Odd question but.... when I do my departure tax stuff do I have to list our us house? My husband bought it a month after we got married and it’s all in his name. Or I’m I gonna have to pay crazy tax on it ?

My Canadian fiancée and I received our notice that our petition is being sent to the consulate today(!), so we're getting ready for Packet 3 and the next steps.
She lives in Northern BC, so she'll have to take time off work to spend some time in Montreal for the medical and interview. How long has it been taking people recently to get the medical results from that clinic? We're wondering how many days we'll need to expect to spend in Montreal.
Thanks for any advice anyone can provide!
You will want the medical done at lest a week before the interview.

Thank you. I'm making an emergency flight to US on Monday. Will see what proof I can get.
His condition may eventually impact his work, but not for as long as it's maintained well, but I can prove he was very capable of making a living and he still will ....if I can support him with the recovery.
Fingers crossed
Hope he is found soon. In my eyes that would be a valid for you to be expedited. You will paper work from a dr saying he needs you there. It never hurts to try.

It's a tough journey and the uncertainty of the timeline can really drive you crazy. Hang in there!
I do think things will get better moving forward.
Yes I agree I think things are speeding up.

Strangely, my I-94 travel record only shows stuff back to 2015…that leaves only like 9 other years to account for…
That maybe why you got the ds-5535

You can always get a copy of you crossing dates from the border too if needed.they should have them on file not sure how long it takes to get the copy. As for addresses I’m sure if u stayed at a hotel a google search would work to find them. E.g. u went to Florida to Disney world.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this in, my apologies if it's not the right place. The third item on the P3 checklist is "Adoptions decree". Who is that intended for? Are they referring to children adopted by the beneficiary (So, me) or are they referring to anyone who was adopted applying for a K visa? I was adopted in NS, I have my long for birth certificate but I have no idea what an adoptions decree is...
That would be papers saying you were adopted signed by a judge. If I’m not mistaken.

DS-5535 is about security checks being done on the beneficiary, It has nothing to do with income requirements of the petitioner.
Another thought came to mind, on what could trigger the form - the beneficiary's online and social media presence and anything that could be perceived as a threat from it.....really just grasping at straws though...
Oh yeah I forgot about social media. It has never come up before. I just find it really strange they didn’t keep the passport. But it could be someone new too.

I don’t understand why they couldn’t have sent me this questionnaire by now. They sent it to you same day, which makes sense. Still nada in my inbox.
Did you meet the income requirements?

Congrats on the IV! Just a question regarding the IV date. Did you get to pick the date or do they pick it for you? Thanks!
You will get an email with the time and date. You can change it how ever it may be months before you get another interview

Hey folks
visa approved today
Appointment was for 8:15 am the security guy took me inside around 8:03 security check then took the elevator to 1st floor went to window 6 where they take you passport and 2 passport size pictures.......... after that waiting for number to show up on screen after the lady was very nice she asked for original civil documents inculding the 2020 taxes took one more picture from me then she returned all 3 of them as they say it’s electronic now..........
after that called to window 11 nice gentleman asked
1:- who is petitioner
2 :- where we met
3 :- any previous marriages
4 :- what do i and my spouse does for living
5 :- adress i will be living in states
then he says everything on the files look good .... started to type something on system returns me my original documents and says he plans to approve my visa
I’m confused he didn’t gave me any letter of WELCOME TO UNITED STATES , is it normal and tells me my passport would be back within 3-4 weeks ( which is much faster than that )
Don’t worry a lot of people never got the letter

Question for the group:
Since my DQ date is April 16, it seems probable that I'll get an interview letter in November for a December interview date. Currently in US with a TN, regretting not filing for AOS, but here we are.
The complication is that we're having our first child in a couple weeks (due 10/31) and I just don't think it makes sense for me to be away from a newborn baby and a recovering mom in order to do the physical exam and the interview, after which I would not be able to get back into the US until I get the passport back. So I think I have to strongly consider rescheduling the interview, if one falls to me next month.
How does rescheduling the interview work? Has anyone rescheduled their interview recently and how long would it take before the interview is rescheduled?
It could be months sadly no one really knows due to the backlogs. When you get ur letter you have to register then can ask for it to be moved.

Hey everyone,
Hope you and your families are well.
I was wondering when gathering documents to take to the spousal visa interview, do we have to take evidence of domicile for our co-sponser? Also do we need to take a copy of ours (mine and my co-sponser's) most recent (2020) taxes and w2 papers? Since when I was uploading the required documents last year I used 2019 taxes.
Also any idea when the RCMP (the updated one from 2020) expires?
Thank you!
Police report is valid for 2 years now.

Not 100% sure on that one but I was assume yes. They may think you are trying to move there and refuse entry. But I’m not 100% sure.
