Is a new picture taken at the interview for the green card? Or do they use one of the pictures we submitted before or the picture taken at biometrics?
Biometrics pics for me, which means I wasted like $20+ for like 4 pairs of passport style pics lol.

Hello Aug 2020 filers, we had our AOS Marriage interview yesterday in LA!
We arrived at the office 15 mins early for our 8:00am appointment, went through security and waited about 5 mins after checking in. The officer called our number and we followed her to a photo copier where she took our IDs, Passports and my I-20's (I was on a F1 for 3 years). Then we followed her to her office, and she asked for my medical, she was very stern, I wouldn't say rude though, but she def wasn't friendly, but she's an officer so I wasn't expecting a warm cheery reception from her. After that she took our Marriage Certificate and then started asking me the yes or no questions on the i-485. After that she said we are here for you to become a Permanent Resident, and you need to prove you have a bonafide marriage, she then asked if we'd like to submit any evidence that wasn't in the original packet we when we applied. We gave her joint tax transcript, bank statements, bills, I am not on the lease, which she seemed bugged that my wife didn't bring the rental agreement even if I wasn't on it. She then asked for pictures only with family, so we gave her some pictures of my wife's sister and mother with us. We haven't been able to travel outside to see mine because of covid-19 but she said make sure you take some when you are together with your family for more evidence when you have to remove conditions in a year and 9 months if you are approved today. We then gave her about 6 or 7 more pics with friends, she said she didn't care about pics of just us. After that she handed us a piece of paper that said, we are reviewing your case, and she said we will get a letter in the mail within 10 days saying approved or if we need more evidence.
All in all we were at the office for a little less than an hour, and the interview portion was maybe 15 mins, she asked us zero questions outside of the i-485 questions, just address and where I worked now. About 15 mins after, I saw that the Case Statues for i-485 changed to "New Card Being Produced", i-130 still says Case Received though. I was definitely surprised by how quick it was and how she didn't ask any questions really at all. I am proud that I did all the paper work ourselves and did not get one RFE other than the i-944. So green card being produced in 11months exactly, the wait for the EAD was so painful, but there was light at the end of the tunnel.
Good luck to everyone who has interviews soon and please ask me anything!

Does anyone know how to get the usps tracking number for an EAD that has been mailed? I have an online account, but I don't see any information about it or where to find it.
Thanks!
My case status updated, and I just clicked on the USPS link on that page, and it took me right to the USPS tracking page. No need to get the number from anywhere.

I inquired about the status of my application and he told me that it was still under review but he would put in a service request for me because it was taking too long (Filed July 17, Biometrics Jan 8). He did note that after filing the request it was highly likely that they would approve the EAD card in the coming days (which they did after about 7 days) but it could take up to 30 days.
I did a e-request to look into my AP on March 2nd and they gave me a "deadline" of March 19th to reply, and on March 15th my EAD/AP were both approved. Not sure it if was the e-request or just anything else that kickstarted the approval but it kinda makes me wonder.. PD, 8/8/2020.

Even better news everyone..
QuoteAs part of its review, DHS has determined that continuing to defend the final rule, Inadmissibility on Public Charge Grounds, 84 Fed. Reg. 41,292 (Aug. 14, 2019) (2019 Rule), is neither in the public interest nor an efficient use of limited government resources. Consistent with that decision, the Department of Justice will no longer pursue appellate review of judicial decisions invalidating or enjoining enforcement of the 2019 Rule.
DHS and USCIS will provide additional updates regarding the administration of the public charge ground of inadmissibility, including announcing when DHS will cease applying the 2019 Rule.

Guess this will be gone in a few months.
Pretty much. According to the Executive Order for the review of the public charge rule on Feb.2, Biden's Admin must submit the report which is April 2, 2021. So that plus the SCOTUS news today, all good news.
Quote(b) Within 60 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of State, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall each submit a report to the President describing any agency actions identified pursuant to subsection (a)(ii) of this section and any steps their agencies intend to take or have taken, consistent with subsection (a)(iii) of this section.

It seems we will have good news about Public charge soon: https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/09/politics/doj-dismiss-case-public-charge-rule/index.html
Positive news, so much confusion regarding this damn form.
from reddit:
QuoteYeah, we just saw this. The SCOTUS dismissal today will have to filter down to the circuit courts of appeals and then to the district courts (like N.D. Illinois, W.D. WA, etc). There will likely be a gap in time before a formal decision is issued. One of my colleagues thinks this would most likely come in the form of a stipulated resolution agreed to by both parties. Then we can expect guidance from USCIS implementing the change. So, at the end of the day, the I-944 should be going away, but we can't kick dirt on its grave just yet

Hi! What’s the approximate time wait between “case was updated to show fingerprints were taken” and getting the EAD?
1-2 weeks all the way to 90+ days.

okay so my i-485 changed to Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview but still no no EAD/AP, it's been about 60+ days since bio appointment.
I highly doubt we'll get the interview soon cause our FO says 13-30.5 months for i-485 approvals, but nonetheless some movement.

We checked his case status' and his EAD shows "New Card Is Being Produced!"
YAY!!! 💜💜
It's so crazy because they never asked for any evidence for the EAD expedite. The AP is still showing as expedite received but I'm slightly hopeful that they just went ahead and approved both because he was so close to approval date anyway. I guess we will find out once it gets mailed to us.
Yay for being able to be productive, drive with a local license and have a SSN!
Congrats! So they expedited it just based on your request through Emma and you never ended up having to send them anything at all ?

Biometrics for my AOS and EAD was scheduled Tuesday, Jan 19. USCIS closed all ASCs nationwide for two days (because of inauguration) on Jan 19-20. Called support and they said the appointment will be rescheduled automatically.
lol why are they auto-scheduling for days like xmas eve and inauguration day only to have to move you to another day that might not be for weeks. Silly.

Since the EAD and AP halted when our I-944 RFIE was issued, should we update our timeline and add the RFIE date to the EAD and AP sections as well to give us a more accurate estimate? I’m curious to know what everyone else put on their timelines for this.
what do you mean halted? People have gotten their EAD in their hands without even sending their i-944s back yet.. I don't think your i-944 for your i-485 halted your i-765 and/or i-131 because of a bunch of us got Bio appointments while we were still working on our i-944s. But who knows, every case, city, etc seems to be different it seems.

I just got RFE for i944 and I am working on it. I have not got biometric letter yet. USCIS said in my RFE letter that they will not take any action on my case until they get i944 requested paper. I am surprised you got biometric letter although you have not sent off RFE to USCIS yet 😀
If you look through this thread you'll notice that they are working on I-944 and Biometrics at the same time. I got my Bio appointment letter before I sent my I-944 back, and someone got their EAD before sending their i-944 back.

Had my Bio appointment today as well, 9am in LA was out within 10 mins. Case status just updated for i-485/i-765 - "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken".

Hello AOS August Filers,
Update: My wife did her biometrics appointment for I-485 today and she received a notification yesterday that her EAD card is being produced! Also, we got her foreign education documents today as well! We are just waiting on one more document and will have I-944 send off again by the end of next week hopefully!
Just want to thank everyone for posting their updates and questions because it has been very helpful!
Wait wow, that is great news.

Congrats! Hoping my letter is good news like yours!
So good news for me, got my Biometrics appointment NOA today in the mail, Dec 22 for me. It seems to be for I-485/I-765 which means they seem to be doing I-944 & Biometrics at the same time. I'm sending my I-944 on Monday even though it's "blocked" in CA right now (as I mentioned on the last page). California is kind of a mess right now cause of Covid so I hope the center stays open.
Hoping all the August filers who are still waiting get their NOAs for Bio soon!

Have you received RFIE before?
Got my RFIE for i-944 2 weeks ago, sending it in on Monday. Same boat as you.
I see Public charged was "blocked" in some states including CA but I'm still sending on Monday.
