GabiD reacted to Greenbaum in JANUARY 2021 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY
This thread was created for those who are waiting for their NOA2 K-1 case assignment from NVC and then tracking your case on wards to your Embassy.  Contained in the PDF below are many tips, tricks and hacks to help you along the way.

These are items that everyone asks for, so I thought I just post a PDF of them here for you to refer to when it's necessary. If you are new to this thread please read as these are most asked questions multiple times.

When we got the i-129f approval the wait time for NVC to receive and create a case was around 30 days, it might be different now. I bet you can start calling NVC around 2 weeks after the petition approval to see if they have a case number for you.

Once you get your case number you can check the status here https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

The earliest status you can see there is "at NVC", simply meaning NVC has your case and still hasn't sent it to the embassy. The next status would be "in transit" and then "ready". Ready means that the embassy has received your case.

I emailed the embassy yesterday and this morning, this is the response they sent me,. Hopefully they will resume in November or December as the rumor on the street is going.

Wow... That happened to a lot of people. In February, We got the chance to meet in Colombia, and just after that COVID happened and everything closed, we are hoping that by the time we get an interview date borders here are opened. If not, it's going to be difficult to travel from Venezuela to Colombia (International flights are not working yet)

And I know the feeling 🙁😞 It's frustrating to not being able to meet in person.
Not knowing when they are going to resume activities is the worst.
    We still haven't received NOA1. 🙄

All we can do is keep our hopes up, and try to have everything they could ask for ready.. I saw in the Embassy calendar that they are assigning dates... So hopefully K1s will come next.

I'm the beneficiary, and I'm in Venezuela. The waiting is so frustrating. On the "bright" side all dates for appointments are non available for these year and two weeks ago there were still dates open for Nov and Dec... So maybe they are starting..? 🙏🏻

For those who have just filed your I-129f application with USCIS, this thread has been created for your needs and for you to be with others experiencing different aspects of this journey. This is a place to ask questions and to share experiences. All are here to learn together. Good luck because this is a long process currently running 5-6 months from filing date for your NOA2 approval.

Also, since your application will go through several background checks, this is a primer on what goes on with the background process.

I know it sucks, but the best way to get through this is to lower your expectations and try not to compare your timeline to anyone else's. Don't forget that the people here on Visa Journey represent a tiny percentage of all the petitions the CSC has to work through! When someone gets to your file, you'll hear from them. Stay busy, talk a lot with your fiancé about non-visa stuff, don't forget to hang out with your friends, take up a new hobby, go to a sporting event, and your time will come! Good luck

An explanation of why is it taking so long.
