    Hi all,

We are beginning to put together our AOS package and have a question regarding what must be submitted with the Advanced Parole I-131 form.

On the checklist of required initial evidence it asks:

    • If you are an applicant for adjustment of status, a copy of a USCIS receipt as evidence that you filed the adjustment application

Can someone confirm exactly what this is?

    Many Thanks

If you’re submitting I131 separately you need to include the receipt (NOA) of I485. If you’re submitting at the same time then it doesn’t apply.

    Hi all,

I have a few questions regarding the AOS package, any advice would be great.

    1. Is at necessary to submit continued proof of evidence of relationship? I have seen some people saying they have submitted additional photos etc. Surely our marriage certificate should be enough proof?
    2. Should my wife change her bank account to a joint account? (I am the beneficiary). I have already been added to her insurance and I have enough savings to help demonstrate that I won't be inadmissible based on the public charge ground

You definitely want to show as much proof of Bonafide relationship as you can. In theory marriage certificate is enough, but not in practice.

Merging your finances is one of the most important factor used to prove a bonafide relationship, taxes, bank accounts, credit cards, retirement account beneficiary, anything else related to finances.

Only used paperclips for attaching the check and passport photos.  Had nothing else since all of my office supplies are at work and now I'm working from home.  I've heard they can everything right away so it may just be more work for USCIS to un-attach a bunch of paper clips for a petition.

I don’t know how USCIS works but I got my texts in 3 working days and I used paper clips.

Thanks! To be specific how did you use the paper clips? Lets say you are giving last 12 months statement for a checking and savings account. Would you put 12 small paper clips to individual month and an acco clip/big paper clip to all 12 months or just one big clip and the tab on the overall thing?

I used regular paper clips for similar group of documents, 12 statements would be one Clíp. Then a big one for each 485, 864, and small clips for 765 and 131 (and all the required documents for each form.

Question for all that have filed already? How did you assemble the package? There are mix opinions out there.

    1. Did you guys put the stick note? If yes did you use regular sticky note at the bottom or side?

    2. Did you hole punch the top with two holes?

    3. Did you pack each form, I485, I130, I765, I131 individually in a different brown envelope or all together. Thanks.

    1) Sticky tabs on top.

    2) No holes, used paper clips.

    3) All AOS forms in one envelope.

Already got 4 texts so it was okay.

Hi all, I sent off my AOS packet on the 14th and it was received by the USCIS on the 16th. But no NOAs as of yet so I've been fretting about it.

So I have been reading the filing tips and apparently single-sided documents should be sent? Didn't know that and sent everything double-sided (wanted to reduce amount of paper used). Do you guys know if this would cause delays, RFEs, or rejections? Thanks all!

Except for the forms I sent everything else double sided. I got the texts yesterday and had mailed the packet on 16th and was received on 17. Hopefully you get your texts soon.
