  1. yeah don't waste the money. i rly don't think anyone will have a more complicated import than ours. though ours passed everything and has import papers, but got "totaled" before actually registering it (it is very drivable still, no problems dumping it if we have too) so i guess gl to us, that happens next week lol. and yes of course im gonna try

  2. no, i already had those years filed anyways, since i worked in 04, then stopped but had joint filed with my ex. so i just brought those to the interview, and that seemed to make her happy cuz I took off to canada in 07 so obviously I didn't work (I didn't do DCF, I went sent my I-130 to USCIS since I didn't have status in Canada). She wanted to add that to the 221g but I handed it to her and said it was fine.

But, since your wife has PR status in Canada, she should have been filing taxes in the USA for how ever long she has been working in Canada. So if she hasn't, she should go back for at least three years. I am not entirely sure if three years is the magic number, but check out the DCF forum, because I think I have read that there before.

  3. I think when you give them your wife's I-864 with everything it needs, you should be ok with the other stuff as well. I sent a I-864 with mine, but with a note saying why I haven't filed since I didn't work, and it was fine at NVC but the interview lady was tripping out, so I just gave her what I had from years 04-06, which made her happy. I think they just like to make sure you're ok with the IRS lol

  4. upack is when they drop an empty "cube" that you fill and they move it. here is their website http://www.upack.com/

and as far as customs, i know you're supposed to, but they didn't even ask us (we did cross not too long after xmas so we got free junk) and i didn't say anything. they didn't even bother looking in the back of the uhaul. they just asked what we estimated our total value was and took the list we made of the stuff in the uhaul and that was it. i guess its because we crossed on a record cold day in houlton maine. i thought they'd at least ask us to open it up, but nope. thing was packed as much as possible anyways lol

  5. well me complaining seems to work. get 5600 and keeping the former rcmp suv. woooo its either that or get an extra 900 bucks, and that is just foolish since i can take it to the junk yard and probably get more. sweet. it is semi drivable, but gonna see how safe it is and what minimal repairs would need to be done to drive it. i <3 that blazer lol

  6. plz hold for a ###### fest...

i posted a few weeks ago about a nice little car accident we had. well, of course the car that we bought 4 days before moving to USA (about 6 weeks before the accident) is going to get totaled. fine whatever, just sucks cuz I don't want to go vehicle shopping again. anyways, the adjuster is being a cockbag. won't return our phone calls, won't tell us how much they're going to offer (which im sure is going to be a joke anyways). the truck is sitting at the autobody shop because the adjuster called them and told the dude there to tell us that he isn't paying storage fees and that we have to, which isn't true. so the battle begins. already contacted the california department of insurance. oh and as im posting the phone rings, im sure this will be real awesome. edit its just his supervisor, who won't do a damn thing

  7. well, she can contest a divorce, but you also don't have to go to her interview (if she gets one soon). she can refile on her own after a divorce, but sounds like she wants to drag it out. let her dig her own grave. just keep on going with your divorce. as far as sending in a copy of your filling for divorce, i really don't know. up to you on that, maybe DM can clarify

  8. It will say something about sending a checklist to you. take a look at the top of this forum, there is a list of the AVR messages. sometimes its a false RFE. so I guess if you're getting that message, call and speak to someone, they can let you know.

  9. Hubby is from St. John's Newfoundland, which is the first english founded settlement in all of North America. and apparently, its the cloudiest city in all of canada, and wiki says it only gets a total of 1,497 hours of sunshine a year. I think its pretty accurate lol.

  10. as long as he's talking about the actual place and not the people, i wouldn't worry too much. maybe he just doesn't like it there. maybe he is being sarcastic. the canadians will jump on me, but i don't say much good about newfoundland canada (where my husband is from) cept maybe nice to look at, but really, it just wasn't for me. my husband doesn't seem to be offended, i think he's just happy to be out of the snow almost as much as i am

I think I would take it personally if my Husband's friends stated that people from my country will marry an American - regardless of the age difference - just to come to the States - I don't know if you read the whole post? I'm also sure that they wouldn't be friends of ours anyway, but if they were they wouldn't be anymore.

Sorry you are feeling homesick as well charisse.

As for your view on NFLD wowswift, I can't see any Canadian's jumping on you about that. I am sure you have seen the posts about different places in the U.S. in the Canada forum - Canada is not for everyone :)

bcoz most of his friends were saying that filipinas marrying americans no matter what the age differences so that thaey can go to U.S and experience a good life.i cant help thinking my husband downgrading me and discriminate me sometime :crying:

ahh yeah, i missed of skipped that part. id be a little mad too.

and i was being sarcastic about you canadians lol. i like the people there, just not the small town in nfld lol.

  11. You know I find this sad also, I have been here in the Philippines with my wife working her visa for over a year. The stories I will be bringing back to the states with me will be about a friendly and courteous people, who no matter what their circumstances still maintain a happy and joyous spirit. Taking hardships in stride and always looking on to tomorrow being a better day. the standard of living or some of the living conditions are not what should be remembered about an American's stay here. It should be the proud and resourceful people that they encounter. You have every right to be upset with him and if i act like that with my wife I would have a beating coming and deserve it!!

as long as he's talking about the actual place and not the people, i wouldn't worry too much. maybe he just doesn't like it there. maybe he is being sarcastic. the canadians will jump on me, but i don't say much good about newfoundland canada (where my husband is from) cept maybe nice to look at, but really, it just wasn't for me. my husband doesn't seem to be offended, i think he's just happy to be out of the snow almost as much as i am

If you understood Philippine culture and the pride they have in their country it would be clear why she is hurt by it.

well i understand lao culture, but still, i do understand her as a person being offended, but in reality she shouldn't take it so personal. if she isn't here yet, or still in PI, its a good lesson i'd would think. in that situation, i'd be more happy to have a husband that is honest and not afraid to speak his mind. even if he is being sarcastic, she will learn that on his own.

  12. Our I-130 has been approved and now we are getting ready for the next steps. From what I understand, for forms, my husband will need to complete the DS-3032 (choice of agent) form and DS-230. I was reading through the guide posted on Visa Journey (which is great) and it states that usually the alien notes the petitioner as the choice of agent. But I am with him in Europe (we couldn't stand to be apart during this process) and currently our mail is going to my tenant in Florida who scans the mail and emails it to us. But we will only be able to send mail to that address until July. We did not hire a lawyer for this process nor do we plan to.

Should we note my father as his choice of agent and have all mail sent to him? My father resides in the U.S. and will also be our co-sponsor in this process. OR, can we have mail sent to my husband, at his address in Italy? The form seems to offer the choice of the alien receiving any notifications to the address he chooses, in the country he chooses. :help:

Also, according to the form on the guide, it looks like the DS-230 form expired on 12/31/2006 - does anyone know where we can get an updated form or is this form still good?

up to you really on where you send it. i did my husbands choice of agent to canada since i was in canada anyways. i paid online for everything, and he just downloaded the forms anyways, so it really didn't matter who it was. my mother was my co-sponser. i guess if were you, id pick your father just because its a longer lasting address. as for the new ds-230, here is a thread about that and where it is, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=180961
