  1. Hello VJ Forum,

I decided to shared the withdrawal process with the forum in case someone else needs to reference it. After deciding to withdrew my petition, I couldn't find much information on here and I said I would come back and share; hopefully, no one else will need it.

The petition was submitted 20 April 2020. I contacted USCIS to inquired of the process of withdrawing the petition and here is the information needed:

In order to withdraw the petition you MUST send in a letter to request withdrawal, no need to go into details. The letter  must include yours and beneficiary full name, your address, your phone number, the Receipt Number (WAC XXXXXXXX), and the beneficiary A #, if applicable. You must sign and date the letter.

Mail letter to the Service center that processed your case. California processed mine and the mailing address:

    24000 Avila Road

    2nd Fl/Room 2312

    Laguna  Niguel, CA 92677.

I am waiting on receipt for the letter.

I am really grateful to this forum for being so helpful during the process of the application. I did the entire K-1 myself because of this forum, without RFI and it was approved. Just unfortunate. It is what it is. We live and learn and do better next time. I did gained a great friend from here while going through this process  (Hi! @Linneku2023 🤗) and although I am no longer in the process I will check in here and there.

    Good luck to everyone.

  2. So, I've decided to pulled our petition. I won't go into details because it's personal.

But I will say that him and I are no longer together.

I will update you all about what all was required to do this. I figured since there weren't much information about this process, I will report back.

I will continue to hang around and cheer you all on but...I'm no longer on the VJ myself.

Good luck to you all and hope you will start hearing good news soon.

    Hi there,

I tried that but it doesn't make sense for US citizens. My fiance' didn't file online so we can't do it through USCIS online services and then the AR-11is for Alien residents... so I'm super confused on what form or how I got about how he should change his address.

Oh okay. Maybe someone else has been through it can share. I often times ask Emma, the virtual assistant. Good luck.

    QUESTION/HELP!

My American Fiance' is about to be moving to a new address how do we let USCIS know? I thought we needed to fill out I-865, Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address form but apparently that's not correct. What do I do?

    @M & T, here's the information provided on the site.  https://www.uscis.gov/addresschange

Expand, "How to Change Your address"

    Hello,

I have  questions about obtaining the ghana police certificate. Do you really need to take the hard copy of your passport or a soft copy will suffice? Also, I thought it was 120 ghana cedis  to obtain it? Because I was told that if you have traveled outside the country within 6 months, you have to pay 1200 ghana cedis. Thank you.

Yes, you'll need the official passport.

1200GHC?! I haven't read anyone sharing this experience before, in the old threads about Police Cert, I saw. However,  hopefully someone can chime-in on that part of your question.

    Best of luck to you!

I lived in three different apartments over about a four month span. For question 9, where is says list all of your physical addresses for the last five years, should I list all three of these addresses?

Also, for question 50, should I include Spain as one of the places I resided in?

    Thanks!

Re: Q#9::  Yes, list each address. Doing so up front relinquish the possibility of then asking for more information/RFE

Re# 50:: Yes, definitely include Spain since you listed it above.

Also, for question 8, what does "In care of name" mean?

Re: #8:: "In care of" Basically means someone else receiving your mail; for example, if you're not able to get it delivered to your mailing address and you will choose to have it delivered at a family member's house instead:..i.e.

Don't be like me and put your name as your "in care of". My NOA1 had C/O my name then follow by my name again! 🤦‍♀️

Hope this helps and good luck on your journey!

We first met in 2018. I was a tourist in Nepal and he was working there at the time. We spent some time together then and had a strong bond, but for reasons I won't go into here, we decided not to pursue a relationship then. We did stay in touch, though, and last year, we decided to start a relationship, and I visited him earlier this year. We spent a combined three and a half weeks together during this most recent trip.

So that might count as two times meeting in person?

Yes, that definitely counts as two visits; just have the passport stamps to show and pictures will be a bonus. Good luck on your journey!

Hello everyone, my wife and I need some help with regards to the calculation of household income with a daughter who'll soon turn 18. Do we still have to count her as part of our household when filing? She still lives with my wife.

    Yes. Household size is 3.

Hello, our I-129F got approved April 8th at the California Service Center. We got a letter saying it will now be sent to NVC. For those of you who have gone through this process, how do you know if the NVC has received the package from USCIS other than calling them (which is not allowed at the moment according to their website). Did you get a letter mailed to the petitioner’s home address? Or was it an email? Is there a way you can check? We tried the state dot gov CEAC page and entered our case (WACxxxxxxxxxx) but it didn’t come back with any results

    Thank you!

I'm working on the I-129F filing and am beginning to assemble evidence of having met in the past 2 years. A few questions, and sorry in advance for the length.

I keep reading about including boarding passes to show I was in the country where my fiance is. I didn't keep the physical boarding pass from my recent visit. What about sending a copy of my ticket confirmation from when I purchased the ticket? Together with passport stamps showing I was in India, I think that's evidence I really went there. Also, I am supposed to be getting a bill from the State Department for a U.S. Embassy-chartered repatriation flight I took back from India amidst the pandemic lockdown of the country, so I think that ought to be strong evidence, too, since it's from the State Department itself.

Second, I won't go into the entire story, but due to an emergency hospitalization while I was in India and the pandemic lockdown that ended up coinciding with that hospitalization, my fiance has a letter from the hospital, on the hospital's letterhead and with the hospital's stamp, that states he was at the hospital with me to attend to me. The letter states both of our names and lists the relevant dates. Since this letter is from a third party, does it seem like strong evidence that we were in each other's presence in the past two years? The only possible drawback I see is that the letter refers to him as my "friend." We are a same-sex couple and because of widespread negative attitudes toward homosexuality in India, we generally didn't make a point of telling hospital staff that we are boyfriends. But I could include a short explanatory note with the letter explaining that point to USCIS.

Additionally, during the same time I was in the hospital, I sent an email to the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi about some issues relating to the lockdown. In the email, I stated, among other things, that I was with my boyfriend and I gave his name. Given that the email was to the U.S. Embassy, I think including a copy of it could provide some additional proof. Sure, someone could fake such an email, but it would be pretty bold to do so since they could potentially confirm whether I really sent it to the Embassy.

I also have pictures I could include from my recent visit, but from what I read, those may be less direct evidence than some of the things I mentioned.

So my main question is whether the pieces of evidence I mentioned sound sufficient to show we were in each other's presence in the past two years. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated!

@joe.b, I believed the ticket confirmation and passport stamp will suffice. However, I am wondering how many times have you seen your partner?
