  1. After entering the US on IV- How long will it take to get the green card in the mail? Is there a waiting for SSN as well?
  2. We had our interview today and got approved. The whole process was smooth. It took around 1.5 hours including the wait time outside the consulate. The first officer asked us for the original documents and took the fingerprints. The second officer asked few questions related to research area, job profile, educational background and date of marriage. No additional documents were needed other than the ones mentioned on the Montreal consulate website. The status showed ‘issued’ in 5 minutes (I took my phone with me and kept it in their locker). We did not receive any IV fee payment instructions. When are we going to receive the instructions? Maybe together with our passports and sealed envelopes? Members- please help
  3. Best wishes for your interview!! In my case also, the passport information and address has changed, I am planning to take the extra sheet containing the updated information. Are you planning to update the CO and give them the sheet at the beginning of the interview or when asked about the changes?
  4. Dear VJ members, I am looking for advice. Last year I acquired Canadian citizenship and my previous passport became invalid. However, at the time of filling DS-260 I was not a Canadian citizen and used my old passport to fill out the forms. Now which passport information should I use to register for immigrant visa interview and the medicals? The Montreal Consulate website mentions that - 'The information entered below must match the applicant’s passport and DS-260 Number application. Any discrepancy will result in delays in the return of the applicant’s documents.' I would really appreciate any suggestions.
  5. I’m booking the medical appointment and need some help. Which doctor should I go with-Dr. Randall T. Lee, Dr. Lyndon Mascarenhas and Dr. Ian Zatzman?
  6. How do we move our car from Alberta to Texas? I would appreciate any reference/suggestion for the car moving companies. Thanks.
  7. Dear group members, I got tired of the long wait and decided to try my luck with AOS. I applied for a job, got the offer and they filed for O-1 visa. My O-1 is approved with my Indian passport details which is soon going to be unusable. I am becoming a Canadian citizen this month. Do I need to get my O-1 visa stamped at US consulate in Canada after becoming Canadian citizen? I have read on the USCIS website, that Canadians don't need a nonimmigrant visa to enter into United States. Please let me know what to do in this case?
