone has received SSNs after activating?
  5. Hi all! We're going to the border to activate our green cards tomorrow and just want to make sure there aren't any documents we need to bring in addition to the packets from the consulate and our passports with the IV inside? I've paid the USCIS immigrant fee for our actual green cards and have the receipt for that. Is there anything else anyone was asked to show at the border?
  6. Hi @AA-H! Can you confirm that you had no issue returning to the US with the temporary green card stamp?
  7. @Froozion Did you cross the border yet? Hope all went well!
  8. @Aaron_ Is it possible you could confirm where this info came from? My immigration lawyer told me today that once you activate your the temporary visa in your passport, you can't cross the border again until you receive your actual green card. Does anyone know that this is for sure incorrect? (Really hoping he's wrong!)
  9. We also just picked up our passports with the visas inside and our sealed packets to bring to the border.
  10. Just received my tracking info as well!
  11. Still waiting for my tracking number email as well. Assuming it can take a few days?
  12. @AA-H Amazing!! Are you shipping with Canada Post?
  13. Our status just updated to issued!! Congrats everyone! Our interview was Sept 16.
  14. Has anyone's CEAC status changed today? Mine still says Refused. Our interview was Sept 16th, hoping to hear that people who had interviews earlier in the month are being processed?
  15. @Froozion No it was: Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov I was so surprised to get a response from them!
