Wanted to update the thread! We received our interview date, it will be May 9th 2023. Anybody else have any updates?

That’s great news! Good luck with the interview.

My folks were both approved on Feb 12 for both I-130s and I-485s. No interview. Have already received GCs in the mail. I had completely stopped checking until the cards showed up in the mail and surprised all of us. Haha. Their I-130s ended up being moved from Nebraska Service Ctr to Chicago, Il.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Best of luck @kels430 with the interview. 💪🏼

Hey guys, got a question.. our interview was yesterday Feb 3 but we weren’t approved on the spot. Everything went well though, IO didn’t ask a lot of questions either. But I keep checking the status online and it is still on “Interview Was Scheduled” is this normal? Or has anybody had any experience like this? I’m getting a little worried that this might not be a good sign 😓 All he said before leaving is that he will review everything and scan more documents. Then gave us the paper saying it’s under review. Any response will help thank you!

I’m no help as we haven’t had our interview scheduled yet and so we’re still waiting. But, I hope your review turns into good news soon. Good luck!

I just wanted to update and share the glitch at USCIS just in case it happens to you. My EAD was supposedly approved on 10/29/2021 and I never received it. I was checking the status daily and lost a lot of sleep on this 😂. I was in contact with my case worker daily. I was told that USCIS did not have a record of approval despite getting an email from NBC that it was approved. It was elevated to the highest level according to my Senator’s office and finally today, it says “card is being produced” in my status. It was a nightmare with USCIS playing with our emotions. I almost lost my job as the deadline to satisfy I-9 requirements is today. I’d like to give credit to Sen. Cortez-Masto’s office. They are the best.

    Filed: 07/16/2021

    I-131 approved: 10/29/2021

    I-765 approved: 12/01/2021

I-485: Still under review (most likely March 2022 interview)

    Good luck to all!

Yikes! Glad it worked out for you and in the nick of time. Thanks for the update as I’m sure it’ll help others immensely.

Been quiet here lately! Anyone have any case updates? We submitted our AOS/IV package today! Now we wait, and here's to hoping we don't get an RFE 🙃

Congrats! Hope you are RFE-free with your AOS. I received the same RFE for my AOS and Petition so I just had to resubmit the same things I had already submitted with my AOS again but no biggie. Here's to the waiting game! No updates on my end. Good luck to ya!

    Update:

    • EAD approved Oct 29, 2021 after expedite help with congressional support
    • AP was approved Oct 29, 2021 as well without expedite. I received a separate “Standalone AOS approval email this morning”. I think they approved the AP as well as both of my I-765 and I-131 is in the NBC. I was pleasantly surprised.

That is awesome! Congrats! Your case is flying along without much of a hiccup. Nice! Hope your interview comes up soon.

My parents did biometrics third week of October and are done with that. Received RFE for my birth certificate and I-864 exemptions for my parents so sent in their Social Security Statement and my birth certificate…again.

Went to the DMV to get my mom a State ID card today and that was unsuccessful. They couldn’t verify her status in the SAVE system and seems we have to wait another few weeks for it.

If anyone else ran into something similar at DMV, please let me know how long you had to wait for the verification. Thanks in advance.

I hope everyone else’s cases have made it to the biometrics phase and are having as much luck as @chancecody

I have seen people had their case approved a few days after RFI. Could be a good sign!

Are both your parents “being actively reviewed”?

Thank you! Hopefully, but not too concerned  it if isn’t. Yes. Both of their cases are back to “being actively reviewed” as of yesterday, 19 Oct, after I sent the RFE response. Didn’t even wait for the letter to arrive in the mail.

The annoyance was mostly that I uploaded the document they needed, right above the document that was already in there. I can’t complain all that much though. It hasn’t been a harrowing experience for my parents and I as it has been for some. For that, I’m grateful.

  7. Holy moly @ReynaHari! That is super fast! Congratulations to ya!

Hope you get some good news soon @blackknight1609

Both of my petitions for my parents are still pending. Just received RFI today requesting my birth certificate (AGAIN 🙄) that indicates our relationship. Pretty annoyed as I can see the birth certificate right there on my uploads page on USCIS from when I initially submitted my packet but here we are.

Update: Completed biometrics today and the status changed to “Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS” for both I-485 and I-765.

The biometric appointment took less than 10 minutes. There is a USCIS guard outside to check your appointment and inside, two USCIS guards checked my ID and appointment again before going through the metal detector. They were confused that my passport that has my maiden name on it does not match the ASC appointment letter even with a marriage certificate. They let me in regardless. Once inside, the contractor looked at my paperwork and stamped it. She then asked me to follow her to the other room to take my picture and take electronic fingerprints. The photo taking was weird as you are asked to sit down in a chair and look way up to the DSLR camera instead of taking your picture at the eye-level. Anyway, I saw how I looked like in the photo and was satisfied and relieved that I did not look like in the America’s Most Wanted List as this will be the photo that will be used in the green card and EAD/AP card.

One positive aspect that I saw was there was nobody inside USCIS Reno office. The staff is just twiddling their thumbs bored to death so I am hoping that once NBC passes it to Reno FO that it will move faster since the Reno FO seems to lack work. I saw a post about someone from Reno getting their green card in 3 months so I am hopeful.

Good luck to everyone’s journey. I hope we all get our interview dates soon.❤️

Awesome! Congrats! Looks like it’s been smooth sailing for yours. Hope the wait is not too long!

    Hi all,

I just submitted for my parents, I don't see many new threads so hoping I can tag along here for August. I filed both my forms online and they are both accepted in Texas Service Center.

August 17, 2021 Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Sent

It’s no better here but, hey, welcome! Lol.

Good luck to you and your folks!

The waiting makes me so anxious. I’m about to give birth and i’m hoping my parents will be here in the US atleast before I go back to work. 😭

    Congratulations!

Are your parents visiting on a visa or are you expecting their I-130s to be approved before you give birth? Chances are unlikely but I’ll cross my fingers and hope for the best for you.

Just out of curiosity, is anyone else's A number block also blank on all the paper receipt notices?

Yep! Mine are blank on both parents notices.

Anyone know how to request A Number from USCIS? I tried to get driver license, but I couldn't with i-485 receipt without A Number.

    Thank you,

I think your USCIS online profile would show your A-number, IF it’s already been assigned. Otherwise, I’m not much help.

FYI I had the same issue and was patiently waiting for something that never came in the mail. You can send them an email via your account about “unlocking your draft account” by asking for “online access codes” that never came in the mail. I sent the email last night and just received it now. My receipt date was July 16th and today is August 12th so it is close to the 30 day mark that they require before contacting them.

Awesome! Thanks for the info! I looked at the USCIS online request form so much today, I wasn’t sure which option I needed to get the access code.

    Hopefully there’s good news tomorrow.

I also noticed in their uploads that I am missing many documents that I submitted. I am not worried though. I have an exact replica of my filing and evidence at home that I will bring to the interview. I just hope they do not delay my case and issue an RFE due to their mistake in not uploading everything.

Eek! I did the same as you— Made an entire copy of what I sent (except medical of course—just in case.

    • Received text receipts on Monday, August 2 (all IOE, no idea where they will actually be processed at this point)

Hopefully it won't take too long to receive paper copies and the online access code(s?).

Willkommen @ghostinthemachine! Your packet should be processed at whatever Field Office you selected on your I-485. My receipts were also IOE but I was informed to check the processing times for my FO. It’s 13 months to 26 months for my FO. 😬 Currently still waiting for online access codes but not in a hurry neither. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Good luck to ya!

Hi, I sent my application on July 16th to Chicago lockbox. Still waiting for the receipts. The checks haven't been cashed either. It's been so long.

Eek! Hopefully you get some good news soon @Sunshine210! Good luck to ya!

June 13, 2021 Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Sent

Forgot to change address in my profile so receipt notice got sent to the wrong address in a different state. And from the online copy looks like the case got sent to Potomac so that sucks.

Oh no! Hope you’re still able to get your receipt notices from your old address. Good luck!

    Hi Jess2go,

Our timeline looks similar and are being processed by NBC in Lee’s Summit, MO. Let’s update one another 🙂.

Question: I could not find the processing times for the National Benefits Center for I-485. Do you know how long it will take? I was hoping for Nebraska as that is where my I-130 went but I got the NBC.

My I-130s went to Nebraska as well. Looked

up the Field Office as @HRQX suggested and looks like we’re both looking at 12-13 months of waiting, but hopefully, they really don’t take the whole year.

@HRQX, thanks for looking out. My parents are retired and living their best lives these days, so no employment needed. Both have SSNs,  which saved me a whole neck pain from submitting the I-864, as they’re both eligible for the exemption. They also get the stimulus. 😊 Oh, and if you are able, please delete my sidebusting into the K1 folks forum please. 😂😂😂🤦🏻‍♀️
