  1. well thanks for your input, everybody. this process has made me pretty jaded. i dislike not being completely in control of things. the process is self explanatory but you could get denied for any damn reason at any point in the process. i wish it were more fair somehow. like an interview over 3 days or something. more personal. but i guess red tape is all about the hive mind and lack of emotion.

everybody have a good holiday and hang in there...

  2. i don't know if anyone asked this before i couldn't find it, but my fiance was just told by a lawyer that one of the conditions 4 the fiance visa is that we can prove we've been together for 2 years?! i would really appreciate it if someone could let me know if that's the case.. thanks lots!!

well you have to prove that you've met at LEAST once in the past 2 years.

    pictures, tickets, etc...

AND proof of an ongoing relationship: phone bills, IMs...

  3. I agree with you  ..There have been lots of approvals lately and in fact i am one of those,an it means VSC start moving fast..God bless you all guys...i know there will be lots of approval this month....

oooh! approved in 3 months! CONGRATS!!! i hope we have such great luck! :wow:

  4. If you have any questions feel free to PM me. :)

i REALLY appreciate your offer. you'll probably hear from me closer to the noa2! :star:

there is a consulate in every major city in Canada but only Vancouver and Montreal handle K1, K3 and Cr1/IR1 interviews...

thanks for the information! you would think places like ottawa and nyc (where i live) would have consulates that handle everything!

  5. Check Igor's List. :) There have been a lot of approvals lately. Things seem to finally be taking off! :) God-willing they will start moving fast & FASTER & approve us all already!!!! :D I can't wait! Good luck on your journey! ;) God bless!!!! :)

I hope you are right. Because I am still waiting... :help:

i see you are past due :c i hope you get your noa2 ASAP!!!

on igor's list we were up 5 places from friday. so there's been SOME progress :dead:

  6. I'm not exactly sure what you're asking...but I think I know...it's basically the same reason that only two USCIS offices process K-1s. Only two consulates do K-1 interviews: Montreal and Vancouver. Your interview location is determined by where in Canada the beneficiary lives. Western-ish side=Vancouver, Eastern-ish side=Montreal. I hope I understood your question and answered it well. :)

it was EXACTLY what i was asking- thank you!

i ask because it's going to cost us a lot for this trip (i am going too!) and since ottawa is the capital, it seems like the obvious choice for a consulate. i just wonder why there isn't a consulate in every province to make things easier :) thanks for the quick answer!

  8. i'm curious about the paperwork for the sponsors...

i do not currently have a job as i am disabled. my parents have said they would co-sponsor (and make well over 125%).

if i were able to hold a part-time job, however, would both my parents and i fill out a form?

    thanks in advance!

Your situation is identical to my best friends situation on their visa. I am no expert but what I can say is how things went for her. She was unemployed and a full-time student. She filled out the I-134 form for herself and then had her mother only co-sponsor for them. Her fiance did not have work at that time either. Everything went totally fine and they have been married for 2 years now. If you search around you can find alot of what other people have done. I am having to get a co-sponsor myself because of my student status. Good luck.

oh wow. no problems for them at all? you've made me feel a little bit better- thank you!
