After how long do we get our supporting documents back?
I received my passport with typo in name 14 days back but still waiting for my certificate of naturalization back, so I can apply for a new passport to fix the typo. Any idea after how long people are getting back their certificate of naturalization from the passport agency once they receive the passport? My the passport was expedited.
I received my certificate a week later after I received my passport book. Maybe this can help you

Losing your Naturalization Certificate
If you lose your naturalization certificate, you will need to file a form N-565 with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Instances when you would need to file a form N-565 include:
- Your certificate has been lost, stolen, destroyed, or misprinted with an error
- You have changed your legal name or gender

That must’ve been so stressful! for sure it’s worth all of that wait. When we first started applying for spousal, I felt like I am the one petitioning myself since I do all the work and research lol. I learned a lot from this.
You’re so close to the final process, the naturalization interview will be a breeze for your wife. Wish you all the best of luck!

Wow! I’m intrigued to see all of your journey to forever in your histories but idk where to find it. It’s nice to see all of you are buddies and supporting each other in Visa Journey.

Yes your husband can get the BB stamp as well,. When you clear immigration after exiting the aircraft is when you request the BB stamp for both of you and your husband. Present both your U.S. passport and Philippine passport (or your birth certificate)
Thank you! You are a lifesaver!

As has already been said your Philippine passport became void the moment you took your oath of citizenship.
Just the same, do bring the passport with you when you travel to the Philippines, it can be used as evidence of former Philippine citizenship thus you can get the BB stamp in your U.S. passport and that will allow you to stay for 1 year without having to pay any fee when exiting.
So you are good to go, once the Philippines open their doors
Enjoy your visit.
That’s actually easier than applying for dual citizenship! I just looked up what BB stamp means! I’ll go to that route then.
Can my husband be stamped as well even though he never a filipino citizen? Where do I get my passport stamped?
thank you kindly!

I have received both my passport book and my naturalization certificate, but not my passport card. Took me days of reaching out to the customer service. Anyone have the sane experience? How long does the process take?

Thank you all very for the answers and infos! I think I’ll go to Chicago for a dual then, again really appreciate all of you! Hope you all are safe and well!

After you become a US citizen you need to reclaim your Philippines citizenship. I am not sure if that needs to be done in US before you go or if it can be done there in the Philippines.
Hi! I was thinking of applying for dual citizenship but not sure where to start. I did my research though but we have no Philippine embassy in Michigan and I am not sure if the embassies from other state are open.

Hello! I just passed my US Citizenship and got my US passport. I also have my Philippine passport that is not yet expired. I want to stay longer in Philippines for maybe 6 months or less, but being an American citizen, I have to pay for overstay monthly fee. To avoid paying can I just use my Philippine passport instead when I travel going there? Please be kind! Thank you!

Hoping they all stay in Texas.
I hear there is low paying work selling pre-owned toilet seats.
Nancy Pelosi should welcome them in her house and feed them ice cream, bet they can all fit inside her mansion.

I have never heard of them taking your certificate away, I had no issues, they just revise the documentation to ensure that is real, but nobody had to keep mine.
Where did you hear that they take the the certificate away?
Also, your best bet is to apply directly with the post office or the Detroit Passport Agency , I am not sure of their availability of appointments and turn around, but they would have the resources to verify your documentation right there and then and give your certificate back right away.
Did you mail your certificate to the passport agency? There are some stories that they lose their certificate from the mail. I’m afraid to mail mine.

thank you. Did you receive your Oath date already? I'm out of state between March 6 and 13, know Oath can be rescheduled, but would rather not.
Yes I received the Oath letter online a day later and I received the mail three days later after my naturalization interview.

I passed the interview this morning. Super easy...I think it was around 15 minutes total... 6 questions, one read test, one write test, then she went through some of the questions fr.the form, asked if I wanted to change my name and I said no, then she asked me to confirm the info on the screen and sign it. On my way home I got an email saying that my case was selected for quality review, and a few seconds later got another one saying I'm waiting in line for the oath. Half an hour later another email came in saying that a notice with the oath details has been mailed...
I applied under the 5 year rule after a divorce. They never asked anything about it other than " you are currently divorced? Me: That's correct". She didn't look at any support documents I had.
Thanks everyone
Congrats!!! Welcome to the club!

Is wearing a red dress with black jacket and boots formal enough for the Oath ceremony?
9 minutes ago, Elena77 said:Passed my interview yesterday. Was pretty easy, 6 civics questions, read: When is the Columbus day? and write: Columbus day is in October. Also, was asked to answer Yes/No to questions from the N400 form. No vocabulary.
My account says Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed, but it's not showing in Documents tab yet.
Congratulations! I got the same english writing and speaking test!

That was my flag, I have had it for awhile, it used to belong to one of my old neighbors who passed away, and when people come and cleaned up his place they threw it on the trash, I saw and picked it up.
He was a veteran and I did not think that it was a good thing to disrespect a flag and his memory like that.
I believe that you can get flags on Amazon, or even walmart and target.
That is honorable of you to keep the flag from a hero 🙏🇺🇸

The ceremony was great, short but sweet, on my ceremony there was about 30 people taking the oath, we were let in 30 minutes prior to the ceremony starting.
They verified the paperwork and documentation we had, they also took all of the old copies of green cards and other previous documents, work permits and such to be destroyed.
Only the people taking the oath were allowed in, the only part that sucked, because I wanted to have my wife and son there with me.
We were sat apart, with masks the entire time, also our temps were checked at the door, to speed up I filled my paperwork before leaving home.
The ceremony was short, we were all done and out within 20 minutes, last year the same ceremony had over 70 people and lasted about an hour and half.
The certificate was giving out right there, the picture on it was the same from when I applied, so no need to take any 2x2 pictures.
At the point of the ceremony, everything is ready as far as the citizenship goes and there is no need to do any other paperwork.
Enjoy your ceremony, I still wake up in the morning and do not feel like it really happen, and maybe I am just dreaming.
I’m so excited to dress up for my Oath ceremony! Did you buy an American flag or does it come from their office? Where did you buy it?

I passed the Interview! I was nervous about being talkative as my Dad advises me “less talk, less mistake!”. I was scheduled at 10:40am, I arrived there at 10:25am. It’s pretty easy to go to the right direction as the staff is guiding you to go where to go from the metal detectors to the staff who checks your Interview letter. After getting my temperature and the staff check my letter, I was told to go sit right next to the door. Turn off your phone at the waiting room, don’t let them catch you using your phone!
The interview was smooth. The tests were blurry in my memory 🥲 reading test is about Columbus, and the writing is about Columbus, I think I misspelled his name to “Columbos” even though I’ve read his name on the reading test. It doesn’t matter because I passed it anyway. The civics questions I remembered were
*When do we celebrate Independence Day?
*What are the two rights of the declaration of Independence?
*Who is the Chief Justice of the Supreme court?
I forgot the rest 🥲
Thank goodness there were no Vocabularies! I was more worried about that because I have a friend who has been memorizing it back in Texas and their IO asks them the definition of terms.
He asked me about how I met my husband. That’s pretty much it!
Thank you for all the tips and Good luck everyone!

Do the IO asks follow up questions from the N400 like , “do you know what that means??? “
Like randomly ask what “military unit” means or “genocide” from part 12 of N400 form.

During the interview, the only address the IO asked me to provide is my current address, no any other address was asked.
Thanks for the answer!
as a spouse of a US citizen, the followings are the list of documents I will be bringing. Please do tell if I am missing something.
*Spouse’s birth certificate*tax returns
*state ID
*green card
*marriage certificate
*social security card
*Joint Bank account
*birth certificate
*all of my passports

Do I have to memorize all the addresses? I have so many addresses for the last three years and it’s hard to remember the numbers. Just wondering if they ask me from the form N400.

appointment was at 8am, they only allow people to go in the building roughly around 7:45am, then security check.. so no need to go earlier..
the writing test was: Lincoln was the President during the Civil War.
The Civics: 1. longest river in the US
2. father of the country
3. how long do the senators serve?
4. what does the constitution do?
5. checks and balances is the answer to this question (sorry, can not remember the question exactly:-)
6. name two rights of the Declaration of Independence
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the infos!
Congratulations for passing! I am getting nervous for next week!
