Im a UK born, will becoming a naturalised citizen mean I lose my UK citizenship aquired at birth or will I have dual citizenship?

When you become naturalised do you get a US passport?

If so what proof will I have im a UK citizen?

You can retain your UK citizenship.

    https://www.gov.uk/dual-citizenship

If you don't have a UK passport, you can get one at a UK, embassy or consulate.

Your birth certificate from the UK is all you need.

When you get your US citizenship, you can apply for a US passport.

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/travel-legal-considerations/Advice-about-Possible-Loss-of-US-Nationality-Dual-Nationality/Dual-Nationality.html

    You'll have 2.

  2. The below also applies to you:

    Special Issuance Passports
This tool does not reflect the correct status or delivery information for applications processed at the Special Issuance Agency, including applications for:
    • Diplomatic passports
    • Official passports
    • Service passports
    • No-fee regular passports
    • Regular Fee passports issued by SIA
To check the status of a special issuance passport application, you may either contact your federal travel office or refer to the SIA status check instructions from an official U.S. government internet connection.

Does anyone knows what happened to the spreadsheet link that reflected most recent information on the times of passport processing for some users?, that information was more clear then the one that's posted in this blog.

Some made an incorrect comment about it being unsafe. So everyone got scared off.

Yep i am not sending mine... i will wait

We are prioritizing requests for in-person SSN services for:

    • Individuals age 12 or older applying for their first SSN card.
    • Individuals who need to update or correct their SSN information (such as your name, date of birth, or citizenship) to obtain income, resources, or medical care or coverage, or other services or benefits (for example filing a tax return, applying for housing, or seeking an Economic Impact Payment).

If you believe you qualify for an in-person appointment, call your local office. You can look up the phone number for your local office by accessing our office locator. Please note that appointments may not be immediately available, depending on local health and safety conditions and staffing.

I am in Cleveland and the wait is about 4 months.

Multiple others I've seen here who got their cases approved a while back still waiting for the cards and the notices.

The reason I am rushing because I have a plan for someone who may go over the age of 21.  The timing is very close.

    4 months?? Not during COVID!!

If they say the card is being processed, then the wait is only 5 days by mail.

21?? Is this a child/adult thing? 18 is the age of maturity to sponsor a child.

In order to expedite a passport, you have to usually go to a actual passport facility ( there are about 7 spread around the US) and show proof you are actually traveling within X number of days by showing a flight itinerary or some other legit reason to expedite your passport. There are some places that say passport in 24 hours, etc. And while that is possible, it is exorbitantly expensive in my opinion. I usually wait 3-4 weeks when I renew my passport, I am going to do it around April of next year, but yeah, I'm wondering how long it will take come then. If it is your first passport it usually takes a little longer than a renewal. And I have found if you fill out the application online and use their online form that creates a special barcode on your application, they they seem to process those a lot faster because it's less manual entry, they just scan the barcode and go. I've heard the manual entry applications get shuffled to the bottom of the stack more than the scannable ones, but that's more than likely just a rumour, but who knows.

Obviously, you didn't even read my post.

It was about the expedited passports that became available a couple of weeks ago.

No you don't need to prove a flight, just pay the $60, no you don't need to go to a facility, the USPS

    will handle it.

FIY there are 26 facilities for "emergency passports"

    Please educate yourself.

See above, mine took 6 weeks, my son's is taking far longer. Yes, it was filled out online, yes I

helped him fill it out the same way as mine.

My question was, do you think they are overdoing the expedited in favor of the non expedited in the system.

Im seeing expedited being received in 1 week, not the 4 to 6 as stated.

For passport application, I have a question on the "city of birth" item that needs to be filled out.

Do I need to submit additional document showing what city I was born ? Or they'll just use what I put there?

    Thanks

Fill it  out, no need for documentation.

Only your Drivers license, and Naturalization certificate.

  9. I received my passport in 6 weeks, applied late July.

So I had my son apply mid August, its been 9 weeks.

I guess Im venting hearing that they allowed expedited passports a couple weeks ago,

and expedited passports are arriving in a week!!!!

Are they just holding his application, and just doing expedited???

Too late to call and spend the $60, as it might just get approved in the next few days, I hope!!

    Hi All,

I kindly invite your insights/inputs on the following.

Today I received a letter from USCIS stating that "USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics".

USCIS will run the same security checks and use your biometric data as in the past, however, it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for a biometrics appointment. The biometrics fee will not be refunded".

    Is this normal?

Also the service center is listed as "NBC". What is the relevance of this?

    Thank You.

National Benefits Center (NBC) The main center.

I have, but I read conflicting opinions about it. Some say you don't have to answer on the application that you have been cited traffic tickets (that don't involve being drunk or involving an accident obviously) and others state that you have to answer yes to show good moral character instead of waiting to see if the IO will bring it up on the interview day. And I haven't read a case that involves so many tickets in a period of 5 years, so while my tickets do not involve DUI or any kind of accident I'm a little bit concerned that my traffic ticket history and one of them currently being scheduled for 2021 might paint a bad picture of my case on the interview day. What if the IO asks me "Why did you plead not guilty for the ticket in progress? Wasn't the police officer right to issue you a ticket since you broke the law?" I don't know, something like that. Maybe I'm just freaking out more than I should.

I never mentioned my tickets, and its been WAAAAYYY more than 5 years!!!

  12. STRAIGHT FROM THE INSTRUCTIONS:

NOTE: You must submit documentation of traffic incidents if:
    (1) The incident involved alcohol or drugs;

    Form N-400 Instructions 09/17/19 Page 13 of 18

    (2) The incident led to an arrest; or
    (3) The incident seriously injured another person.

You do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines or incidents that did not involve an arrest or did not involve drugs or alcohol, if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500 or points on your driving record.
