Did u upload it under additional documents??

I can’t recall what the header was but I uploaded it in the same spot as all of my other documents. There was a drop down menu for titles once I clicked to add one, some I had to put as “other”.  I also had a joint sponsor just incase, the spouse as well of the joint sponsor. I uploaded full tax returns back to 2017 because my husband is an entrepreneur and pay stubs weren’t available nor was his 2020 return. I uploaded a lot. Bank statements, financial portfolios (for him and joint sponsor), w2s, business tax returns, house deed, I probably went overboard but I didn’t want to not have something the asked for.

Looking for advice - it has been said in the past that uploading your documents to CEAC prior to the interview date can sometimes help expedite/ease the interview itself once you're at the consulate. Does anybody recommend uploading the documents they specifically require (e.g. tax transcripts) or ALL extra financial documents to be thorough? in our case my wife (petitioner) and I are using a joint sponsor, and in case our interview will be after the 2020 tax deadline it will also include an I-864A since our joint sponsor got married in 2020. Do we upload just the tax transcripts or should we also upload 1040, W2's, pay stubs, etc. whatever we can to establish financial support?

I had this same thought and decided two days before to upload EVERYTHING. Now I can't say whether it helped or not because I only had one interview, however, make their lives easy and they will make yours easy too I think. Glad I uploaded, the officer even commented on how organized, which i assume was appreciated.

Feb 8 - Interview with approval

Feb 8 - CEAC status says "Issued" with "Necessary administrative processing" note

Feb 11 - CEAC status says "Issued" with "Final processing" note

Feb 12 - Received tracking number

    Feb 16 - Visa in hand 🙂

Planning to do POE at Pearson next week.

This is fantastic! Thanks for the timeline.

  4. Last question I hope.... I had my interview on Friday and the officer told me he was going to approve my VISA.

I have read the FAQ and logged into my CEAC account to see if anything was updated but I don’t see anywhere that says anything about case status, just where my application is currently at (Montreal). Is it something obvious i am missing? Any help is appreciated.  Thank you

They actually are, police down the block from my hotel rolled up to a couple that was walking and grilled them for a while.  Totally fine to jump across the street to meet a delivery person, I'm sure, and the front desk person at my hotel said it was fine to go outside to smoke, which was an interesting tidbit to offer since I hadn't asked and don't smoke haha

Wow good to know, I didn’t see anything like that but better to be on the safe side for sure if it is happening

    Hello!
I have a quick question regarding the curfew in Montreal. Those of you who have had your interviews did you run into any trouble because of the imposed curfew? Is there anything that I need to be aware of for my upcoming interview in March?

    Thank you!

I’m just leaving Montreal now and I had no issues with the curfew. I landed and took an Uber to my hotel and ordered food to my room. Had to go to the street to get it from the delivery person but it wasn’t as if police were patrolling or anything like that.

I brought photos, chat logs, and emails, but they didn't ask for it at my interview and I think it was overkill. All the printing out and filing I think I was doing as a sort of salve for my pre-interview anxiety, and really not necessary.

    Good luck tomorrow!

I think I was doing the exact same thing. I guess it’s just part of the mental process for some. Interview went well, approved! Thank you for sharing your experience

Did they tell you that you should have uploaded the new police certificate to CEAC before the interview? I only ask because I also have a new police certificate to present at the interview because mine expired, too. So I'm wondering if I should upload it to CEAC. I hadn't even thought I'd need to, just planned to bring the new one to the interview.

Surrey isn't the nicest place for a walk. If you have a rental car it doesn't really matter where you stay as you could drive to hiking areas or in to surrey for the medical. I booked at the closest hotel just because.

smart, for some reason it didn't even cross my mind to rent a car haha. I just planned to taxi everywhere but that is way better. Thank you.

have you looked into any Airbnb in the area.  I’m planning to go to surrey as well when I get my interview date and I haven’t figured out accommodations there yet.

I haven't only because i'm nervous about extra precautions for Covid. I am planning to book one of the mainstream hotels that has a strong system in place for cleaning and access etc. Just not sure what is best, near the clinic or near a place where there is access to good food and perhaps a place to walk a bit and enjoy the day.

Yeah, I agree it's not that far, but for now it seems really far. Luckily, my husband and I are together in Toronto. I was living here for 10 years and we decided to move closer to my family. But I am not able to accept offers in the U.S. because of me not being able to move there sooner. So it's adding to the frustration and feeling stuck. But let's hope for the best. What's your DQ? If it's in May, I really hope you get your present next week :)

Thank goodness you are together, I can understand the frustration of not being able to look for work/accept offers though. I left Toronto a few years ago naively when we started this process thinking it would be a 9 month process. Husband and I have been living apart for almost 3 years now and have a nearly one year old that I lug back and forth between Alberta and California in an attempt to be together at least a bit and not break any rules.  my DQ date is MAY 23!!!!!!!1 I am riiiiiiiighht there...

I am really hoping they send something tonight. Or latest by Sunday night for Feb interviews. I got my eyes set on it too. Also regarding their twitter post, is it clear to assume that they will continue to schedule immigrant interviews but just not as many as they were scheduling in the past few months? I really hope they send some IL soon tomorrow or in the coming week. Good luck 🤞

What makes you think they might send something by sunday?

My husband's DQ date is July 9th. It's crazy.....when I think they start working at a decent speed and then it slows down again :( lets hope they send some IL in the coming days. I got my fingers crossed for all the remaining may and some June DQd cases.

You are not far behind! I hope this process speeds up for everyone. My heart breaks for all the families kept apart and all the lives on hold.

I only just saw their post on facebook a few minutes ago and my heart sank... Unfortunately I don't think we can assume anything in these incredible times. What is your DQ date? Good Luck to you as well!
