Hi Jesula, congrats and goodluck for the interview. Out of the topic I would like to ask how did you submit the police clearance in CEAC part? which i believe we cant get that one because we can only sign for a police vetting and they will be the one who would send it to the us consulate.

My case is quite different as my husband already resided in the US

Congrats, that's great news! We haven't heard anything yet, but hopefully soon.  Good to know we won't necessarily have to wait until the 20th.  Did they take account of your need to take a visa to visit NZ or was that just the date you received? My brother is getting married in the States on 4 April and we're really hoping my husband will have the interview done and passport back, but I guess we'll see.

I am going to change my appointment, so that spot will become available. I need something in early April. I contacted the consulate and they told me they do have a later date available in April. Maybe you can slide in. The additional visa I am trying to figure that out. I put in the visa application for my husband (I am the petitioner) and the immigration officer that is handling his visa for NZ is in Beijing and they are out due to the coronavirus (just my luck). Thats why I need a later date to secure the NZ visa. rrrrrrrrrr He is from Samoa.

Hi Jesula - we just got DQ'd today for Auckland (IR1/CR1).  You might have better info now, but from everything I've seen on this site, it looks like they typically schedule/send out interview dates around the 20th of each month.  So, my guess is we'll be waiting until around Feb 20th to get an interview date.  Not sure how long the wait is now for an interview - it seems to have really varied in the last year. One person in December had their interview within three weeks after receiving the IL, but that seems pretty fast compared to others in prior months.

I got my appointment for 3/19 well wishes to you

Yes I agree, the scheduling was sporadic Last year and not very consistent. I was DQd on 1/28. I hope it comes sooner then later. I think the longest wait Ive seen is 3 months. I am also IR1.

  5. Can the consulate give a time frame for appointments or no. My situation is a bit complicated. My country doesn’t hold immigrant visas interviews. I have to go to a host country to attend. In order for me to enter the host country I have to get a visitors visa. They won’t give me a visitors visa without the appointment letter and that takes 30 days. I am not sure how to proceed, because the time frame.

Can't believe it has actually happened! Thank you guys for being so open and supportive during this process. Honestly it gets so exhausting venting about it to friends and family who don't fully understand the struggle. You all have kept me sane!!
