    The process time is up to you - if you submit your documents quickly or not. Interview wait once DQ'ed is long in Islamabad. I'd expect at least a year, possibly as much as two years if the backlog is still lengthy. A search of the forum will show you recent timescales. You'll know at the time if it was successful or not, but extra checks are common in Islamabad so it's possible that even if you're told it's successful, somebody else will decide more checks need to be done before a visa is issued. 6 months from the date of your medical. HTH.

    What phone do you have? If it's fairly new (iPhone 12 or newer for example), then you can have a physical SIM and an eSIM. I have both and have each number on all the time so I can get texts/calls to both, but I switch the data between them depending on which country I'm in. My plan is SIM only, with Smarty for the UK (the physical SIM - which I'd had for a couple of years before I left the UK, and just turned down to less data when I left, on a month rolling contract), and ditto with Mint Mobile for the US (the eSIM - set up before I left the UK so I had the number to give to people before I moved). Both work brilliantly.

    That's good, no aging out to worry about at least! Don't suppose she'll be able to apply for citizenship anytime soon? It would speed things up a lot if she were a USC.

    And then it will switch to 'taking longer than expected' at some point too. Honestly, it's utterly useless and I don't know why they bother, it just causes people stress.

    For EB3, no job offer = no visa. Why does your employer not have a job? After they've spent all the money and time to petition you? If they aren't going to have a job for you, then yes, you'd need to start all over again.

    I don't see what the point of sending an email would be tbh. The visa quota being met isn't anything to do with the consulate, it's NVC and was announced on their website and media. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/annual-limit-reahed-in-the-eb-1-category.html But if your status doesn't change by mid October, then I'd be chasing it up.

    Refused isn't the same as denied. Refused just means it's in Admin Processing i.e. waiting for checks.

    Yes, the NVC case creation and document review is the same no matter which country. The timescales will on the NVC processing times page when you get to that stage. But after that an interview is scheduled and that's where the difference is - some countries are only a couple of months from DQ to interview date, others are a couple of years. No idea where India falls between those, but a search of the forum will tell you. Good luck.

    If you were told 3-4 weeks then why are you worrying? It's only been 9 days! What does your online status say?

    It won't be processed at a field office, so use the 15.5 months as a rough guide but bear in mind it can change and timelines can get slower or faster depending on demand. The overall timescale will also depend on the wait for an interview at her consulate, that can vary hugely. The I-130 is only the first step in the process. Good luck.

    OK, that is unusual then and I can see why that would look suspicious. Generally the advice for a tough consulate is to meet several times before applying. I agree with the above, marry and try again after visiting more. Best of luck.

    What exactly does your online status say? Does it say payment has been received? It can take 90 days to get the card so I wouldn't worry about that but just check your status to make sure it's acknowledged the payment. I also wouldn't worry about the SSN, my daughter wasn't in the system either and had to order hers manually, it seems that's quite a frequent occurrence. One stamp is normal too. Hopefully you're worrying unnecessarily, but just check your stamp to make sure it looks like the one above, and check your status too.

    Another vote for GE, it's so easy. I can be at the car in the airport car park within 10 minutes of getting off the plane, it's a breeze. If you have an Amex card then check to see if it's a benefit of it - a lot of cards reimburse you for the fee.

    I don't think you could sue them for their AI being incorrect. But what is it that you think is wrong with that?

    Every case is different, but only once she actually is eligible to apply for a visa - and that's a long way off as said above. It's a shame that USCIS approved the I-130 so quickly as that may mean her child ages out, but all you can do is keep an eye on the VB and see how things progress over the next decade or two.     Good. So they’re two completely separate applications, not linked in any way. So you need to submit I-864 for each application, and everything else twice too (marriage cert etc). Good luck.
