As others have said, congressional inquiries are pretty easy to do yourself. Generally, my experience has been that they just end up providing you with the same information that you could have found from the Embassy to begin with, but every once in awhile they might reveal a tidbit of extra info since the Embassy or NVC will actually take their time to respond to the congressional inquiry individually as opposed to just copying and pasting some canned text. If you are getting really desperate for information, you could always go the FOIA route, although I'm not sure how fruitful that is. https://foia.state.gov/

My senator liaison talked to the NVC. They have no extra power to get something done. She did tell me that Rio is only doing emergency visas and no regular business and they are still basically closed. So the cases are getting more and more backed up. NVC said right now that Rio is year or more behind. Our NOA 2 was done 18 months ago. Frustrating

Hi guys! How are you dealing with your long distance with covid? Me and my boyfriend have been apart for a year already and I am feeling so drained, he's also in the military so I guess it gets a little more complicated. 😢  Hopefully we'll be able to reunite soon and all of this mess will come to an end.

Thanks to modern technology, we watch a movie together. We just have each other on video and start the movie at the same time. Obviously not great but it’s something.

My Fiancé went to her Visa interview in Chishinau, Moldova, on April 20, 2021. On May 10, 2021 she received her passport back with her Fiancé Visa in it. She sent me a picture of the Visa questioning it. Apparently it's valid from May 6, 2021 thru 10 September, 2021.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I was under the impression that a K-1 Visa had a 6 month validity. I counted and ours is 4 months and 4 days.

I would think with covid those dates would be out the window. Maybe it was a mistake?

Okay I’m here to whine because I find this to be ridiculous. I was looking at visa statistics for Lagos Nigeria and there were 6 K1 visas processed in March compared to 180

CR-1 visas 254 IR-1 Visas and over 1700 B1/B2 visas!!!! How is this fair???? I can’t reunite with my fiancé but they can process tourist visas??? And marriage visas are priority but not fiancé visas??? If my fiancé was here he’d be my husband. I’m so frustrated. Been sitting at the NVC for a year in two weeks!!! This is so unfair. I’m so upset. Sorry I needed to vent somewhere

It is ridiculous and my fiancé is in Brazil so she can’t even come on her tourist visa and wait it out. In Brazil there were couple of lawsuits and of course those K 1’s got processed but it cost $3000 to take part in the lawsuit which is too much with all the other expenses. The NVC has had our process only since Jan so I guess I should be happy. We will get there. Thank God for modern technology! We are going to watch a movie’ ‘together’ tonight.

Brazil is not restricting travel? I was there about a month ago, and will be returning in September. I do recommend you are fully vaccinated before you go, I had no issues other than finding a place to get a covid test 3 days before I returned. I can help you with the info if you want. But travel there is not an issue. I was in Rio, not sure if you are going to the same area or not.

Let me rephrase.... my adult daughters refuse to let me go right now 😂
