I and my wife have been nervous regarding this process as we had been asked for an RFIE for her birth certificate (the same one we used to get her in the country was not enough information for the 485) and were concerned this would lead to a rejection.

Got word on Monday night her card was printed and yesterday official confirmation her case was approved.

    Here's the timeline from USCIS:

February 27, 2024 Case Was Approved February 26, 2024 We ordered your new card. January 31, 2024 We received your response for Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. December 27, 2023 We sent a request for initial evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. December 21, 2023 The fingerprints relating to your Form I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, were taken. November 29, 2023 We accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. (Mailed on the 15th of November)   Hope this puts others' minds at ease.

My datapoint may be old (AOS in 2019-2020) but I put "To be determined" or something like this instead of concrete dates. I got AP + EAD combo.

However, I heard nowadays many people never receive AP even if they filed for it.

I wonder if it is to do with certain government agencies processing influx of other immigrants through southern border and don't have the capacity to do other types of cases.

    Hi all!
Update- got my EAD/AP combo card in the mail on 1/25.
On 1/26 morning- USCIS status updated to i-485 being approved!

Quick question: If I wanted to travel while awaiting green card delivery (I expect this won't be for a week or two), would I be allowed to re-enter the country with AP/EAD card despite i485 being approved (but no card in hand)?

Thanks for all the support and wishing everyone a speedy approval!

Aren reacted to Mike E in Does the raised seal on a Certified Copy of Divorce Judgment be on all pages?
On my all 3 original sealed copies of my divorce decrees, the seal is neither raised nor on each page.

I used the electronic decree (which had no seal at all) for I-129F.

For the K-1 interview, the CO did not ask for it.

For the I-485 interview, the ISO wanted to see the original and accepted it.

For I-751, the decree was not sent.

For N-400, the ISO did not ask.

If your state or county does not put a seal on each page, and your ISO or CO insists otherwise, then you will be at an impasse and will have to find another way to be together.

So happy to see fellow Ugandans!!

I think the frustrating thing about this whole process is the absolute lack of clarity or order in the process. There's no information given about why anything is happening the way its happening so we can't even be sure it's a country priority thing. Fingers crossed they get in touch with you soon too.

We've sent the general inquiries form and emailed NVC directly with a copy of our NOA2 and with both instances they said they didn't have our file. It really is a luck of the draw thing. Has NVC shared your case number and invoice ID then so you have a way of tracking it? That's so frustrating. This is yet another thing that I'm anxious about.

The whole process is an elaborate exercise in patience 😅

I actually just tried it and it works. It needs to be on the Live Chat feature, with an actual Customer Service Rep. I asked them if our case has been sent to NVC yet. Apparently our case was only transferred to NVC on April 17th (😒 we got our NOA2 on 28th Feb) so it's been sitting at USCIS this whole time! The CSR agent couldn't tell me why, it was part of the "normal process". NVC hasn't received it yet as of the last inquiry we sent last week on Thursday 20th, they got back to us on Fri 21st saying they didn't have it.

When I asked the agent when we can expect NVC to receive it, they said within 90 days! 😅😭 So I guess someone's trekking across the country with our file.

    The wait continues 😬

I'm starting to get a little discouraged, I've seen March NOA2s already receiving their case numbers. How are USCIS and NVC working this out? 😔

We're going on 8 weeks now, still no word - and the NVC inquiry response is still that they haven't received our petition from USCIS.

Folks, this legal-immigration process is dysfunctional at best and broken at worst.  The tension and frustration become unbearable, seemingly with no way to fight against it or relieve it.  Please remain unfailingly supportive of each other.  Remember that if you hold one pencil and snap it, it will break; conversely, if you hold a handful of pencils and try to snap them, they'll remain undamaged.

Remember, too, that those of us who are finished with this infernal process are hoping and praying for your progress almost as intensely as you are.  You're not alone, and you're never forgotten.  Take comfort and find renewed strength in this.

That is pretty unfortunate for you.
Beneficiaries from countries that are in the Visa Waiver Programme can (usually) visit their fiancé in the US (through ESTA) unless a border official denies them. I have been in the US twice since we have filed the I129f - when asked about my fiancé, I told the border officials that we have an open petition - no issues to-date.
