  1. That would be "SuperMan of Attorneys, if an attorney if they can get the 2 year limit waived Is he the same attorney that represented OJ Simpson?
  2. Just to follow up I had advised him not to go back to Philippines until he was a 100%. In case he needed medical attention he would more than likely not leave Philippines alive. I was stuck in Philippines hosptial from late May to early July, it horrible compared to USA standards, cats roaming the halls, old equipment and lack of equipment, they never gave me oxygen after surgery, I got a bed sore and the private hospital gave me diaper rash medicine to apply. My wife had to stay in my room 24/7 and pay for all medicines at the pharmacy and take them to the RN to adminsiter to me, that is the way hospitals run in the Philippines, She bathed me, feed me, changed the sheets daily that is why they make you have someone live in your hospital room 24/7. My wife bascially never left the hospital room for 2 months. I got back to USA in July of 2023. She had to send her sister to immigration everymonth to pay for a visa extension so I wouldn't get black listed from returning to Philippines, my one month trip turned into a 3 month trip, I had to have the same operations done again in USA since they botched it in the Philippines, I couldn't fly home which I was hoping to do, due to my injury and have the operation done in USA in the first place. My wife will be coming back to USA next month, and we won't return to Philippines until I am 100% healed and can walk normal again, I suspect that won't be for at least a year. I will take a short trip to Cancun in October and give a test run to see how I can walk.
  3. Good luck getting someone to pay in civil court, you may get a judgement, good luck getting paid. Been there done that....... I been burned already, now of day for me I just lein the property, it make take a year or two to get paid but I get paid.
  4. Can you give the cliff notes, that the short versions The federal court made some one reimburse the US Federal Government for getting federal assistance? Or this was more of a divorce court ?
  5. Actually from reading a few of his posts that are spread out. The wife just got here like last week for her husbands surgery via emergency tourist visa from Philipppines. Now he was asking about having her just stay her and adjust, from his other post he as planning on going back with her to Philippines in like 3 months after he had his surgery.
  6. No doubt it isn't allowed, Did I ever say it was allowed? Nope never did, don't know why in the world you are even copy and pasting my post. The OP had already said like 12 hours ago she was aware it was illegal to come to USA on B1/B2 with intent to adjust, Did you not read that from her post? It was something like this : Crazy Cat Said : You cannot enter the US as a visitor with the intent to stay and adjust status. That would be visa fraud. Be prepared to show proof of your strong ties to home country. OP demonjonis answered : Yes I'm aware of this. I was just making note of the fact that I've recently come across some people doing this, when their original intent was to go and just visit as normal and go home to finish the process but for whatever reason, they have switched to AOS. I know intent is determined at the borders by an officer so just wasn't sure if switching was even allowed at all.
  7. That was for like for divorce court?, I was aware of that, but it seemed like it is rarely used I want to know where the US Federal Government went back to a sponsor due to an beneficary getting like public assistance, and made the person or company who signed the I 864 pay back. Or am I missing something? I didn't read it 100%.
  8. I was wondering how she got a tourist visa being married, now it make more sense to me Sounds like the poor fellar was in pretty dire straits.
  9. I just re read his post. He was having some kind of heart pump surgery and given only a few months without the surgery, His wife applied for an emergency tourist visa from Philippines so she could be in USA with him for he surgery. She was quickly approved. She just got here and they were gonna go back to Philippines like 3 months after surgery, I suggested he stay in USA due to the poor medical they have in Philippines until he was like 100%.
  10. Agreed, And being from the Philippines, I was shocked she got approved, and also shocked she wasn't offloaded by Philippines immigration since they tend to not let younger females leave the country alone unless accompanied by a husband, unless they have K1 visa or work visa. Usually tourist visas get screened pretty hard and removed from the flight.
  11. OP said his wife just got here he posted on March 11th , and she was planning on leaving in September, So I guess she got standard 6 months stay.
  12. It's allowed, I just read some guys post and his wife from Philippines just got to USA on a Tourist Visa and they are now planning on just having her stay and adjust status. He was planning on going back to Philippines with her soon, but I advised him to wait for a while since he as having surgery in USA soon. I wasn't aware that was allowed but is a really nice option
  13. I fly quit a bit from Dallas to Seoul or Hong Kong and onto Manila, I usually book thru Delta. I fly Korean Air Prestige First Class so I can lay down and have plenty of room. They feed you about every hour on the plane, you get like champange and snacks when you enter the plane, I am not a drinker for the most part but its a nice gesture. I get it for the leg room and the comfort for me. I don't see tickets getting any cheaper in September, I usually fly in April and October and I try to make it as few stops as possible for me as well. I can go from DFW to Seoul and onto Manila Philippines and usually cheapest I can find is around $8,000 US Dollars per round trip. I have already priced out July and October and not much of price difference in those two months. This price seem to be the going price for the last year or so. Last trip I took was May till July and paid a little over $8K per person for me and the wife.
  14. I travel Korean Air from DFW to Seoul, it's about $7K to $9K per person round trip. If you get refundable tickets it could be double that price. So if he is looking at roundtrip prices that prices could be inline, I always book thru Delta website and Korea is a flight partner and you get the Prestige Class which incudes alot of perks, and it's not crowded at all and the best thing is you can relax you seat into a bed and I am 6' 3" tall and it fits me which, and I am weigh around 225 lbs
  15. I am looking at Delta Air lines and they are giving prices in Hong Kong $, you have to convert to USA
  16. Maybe said person needs to fly first class with seats that fold down 180 degree and lay down, due to medical conditions, that is what I am getting from reading about the part.
  17. I did alot of research when I signed, it's basically a worthless piece of paper one signs, whether it be a individual or a business for a like H1B visa Federal Court Cases are a matter of public records, there is no such things as " It's not something the government talks about" , the US Federal Government has website where you can search and download all Federal Cases. We live in the USA not Russia
  18. I have a few under my belt Thankfully I was young when they happened and we never really had that much to split like money or vehicles. I am in community property state and learned how to protect my assets now that I am older and wiser.
  19. Not really, I have seen marriage partners where the the other person drained thier bank account and put them into debt with credit cards. It was cheaper to bite the bullet and divorce them. He is in a community property state like I am. It's very easy to protect your assets He was only married 2 years, so have your bank accounts where you keep the majority of your money in a seperate bank account from your spouse, have them established before marriage and don't comingle funds and your money is safe and can't be considered community property. I had a house, vehicles and boats all in my name before marriage, went thru a divorce after a few years and all that was considered seperate property since it was all owned before marriage. I came out smelling like a rose Now with my current wife we only established one bank account together and we opened it like the week she arrived and I think I put $1000 when it was opened and never messed it it again, we only did it for K1 for immigration purpose only so she could get her Greencard. I went ahead and bought a new house before I did my K1 visa this time so it will be mine in case we didn't work out, My wife is from Philippines I wasn't sure how she would adjust to USA when she first got here and I wanted to protect all my assets.
  20. You don't go out and pull money today and file divorce tomorrow, You plan it out, you take you time, you protect your assets and then you pull the trigger.
  21. Find and attorney that deals only with divorces Lawyers are a dime a dozen now of days, some will take a case just for the money and not have any or very little actual case work in that area. I think California Bar Association allows one to apply/get a Legal Specialization certificate. The California State Bar will certifiy attornies as specialists who have gone or trained beyond the standard licensing requirement. I would find one of those type lawyers.
  22. Your case is easy, Quit working clean out bank account, No property makes this a no brainer. Hire an divorce attorney and get your gameplan and hopefully the court will award you alimony.
  23. Gotcha Interesting deal for sure
