Yes! He did. It ended up being about 4 months from when he entered the country though! Took bloody ages but it eventually came.

    So I got DQ'd today!

I had already swapped in a letter explaining the process etc (probably shouldn't have).

My wife called the Auckland Consulate three times, eventually the lady on the phone conceded she could not access the system that sends the police certificate to the NVC and recommended we email so she can escalate to a consular officer for review.

So I emailed the Consulate asking them to: (1) resend my police certificate to the NVC (2) to ask the NVC to review it again without going to the back of the line.

The Consulate sent me an email yesterday confirming that on 4 March 2022 the NVC confirmed to the Consulate that they received my police certificate and marked it against my file - but not that the Consulate had resent it or anything.

I tried calling the NVC a couple of times yesterday but couldn't connect, and the one time I did my call disconnected while on hold (I got into an elevator without thinking).  Then today, literally while on hold to the NVC to request a review, they DQ'd me.

I can only assume the consulate sent them a message in the background!

My husband just had his interview!!! Approved! Wooooo!

They asked him when we met, when we got married, what we do for work, what were his plans for work after arriving in the U.S. - all pretty basic stuff. They asked him why I didn't join him at the interview and he told them I'm flying back on Friday so have lots of packing to do and they thought that was understandable. Oh & they asked him about living in Germany as he lived there 2 years and asked if he had lived anywhere else overseas.

CONGRATS! So happy for you both. My husband just finished up his medical - a nightmare getting as he flew up from the South Island for it and his flight got delayed 2.5 hours due to fog, he showed up over an hour late to the appointment but they ended up accepting his tardiness and rushing him through. Interview next week... I cannot wait to be done.

    WE JUST GOT DQ'D !!!!!!!!! 🎉
So thrilled - any recent info on how long we should expect to hear about interview scheduling from Akld Consulate and how far out they are booking?
Also if anyone has booked a medical recently - let me know if it was hard to book and if there was a long wait.

My husband just got his interview appointment in Auckland and I'm blown away at how soon it is.
DQ'd April 19th, and they emailed us late on April 25th to let us know his interview is the morning of Wednesday May 11th! (Three weeks from DQ date)
We are now scrambling to get the medical and everything booked and sorted.
Stress levels are high but thankful for the quick progress.
If anyone has any interview prep tips, please shout out!!!!

Thank you!!! I'm glad CityMed were able to accommodate him. That's good of them. The medical is the beginning of the end, I assure you! After that, everything goes in the blink of an eye.

They'll give all the docs back at the interview. Courier bag is just for the passport. They gave all the documents back to my wife and said they never needed them. Looked like they hardly looked at them, just took the passport out of that folder.

My wife got her passport back today with visa inside! So glad this is pretty much over.

Just thought I'd send an update.

My wife had her interview today and it was a breeze. It was at 8:45am and she was out of there by 9:05am. Went very smoothly.

They asked when she last saw me, where I was living and what I did for work. Then they told her the visa is approved and will be in the mail.

A fantastic result after a very long process. Thanks to everyone for your help and I hope everyone else can have such an easy interview experience.

You NEED to courier them up ahead of time. We recently had this same question and nearly lost our interview date because of it. We hadn't heard anything from the consulate and I couldn't find any clear info about it anywhere so I emailed them and asked. Except that was the Thursday before Easter, so they didn't reply until the following Tuesday, and they said if the docs weren't there by Thursday (one week before the interview) the interview would have to be rescheduled for the following month. Their address is a private bag, so your only option for a courier is NZ Post. That was a very nervous 30 hours or so between sending the docs and them receiving them, but thankfully they made it there.

Yah! That was super quick. You need to courier the documents up at least a week before so I would just send them now. Just make sure he keeps his passport for the medical and to get into the consulate on the day along with his interview letter.

Thanks very much for this advice.  I did my medical at CityMed in Auckland this week and they recommend that you DO NOT have missing shots from the CDC list done before you come to them.  Arrive with what you have, they make an assessment and give you what is missing if necessary, right there on the spot.  I turned up with no childhood vaccination record and they administered MMR, TDAP, seasonal flu jab.  The blood test will confirm that I've already have chicken pox as a child.  And that's it.  Good luck everyone!

    Hi @Fabio R S,
I had a convo with another member on here ( @EKT ) who was using assets to cover the Affidavit of Support requirements & got a similar message suggesting her income did not meet the requirements and they may need a joint sponsor. From my understanding - as long as all docs are accepted and you get 'DQ'd' then I don't think you have to submit more online - if you've already been notified your case was sent to the local Consulate for interview scheduling then I think you are fine. Just bring a joint sponsor AOS form and evidence to your interview just in case - in @EKT's case I believe they weren't even asked for the joint sponsor affidavit at the interview.

I was kind of under the assumption many of these messages are just blanket statements sent automatically to anyone who doesn't use income for the Affidavit of Support. Again, it's hard to know for sure the many mysteries of the NVC process but this was my conclusion after many hours on VisaJourney lol - and since I too used assets and stock portfolios instead of income, I'm expecting this message as well.

An update on our end - We had are I-130 petition approved a while back (PD Feb 9th 2021) , it was on actively reviewing for over 9 months (Texas Service Center) before we got approved, it did change again to actively reviewing the day before we were officially approved.

Submitted to NVC on Jan 28th 2022 and just DQ'd yesterday! Onto the wait for the interview. Patience, patience, patience.
