They have started processing the cases again. If you go under portal -> scroll down to VJ India Timelines -> IR-1/CR-1 cases and you can see people are getting scheduled. I do not know what the timeline is. Yes, there's a backlog of all the cases from March - Dec when the embassy was closed. They started processing in Jan again

Hi, yes it is F2A. And our idiot prez just extended the ban apparently until end of March. Hopefully Biden overturns it for everyone’s sake. We’ve been fortunate enough not to be separated but my heart is with so many of you here that have been waiting away from your families. Fingers crossed for a better 2021!

Only people that are issued to interview dates are Young V Trump Plaintiffs for f2a

for Mumbai consulate. Last DQ to get interview letter was November 2019.

so the back long is huge.

depending on how fast they process after ban is over. And they actually starts issuing f2a visas. It will take about 8-10 months

No F- category visas are being interviewed right now because of the Trump ban. For sure there is a backlog building up, probably big, but no-one can really give estimates of waiting times until embassies reopen and start scheduling interviews again. However, if you only submitted docs in October it is likely to be a pretty long wait - given interviews have been suspended since March (Covid shutdowns) already, and most embassies are still not back to full capacity.

Incorrect, visas for spouses of LPRs are currently banned through the end of 2020.  Depending on the election outcome, this could change.

You’re thinking of the second (June) ban. The first one, in April, banned all family categories other than spouse and minor children of US citizens; this was then extended with the June one that you refer to until the end of the year.

F2A visa category is banned until the end of 2020 (assuming the ban is not extended).  Only spouses and minor children of US citizens, plus a few other cases, are exempted from the ban.  Family of LPRs are not exempted.

So you submitted your documents via the CEAC website, correct?

In my case, it took about 2 months when they informed me that it is documentarily complete.

Assuming that they are satisfied with the documents that you submitted, I think it should take about the same time that mine did. If in case they request for additional documents, it will take longer because I believe they will treat it as a new submission altogether. Periodically check the CEAC website and see if there are any messages that they send you.

Once they inform you that your documents are complete, they will then transmit the same to the appropriate consular office that will process it.  That can be a bit longer than usual since most consular offices are working on a reduced staff, and I believe most of them are also not processing family-based petitions of permanent residents. Before it takes anywhere between 30-90 days for the consular office to schedule the interview, but like I said, it can be longer because of this pandemic.

Good luck and let me know if there's any other questions that I can help you with.
