  1. they aren't rly that far away in montreal. everything is farily close downtown, but we had a rental car and got lost cuz can't read french (and of course i wasn't rly following the direction that we printed out) lol but on the maps it wasn't far at all. just do a quickie search of where they are.

  2. i got my list ready. i don't have an offical school thing though yet, but this is what i have

    1. signed rental agreement with my mother

    2. student data sheet for daughter in california

    3. proof of california car insurance

    4. voter information packet from placer county that has name, addy, and voting place

    5. my class schedule for school

    6. most recent bank statement so far. i dunno how many i should include but i have them all. haven't decided on that one yet lol

  3. trailmix is right. The CO said I can register to school to send that in to prove my domicile. I'm still getting everything together, but on Monday or Tuesday, I'm sending a rental agreement with my mother, school registration, bank statements, voter packet (i don't have a registration card for voting, but I have all the forms they sent), car title (might send car insurance too). Might get more, but that's what I have so far. I did have my bank statements and voter info at the interview, but she wasn't interested and just said to fax or mail it in.

  4. :( interview was ok except they want more proof of domicile. bank statements and voter info wasn't good enough, she wouldn't take it. so i have to sign a lease with my mother now, which is lame. but everything else was ok. we could've left the passport but choose to take it because her promise of after we send everything back it only takes two weeks doesn't fly with me. so sad face today.

Curious. Was there any reason they asked for this info?

yeah cuz i've been in canada for a while. i did expect this sort of, but i thought what i provided would be enough, but she didn't want to see what i had. but i can fax or email anything i gather, so hopefully i will get various documents by monday...which is the current plan. and since im stuck here till friday, i have to try to get in a happy mood to head off to the casino for some poker lol

Lol, I am confused. :P You said you have been in Canada for a while and she wanted proof of domicile in Canada?

  6. We're at the Days Inn Downtown, but we also rented a car since we are staying thru the week and since cars are so cheap to rent now, way cheaper than a taxi and freedom to go to the casino obv. Pretty confusing if you're driving though lol. Lots of construction going on by the consulate though, so watch out for detours. Might be too far to walk to the consulate due to the winter weather starting. Up the road a bit on the same street (rene - levesque), but a little closer to the consulate, there is a holiday in express and a travel lodge i saw.

Sorry things weren't completed for you today :( I hope they speed things along once they receive the extra info they are looking for. You are almost there - hang in (F)

yeah i hope they do too. but i've read someone saying they had to give the medical after and they've been waiting over a month. but, we will see. at least everything else was ok. starting to think i should've left his passport there now lol but oh well.

  9. 48 is mm which is between a 5 and a 4.5 so maybe 4.3/4 is right. here (about halfway down) is a chart http://www.crucible.org/ring_sizes.htm and depending on your ring, they can switch the setting out to one that's smaller. somehow i have the smaller size problem too, which is weird cuz im not tiny at all but they will usually find something for you that will work. people are nice to help when you're spending money there lol

  10. Ok great guys- I have just visit the dublin embassy and i got loads of good info. They have a checklist in a PDF file posted so that we know exactly which document we need to include. BUT i still have one more question...I was surprised to see that the I-864 Affidavit of Support in not on the checklist. Is this form optional?

Here is the PDF i was talking about just you want to take a look

    http://dublin.usembassy.gov/root/pdf/check...ien-spouse2.pdf

    Thanks again

I think that is what is needed for the initial filling. After that part gets approved, I believe they will start sending you packets which will request the I-864, DS-230 and all the other goodies.

  11. Some girls either don't care if they're engaged or don't know that he is.

This guy seems so weird to me. I can't rly say what his deal is, if there is someone else, or if he is just confused. Seems like he wants to postpone anything, and for him to leave you hanging is just a terrible thing to do in my eyes. I guess at least he set a date, but like the others above said, after your last email exchange with him, I would've just went off on him there lol.

  12. lol i remember doing my car in texas years ago. took almost all day from driving around. had to do an extra trip to buy tires since i didn't pass inspection lol (this was pre-smog days though). you should get your plates the same day you register, unless you want personalized plates lol
