    People whose case are not simple should use a lawyer. Highly recommend it. Especially, reading what you wrote, please do not go for the cheapest one. Use one with plenty of experience.

    If ChatGPT relies on data provided by individuals then it will be inaccurate. Most people do not update everything accurately. do not rely on ChatGPT for this analysis. A lot factors in why things might be moving slowly for someone vs others.

    I called SSA this morning and had to wait for a callback. Before I got the callback, local ssa office said wait for 2 weeks. In about 2 hours, I got a callback and they gave me an appointment in June. About 3 weeks out. So going to update the office then. I wonder if they can issue me a new card after citizenship (not that I need one)

    I am getting my passport done under emergency travel. Will be traveling next Saturday and now I can’t travel with my old passport ( country doesn’t allow dual citizenship) hopefully will get the passport done on the same day next week.

    Most definitely will stick around to help others. I called SSA and they said call us back in 2 weeks as USCIS might update them (it possibly won't happen) and if it's not done by then they will provide me with the appointment. I did use your thread specifically and also was able to find the SSA office local number ( for once Yelp was helpful) Have an appointment with passport office next week. Will get the passport sorted out and then onto Global entry.

    Closing the chapter of my immigration journey! Now onto next steps. It’s been a long journey, but glad it’s over. Will still come by to help others though.

    Ah, yes those can cause issues with n-400. Glad things are sorted out. The only reason I asked because yours took almost a year to complete.

    Thank you! I had doubts that the oath ceremony would be scheduled right away. But I am happy to be surprised!

    Just because I want to be a datapoint and be helpful. 😀 I got the approval and have the path ceremony scheduled. I got a letter right after the interview and it’s in 2 days. Already got the passport form, so will make an appointment as well and apply for the passport on the same day.

    You should really create your own thread as you will get better visibility from other folks on the forum. This is for folks who applied in Jan’25.

    We all do! I have my interview coming up and have no reason to check but I do. And given that I won’t be getting approval on the spot, I will continue even after the interview till the day of oath. We are creatures of bad habits (only some habits are good habits)

    It sucks to hear about your experience. also sucks if stamping passports becomes a antiquated thing. I get joy looking at stamps in the passport

    How much time do you spend in Thailand for the winter? As a generic answer, you might get a call for a biometric appointment about six or seven weeks after the receipt (cannot be guaranteed)

    No reason at all. You are a citizen, you no longer have to report any address changes to USCIS.

    I know this is a relatively older thread but make sure the flight you book is fully refundable. Read the terms and conditions before booking such a flight.
