It wasn’t difficult, the only thing you should prepare in advance is the ticket from Mexico to the US. In Amsterdam the lady from the check in counter asked me to show it to her, and then in México they asked me again at the customs. So be sure to buy your ticket in advance

After my fiancee arrives we will get married as soon as possible. Then I can place her under my health insurance.

I really hope all of you can make it into the US too!! I would definitely recommend traveling to Mexico! My POE was Charlotte btw, nearly empty. It was super fast

My flight to the US is tomorrow (well technically today cause it’s 12:45 am here but I can’t sleep lol). Our flight is at 1:35 pm! I feel pretty anxious not gonna lie

Romania is an option right? Pretty much all of Europe can still go to Romania. TAROP (the Romanian airline) is suspending flights till at least May 28th is the only con. You can fly to many US cities from Romania with a lay-over in Istanbul.

Hello!
For those who have been contemplating Croatia to then fly to the US, I have found some info on the website of the US Embassy in Zagreb. Apparently the entrance restriction is currently in effect through June 15 but "If you need to transit through or travel to Croatia, please send an email to the Croatian Ministry of Interior Border Police at uzg.covid@mup.hr to learn whether you are eligible to enter Croatia."
Additionally, "If you are permitted entry, any foreign nationals, including U.S. citizens, traveling to Croatia may be ordered to self-isolate or spend 14 days in official government quarantine facilities. Placement in quarantine is at the expense of the traveler."
https://hr.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information-2/
Saw some direct flights to Florida (and other with a layover in Istanbul) from the Zagreb airport as of beginning of June. I am going to send them an email just to check if they would allow EU nationals with valid US visas enter, stay there 14 days as per the quarantine guidelines, and then fly to the US. I will keep you posted!

No worries! There is so much information flying around these days that it is so easy to get mixed up now and then!

Hello! I also have similar problems to all y'all...
I have a J-1 visa and am supposed to be working in Florida starting June 1st. I am also looking for a way to get into the US.
I am honestly willing to fly to either Mexico or Turkey when they reopen and quarantine there for 14 days. Will probably do that somewhere between June 1st and June 15th.
Let me know if any of you have similar plans and we can meet up in either countries because I don't want to be in this by myself.

What we have found is the approved visas by posts and visa class
this is the site for NIV nonimmigrant and K1 falls in this catergory
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-statistics/nonimmigrant-visa-statistics/monthly-nonimmigrant-visa-issuances.html
BTW no stats since March 2020

Just an FYI I read about someone else trying to go through Croatia on another thread and they were only able to find one flight which unfortunately had a layover in Frankfurt 😕

The last part of the email looks a bit positive, although the rest of the email not so much.
Thank you for sharing! At least we are more than clear about this waiver part now

I feel the same way, long-distance relationship is already challenging and on top of that, we have to deal with this ban.
I still believe love is stronger, we will find a way to go through these tough times!

Can the 2 of you meet (even if in a different country) and marry
you just applied for k1 in february not too long into the visa to change
and there are so many benefits to CR1 expecially with the new fees proposed for the AOS after marriage

Thanks, I will discuss this possibility with my fiance. Might make sense to start all over with the spousal visa.

Hi Leah,
Thank you for your inputs. The medical exam was made before the proclamation and this one is specifically related to Covid-19 so I am afraid it is irrelevant here :(
The provision (ix) explicitly refers to “the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or their designees” and I am assuming the Consulates are not part of such “designees”. From my understanding, only those authorities may grant an exemption

Oh, I super don't want to be correct on this, but considering that at this point every country has a ban that's nowhere near getting lifted, I doubt that this one will, even if it was tied to the pandemic.
