$1344 JFK to LOS via ATL.

KLM and Turkish Airlines have options closer to $1200.

Used ITA On The Fly app to check prices on a range of airlines.

Bless you. That ITA is awesome. So excited. :dancing::goofy:

Yeah, from LAX, mid-Jul, looking like $1800-2500. Try booking for a Tue/Wed departure as it can be cheaper. Use ITA for info, but check airline website for booking. Best of luck.

ive never seen them so high. my last ticket cost me 1000. sheesh. is it cause im looking while in the month of march? no matter what month I search for...its crazy

I dunno … never been to Lagos, but I've been to South Africa and the flights have always been expensive from USA. I once constructed an itinerary through Amsterdam with one of Europe's discount carries for the AMS to South Africa leg, which was cheaper, but since my company pays for business travel … I opted for the direct flight for convenience and shorter transit time.

Still, less than the whopping four grand you noted in your original post!

They Kayak.com also . Sometimes airlines post wierd prices to discourage the 419 scammers from making fake flight plans. Years ago if you looked at Delta online for flights it would show 3000 plus for a flight but if you called them it was really about 1/2 that. If there is no exact date you need to arrive / leave most sites have a +- 3 days search

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Just looked at Kayak and mid july is coming in at 1581 from LAX via Iberia airlines but only an 1.5 hour layover which is tighter than I like at an international connection Slightly more expensive one has 2 longer stops If you are in southern Cali be sure to include the "other" airports

thank you. I really hate more than one stop because of the exhaustion at the end and also more chance for lost luggage however it is better that 2-4000 lol
