It may not match up if you sent it via RM - for DX you get a specific tracking code usually that is linked to your application. But all you can do is keep an eye on your application status and see if it changes. Good luck.

Consular processing is now your only option anyway. It would be better for you to petition your stepson as then he’ll be an immediate relative so it will be much quicker. If your husband did now then as said above it would be a F2A category application which takes longer (until your husband gets citizenship, but I’m guessing that would be at least a year away). What do you mean it doesn’t show anything? When you log in to CEAC what does it say? It sounds like you’re just expecting things to happen too early, as there was no visa available to you until 1st January your case wouldn’t have been added to the interview queue until then. But check your status and it will say when it’s in transit, hopefully you’ll get an IL in the next month. Good luck.

Unfortunately, nothing to do but wait it out. A verbal approval means nothing, just keep an eye on the status and hopefully it will change to ‘issued’ once AP is complete. Good luck.

Average cost of giving birth in the US would be far higher than visa costs though (https://www.forbes.com/advisor/health-insurance/how-much-does-it-cost-to-have-a-baby/), and if there were any complications that cost could skyrocket. If the OP has the financial means to do that then that would be a neat solution, but it doesn’t sound as though that is the case.

And just to add that if you don’t get your physical GC before June, it’s easy to get an ADIT stamp - which is basically the same as you’ve got now in your passport but just extends it for another year. It’s free and they usually just mail it to you. Good luck.

What age is permission no longer needed? If the OP’s youngest is 15 now then they could be 18 by the time they get a visa, or close to it (and could then delay things a bit if needed). Or is permission still needed up to 21?

Interestingly, I’ve just gone to check the backlog report and can’t find it. I know that they have been making good progress and the backlog recently reduced for the first time in a decade (it had been steadily growing up to that point). Most think that the backlog will grow with the new administration so I wonder if they’ve got rid of it for that reason, or perhaps they’ve just moved it from the usual page. Who knows!

Unemployment is very low in the US at the moment, but none of that is relevant anyway. Ah. Yes, you do need original/certified copy docs for some things, although it’s DCF it’ll be the same document requirements as usual - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html And in the meantime, if you haven’t already do start gathering the rest of the docs i.e. police certs etc. Best of luck.

If she’s graduating next year and you haven’t even started the process yet, then that is unlikely to be an issue - as said above the whole process takes 2 years as a (very) rough guide.

Montréal is the only consulate in Canada that does immigrant visas. Is the address your own or a friend/relatives? If it’s your own then it will help.

Those don’t show domicile, plenty of people have US bank accounts or relatives there but never set foot in the US. So you’ll need more than that, but have a hunt around the Canada sub forum for info on how to prove domicile to Montreals satisfaction. Best of luck.
