  1. Very surprising that a document that says nationality: US and says passport card at the top doesn’t reflect the right action at DMV. I get that you may not see a passport card that often but if the card has nationality dmv shouldn’t make these mistakes.
  2. I may be the other extreme but I have the first I-20 i got from the school when I first came to US. It’s been so long that most professors that taught me have long retired. As you said only shred documents like bank statements, bills as they are no longer valid and every place will ask for latest documents and nothing from 10 years ago. Shredding CON? I was just absolutely awestruck with the stupidity there.
  3. it’s not just how much it costs in dollars but also how much would it cost in time. Heard a story few weeks ago where someone got their citizenship, got the passport, took care of other things and then they had a brilliant idea of shredding CON. They thought “why would I need this ever again”. of course that came back to bite them when they had to renew something else and had to apply for CON again. Time and money both wasted.
  4. Does the interview scheduled have the same check mark as “case pending” (or whatever the previous status is before interview scheduled). If it isn’t then an interview hasn’t been scheduled but that’s the next step.
  5. Nothing was checked when I got mine. All I was told is to sign it and the files handed it out left it at that
  6. Glad that worked for you! I would get distracted by the pace and how the questions were asked. Instead that printed piece of paper was so useful for me.
  7. Do not use any apps. Just stick to a print out of the pdf and go through them every day. YouTube, apps are just pure distraction.
  8. Thats a great attitude to obsess over the interview date. Good luck!
  9. Immigration lawyers know as much as we do 😂
  10. At some point you might get pulled in secondary (or multiple times) and there is nothing anyone can tell you for sure. Yes, only a judge can make a decision on these and that just means at some point you will be asked to show up in front of a judge and that’s also the time you would need to spend to make sure you appear in the court. if your international trips are not a necessity and you feel like citizenship is the way to go you need to take on the right steps and finish it off including being patient for the oath ceremony and making sure you attend it this time. CBP cannot make you give up green card status ( although they try and some people do fall for that and sign the 407 form). It’s a decision you have to make about what’s important for you and your future.
  11. For sure! I agree with you. Citizenship isn’t a requirement so if you need to step Cabo from the process do that instead. You know your conditions much better than anyone of us. If you think becoming citizen is the way to go, just pay attention to every single thing. Ask for help if you can’t so someone can keep an eye for you.
  12. Most likely will sound harsh, but you need to pay attention to all the notices from USCIS and not just assume. There are few things you don't screw around with it and one of them is USCIS (I could think of IRS as the second one right away). You might have your reasons to travel internationally, but you still need to pay attention and keep your eyes glued to any notices and notifications from USCIS.
  13. My suggestion is to talk to an attorney and see how you can avoid getting into the details. They might even write a letter explaining the abuse so you don’t have to (that’s just my guess)
  14. Congrats! More than likely you can take one guest then.
  15. Congrats for getting that quick interview! Good luck
  16. Surprised they setup your interview without a file at hand. Good luck, hopefully it’s done soon for you.
  17. One more data points My spouse had her interview and oath today. She had applied about 15 days after I had applied.
  18. Do you not have your own cell phone bill? Maybe create your own cell phone account (separate it out) so now have more proof of the same address?
  19. Got my passport card delivered today. Would have had it in hand if USPS had actually delivered my mail yesterday. Took 2 weeks to get that in hand.
  20. That’s definitely fast for Newark!
  21. I see your 2 months and raise you with my 4 months 😆
  22. Yes. Picked it up in about 4 hours.
  23. That time until case decision is definitely not real. I mean it’s real in a very average sense. But most people like me end up with path ceremony quickly. I had my oath 2 days after the interview. Most people get their oath done same day at SF office if their case is simple and they have their interview early in the morning
  24. I had a trip planned within 2 weeks of the interview so the day of interview I booked an appointment for passport office. Went in today and got the passport done. Now I can safely travel.
