Got notified by email today (the 9th) that our oath ceremony is scheduled for the 25th (16 days from now). Very Pythagorean!

Hey All - I wanted to update this helpful thread on my experience. I had my interview today -8th Aug, in NYC and was approved and in a couple of hours I got the oath notice on the website for 25th Aug. The interview took less than 10 minutes. First the officer did the reading, writing and the civics questions. On the N400, he asked 
Full Name Do I want to change my name? Date of Birth Was I ever married? Where do I live?  What work do I do? Did I ever owe taxes? Did I ever serve in the military? Describe the club that I was a member of? And how long I was a member of. Was I ever arrested? And then the three Oath of allegiance questions - support constitution, bear arms and noncombat services.  And that was it. The officer didn't check for travel, tax, no word definitions. I felt very lucky and also a little anti-climatic for all the preparation I had done. But better to plan for the worst and hope for the best.

Now, onto getting the oath and getting that passport..

Either that or order a  copy of the entire tax return from the IRS.  https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf says up 7 years back, and the form lets you list 8 distinct years.

Some notes while it's still fresh
 
- traffic fines do count. Bring evidence of payment
- the number of times you've been married includes your current one - so when asked how many times your spouse has been married, it's 1 not 0 😅
- if you ever owe money to the IRS, even if you pay it immediately and has no payment plan they want to see evidence of payment. So bring the Account Transcript from the IRS for the latest year showing a balance of zero
 
Thanks @Mike Ed for suggesting bringing tax records! We didn't submit the account transcript initially, but my wife's interviewer was kind enough to let her give me a call so I can send it to her then she uploaded it. I had all the transcripts downloaded just in case but initially only submitted the Tax Return ones per IRS guidance.
 
Since we requested legal name change, we'll get our oath appointment later. Otherwise looks like they do ceremonies in the same building too (Chicago Field Office)
 

I applied from the Houston office, i believe they are very fast with processing.

Today i became a US citizen and the journey has come to an end. I cannot be more thankful to God for a seamless journey. I wish everyone in waiting God's speed.
 

I had my interview in Irving, TX too. They sent me the ceremony letter 5 days after my interview and tomorrow is the naturalization ceremony in Plano center! 🤩

Joining in on the conversation as our N-400 process has been much, much quicker than anticipated. 
 
My husband filed his N-400 application under the five-year rule on March 6, 2023. 
He had his biometric appointment shortly after on May 12, 2023.
Received his appointment notice on May 19, 2023.
Attended interview and recommended for approval on June 23, 2023!
 
This was all done through the Dallas Field Offices with the interview in Irving, Texas.
 
We are awaiting to hear back regarding his Oath Ceremony.  Could not have made it through the last seven years without this community and using these resources!  Wishing everyone success and happiness through their own journey.  It was a little surreal checking that final box on the timeline knowing we've made it through!

Writing this to make you feel better. I filed N-400 on February 11th, San Francisco local office. Still waiting for an interview even though there're other February filers who already got their interviews scheduled in the same field office. I also personally know several folks who've been waiting since October-November last year to be scheduled. Some offices just schedule randomly. One thing I've noticed about San Francisco is that they schedule those who filed under 5 year rule first. I filed under 3 year rule with a pending I-751 so I expect to be waiting a while (even though it is annoying as hell).

I’m Indian too, if that helps. I don’t think that makes a difference in the process. I applied around 3/15 and had my interview on the 13th. I’m in Kansas though, I’m sure yours will come through as well! Hang in there

Hang in tight! FWIW in Chicago, I see other cases that filed three months earlier than us (in December) getting similar interview dates (in July), so... we don't know what are the factors involved, and there is nothing to do but wait.

Try not to check too often - I normally just check weekly, and otherwise I just try to put it out of my mind.

Had my naturalization appt today, APPROVED! It was super easy and smooth. Goodluck everyone!

I am in Brooklyn, NY. I just received a notification that My interview is scheduled for July 19th, 2023 at 26 Federal Plaza, New York, NY. I’m in shocked that the application moves so fast. Now it’s time for me to study. 

Patience is the key! But when you see others in the same Field Office getting their interview letters, it’s only natural to get a bit nervous, as to what’s wrong.
