This is offensive. You can always ask someone to repeat what they are saying, but saying all this combined is just very offensive and borderline racist.

And if you got denied, it was more likely because lack of evidence in general, not because you did not have a picture. There is a long list of evidence that people take, not just a picture.

What’s racist about this? He is from Africa, African is not a race. I’m not talking about African American accent, more like Nigerian  accent. And yes, he was very rude and and uptight. He didn’t ask any substantial questions that you would expect at the interview. We had enough evidence, 3 years of leases, joint accounts, joint credit cards, retirement account beneficiary, joint car insurance, spouses name on passport, enough pictures at different places with friends and family, what else do we need?

    Thanks!

What do you mean by "well prepared"? In terms of documentation or answers to interviewer's questions?

oh no, I'm sorry! Do you mind sharing what questions/evidence did they ask that you weren't prepared for?

The officer didn’t ask for too much evidence, he was very curt and mad that we didn’t have pictures from wedding celebration. We didn’t have a big celebration because being students we didn’t want to spend money on things we didn’t consider important. Other than that he just asked for each other biographical details, family information and inadmissibility questions from I485.

The celebration part pissed him off. Also he had a thick African accent and wasn’t loud enough, it was hard to understand him. He definitely was an immigrant and an ####### for sure.

@MerryMentor how was your interview? I'm guessing no questions about the form I-944? :)

With the help of a congressperson's staff my EAD was approved and delivered, so I can be back to work next week. Interview is scheduled in 2 weeks

Congratulations, I’m glad you’re able to go back to work. Good luck with the interview! make sure you’re well prepared.

We had our interview on March 11 and it didn’t go well. We were not well prepared because both of us were busy with work. It sucks and I think we maybe will have to go back for stokes interview.

So I just spent an hour online with a live representative via emma who didnt help. I called because it has been two weeks since i received the notification that my interview was scheduled but i have not received the letter. So went through the regular security questions via the representative, when they asked me for address i gave it to them. Then when they asked for my previous address i knew they probably didnt update my new address even though they sent me new address approval over a month ago. She said it takes a month to update the address on their systems? To cut a long story short she told me to check online again and read the notifications there, I told her it doesnt say anything and to wait for the post. She told me that they havent sent a letter yet and it was just a notification that my case had been scheduled 🙄🙄🙄 dunno why its so hard with the USCIS. Now trying to call and speak to someone but having trouble getting through... whats the new secret to speak to a person?

Tier 1 people are not helpful. I had one tell me I was not sent any biometrics notice, ironically I received one in mail the next day.

thanks, mine changed the same day too. I have a feeling they sent the letter to my old address even though I notified them of the change 1/1/21 and it was shown as updated on the 1/17/21 🙄

Not sure what I can do now...

There is a service request option for missed notices. https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDNForm.do;jsessionid=1BCDDD7B0515A8367C960BA41553A71D?sroPageType=ndn&entryPoint=init

Got the letter in the mail. It says I-485 & I-765 and mentions both the receipt numbers... but doesn't mention I-131 or its receipt number. Is that OK?

It also says it'll be a Code2 biometric appointment. Is Code2 needed for EAD/AP approval or Code3?

Congratulations 🍾🎊🎈 Yes, it’s okay. You might get another appointment for 131, but that’s not an issue. You’ll get a combo card with just this one. Code 2 maybe an issue though, ask the biometrics agent to take code 3 biometrics instead. The biometrics agents are usually very helpful.

Literally yesterday a Tier-2 agent called me and informed that they can see a biometric appointment for me on 12/24. I haven't received any notice yet, but they said I should get one soon. Fingers crossed I get the EAD/AP combo card soon, because my work permit through F-1 ends this month and I am going on an unpaid leave of absence until I get the EAD through AOS.

Great news! Yeah hopefully you’ll get your combo card soon. I thought I would check in to see how things were going with your application. Good luck?

Just as an update, it has been 90+ days since our local ASC opened (St. Louis, MO) and 30+ days since any communication from USCIS.

So I had a chat with an agent via Emma and they asked us to fill this form https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDNForm.do?sroPageType=ndn&entryPoint=init.

The auto-generated email after filling the form says they'll reply within 3 weeks, but some people have been saying that their reply just states that they need 60-90 more days. Who even knows what's happening anymore.

Have you received the biometrics appointment yet?

My AP/EAD card was delivered to the wrong address and has been returned to USCIS.  I want to speak with agent to hear what is their process, and to try (again) to get them to put the new address in the system.

But their AI automated response on their phone number just says wait 30 days and submit a form.    If I say "agent" it repeatedly says "let me handle it" in 4 different ways and then hangs up.

So has their inefficient customer service system gotten even MORE unhelpful - unbelievably, yes!

Anyone got any tips for getting through to an agent

Call and say you have a technical issue. Do it a couple of times and you’ll get a human on the other side. Good luck!

USCIS is terrible with giving you actual answers. I got a second biometrics appointment for 131 and I already have a combo card, like W#T#F. Somebody in need can use that time to get their biometrics.
