is there no place to write "student"? or explain yourself?
i'm in the same boat here!
-
it's been 4 months and there has been no change or update in my case status online. when can we (or can we) expect to see a touch, update or anything?
thanks, guys

i can see now how language might be a much larger barrier than i originally thought. being on this forum, you don't hear relationship problems a lot, but the nuances of dating someone from another country are certainly a big deal.
thank god i'm dating a canuck!
-
yeah tell me about it. the closer we get on igor's list, the further away our adjudication dates get!
originally we were to be approved dec 25th-jan 1st
NOW it's the ridiculous feb 9th-march 4th!!!!
effin SUCKS...

well thanks for your input, everybody. this process has made me pretty jaded. i dislike not being completely in control of things. the process is self explanatory but you could get denied for any damn reason at any point in the process. i wish it were more fair somehow. like an interview over 3 days or something. more personal. but i guess red tape is all about the hive mind and lack of emotion.
everybody have a good holiday and hang in there...

i don't know if anyone asked this before i couldn't find it, but my fiance was just told by a lawyer that one of the conditions 4 the fiance visa is that we can prove we've been together for 2 years?!
i would really appreciate it if someone could let me know if that's the case.. thanks lots!!
well you have to prove that you've met at LEAST once in the past 2 years.
pictures, tickets, etc...
AND proof of an ongoing relationship: phone bills, IMs...
-
like, really mean? what does it entitle us to? seems like it's just one more bureaucratic hurdle and doesn't mean much. nothing is really approved until you can prove your fiancee isnt going to be a bum and you have the interview. so why am i made to think this is exciting?

grant and i are HUGE cure fans and we met in 1999 in a cure chatroom. i was dating someone else at the time and g told me "if he ever breaks your heart- i will be right there to sweep you off your feet".
and he did.

oh my lord.
when i checked igor's list were were down to 187 from 230!!!! then like, LITERALLY 5 seconds later we were back up to 226!!1
WHAT GIVES?!

If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
i REALLY appreciate your offer. you'll probably hear from me closer to the noa2!
there is a consulate in every major city in Canada but only Vancouver and Montreal handle K1, K3 and Cr1/IR1 interviews...thanks for the information! you would think places like ottawa and nyc (where i live) would have consulates that handle everything!
-
im sure both of u couples will get ur noa2 prolly beginning of dec dont worry its not much longer now
AUGH! what is going on with your case?!!?
-
i hope (selfishly) that you guys get your noa2s STAT because mine is going through vsc too and i see we are a few weeks behind
-
Check Igor's List.
There have been a lot of approvals lately. Things seem to finally be taking off!
God-willing they will start moving fast & FASTER & approve us all already!!!!
I can't wait! Good luck on your journey!
God bless!!!!
I hope you are right. Because I am still waiting...
i see you are past due :c i hope you get your noa2 ASAP!!!
on igor's list we were up 5 places from friday. so there's been SOME progress
-
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking...but I think I know...it's basically the same reason that only two USCIS offices process K-1s. Only two consulates do K-1 interviews: Montreal and Vancouver. Your interview location is determined by where in Canada the beneficiary lives. Western-ish side=Vancouver, Eastern-ish side=Montreal. I hope I understood your question and answered it well.
it was EXACTLY what i was asking- thank you!
i ask because it's going to cost us a lot for this trip (i am going too!) and since ottawa is the capital, it seems like the obvious choice for a consulate. i just wonder why there isn't a consulate in every province to make things easier
thanks for the quick answer!

umms....what about the health of the petitioner? i have bipolar. will this cause a problem? :c
-
i'm curious about the paperwork for the sponsors...
i do not currently have a job as i am disabled. my parents have said they would co-sponsor (and make well over 125%).
if i were able to hold a part-time job, however, would both my parents and i fill out a form?
thanks in advance!
Your situation is identical to my best friends situation on their visa. I am no expert but what I can say is how things went for her. She was unemployed and a full-time student. She filled out the I-134 form for herself and then had her mother only co-sponsor for them. Her fiance did not have work at that time either. Everything went totally fine and they have been married for 2 years now. If you search around you can find alot of what other people have done. I am having to get a co-sponsor myself because of my student status. Good luck.
oh wow. no problems for them at all? you've made me feel a little bit better- thank you!
when can we expect to see updates/changes in case status?
