I see with some men....they want their cake and eat it too. They want the marriage for the perks and for how it looks to theirs family back home but they also want the freedom of being single and seeing other women...and as a wife they want you to be ok with it. I don't think in all cases its a scam for immigration...I think they are just bad husbands. Any one can make promises while in the honeymoon stage but when the reality of day to day life sets in...that's when real character shows...in both spouses.

My husband is pretty much ready 24 hours for me, lol. I am kind of person do not really like to be around many people especially new people. My husband's coworkers are nice and in fact when I went to military party with him, I sometimes got sick because of smell of alcohol or cigarettes ( neither my husband nor I are smoking or drinking). That's why most of times, we spent our times together.
Don't get me wrong. I am very friendly person, . But, expand a new circle of friends is really difficult for me. I am more solitaire.
When he went to work, I made myself busy. Watching Netflix, writing my blogs, writing articles for Indonesian online website, or playing with my cats. Those activities definitely made my hours fly so fast in that day.
You need an open talk to him heart to heart. Newly wedded couple usually facing difficulty how to adjust each other from their old habits. That's why before we got married, we went through marriage counseling twice with the chaplain on the military base.
If both of you are really wanted to make this marriage works, please be consider to meet a marriage counselor. Probably your husband will listen and trying to change his old habits. I am feel so fortunate that my husband does not have kind attitude of being a bachelor even though he had never been married before and neither I. We were adjust very well at this point so far.

On reading the guides....I see that my husband is supposed to bring original documents (marriage cert etc.) to the embassy interview....but I sent those with the IV packet to the NVC. Wasn't I supposed to do that?

    It's slow here on weekends.

Nothing is ever the same so someone will come along with a more current update.

I would rather take a little longer and be more sure of approval with a CR1 versus a K1 with red flags and previous filing.
You would have to list your specific red flags and gap time of divorce and new relationship an times/length visited, age gap etc. for
us to give you better advice on CR1 over K1.
The time table for a K1 currently runs fast for CSC (1-3 months with some as fast as 2 weeks and very slow for TSC (5-7 months plus).
If your K1 gets refused and returned it will expire an you have to start over.
With a CR1 you have a chance of rebuttal for a NOID/NOIR letter and a good chance for being reaffirmed.
My motto is slow and steady wins the race, it is more of an endurance obstacle course. Forget wanting him here as fast as you can, look at
your red flags and do some reading in the Lagos embassy reviews.
    It's your gamble. Good luck.

Don't get fired up and do nothing now is the time to do something my manicurist mother travels back and forward to the phillipines all the time on visiting visas and you are right others are not scrutinized like those out of Naija...I think something needs to be done about this...I have written and written and marched before for immigration reform a lot of people are scared to write or say something out of fear that there petitions will be denied but rest assured I was not I wrote and marched and when in Naija I confronted individuals at the embassy and this was while my case was processing I wasnt protesting or confronting those about my case in particular because we had no issues I was confronting for those after me that had to go through such red tape. I am all for immigration but I think it needs to be consistent across the board.
