It takes 10/15 days , you should get the GC soon.

Thank you @sandranj...i am patiently waiting....hoping

quick question: is it safe to travel overseas as soon as green card is received? For example to mexico as learn no visa to mexico is required if green card is in place. I have some deep hesitation for traveling for some reason even if becoming LPR.

No, app showed card in production, then approved in 24hrs and my attorney received card/notice. It’s been the same way with EAD etc, so no welcome letter. I think people receive different things and experience different things at times. I know some people wait a while to get GC card due to backlog. You’re approved, so getting card in hand is just a matter of time. No need to worry. You status is in the system and that’s all that matters. Your GC number is the same number you use to check your status.

Oh thank you thank you. Will patiently wait then. Do you mean that number starting with EAC....from approved I-485 is my actual green card number?

I feel that I am learning every time

Thank you so much. I received GC and approval letter together within 2 weeks. She approved me on the spot basically. I’ve always gotten cards and approvals together. I hope it helps.

Wow that’s awesome. Did you get welcome letter showing your right of GC holder and etc.? Just want to make sure I don’t miss any required documents.

Thank you my dear. I actually have my green card now (recently approved). It’s still surreal, but I’m thankful every day.

Congrats. Could you please explain the process after your I-485 got approved?

I had mine approved 2 weeks ago. Got written approval notice this week. No green card and no welcome letter. How soon did you get green card and welcome letter?

Everything is delayed due to COVID. For example, receipts are now taking like 4-6 weeks to be received. When I filed, it was 2 weeks. That was 4 years ago

Received the approval letter. Thanks God. Do you know if online status changes when the actual green card is sent? No welcome letter - does it come with the green card or in separate (namely, 3rd mail)?

    Thank you a lot

Do you know if approval notice comes from local office and where do they produce actual green cards? I did not have interview, they sent me RFE for my medicals and I sent them in. A week after my online case status changed to approved and that i will receive my approval notice in 2 weeks. Either its just a plain vanilla message and they did not account for COVID or they just missed my letter.  Silence since then. Been 3 weeks.

EAD is issued 0-90 day after biometrics.

Looking at your timeline, you have not done biometrics yet. EAD comes 0-90 days after that. COVID has, unfortunately, added time to processing. According to what I am seeing online, it is now taking 4-6 months to get it.

    Here's how it goes:

    1. You send your application
    2. USCIS receives it and sends receipts (used to take 2 weeks. COVID has now made 4-5 weeks a norm)
    3. Shortly afterwards, like a month, you get notice to go for biometrics. This was like 3 weeks advanced notice in my case.
    4. You go for biometrics
    5.  0-90 days afterwards, you receive your EAD. COVID has moved this to 4-6 months
    6. Depending on where you stay, interview comes after 1 year. Mine was after 1.5 years since filing. COVID has also added timelines to it
    7. Depending on how long your marriage is at time of interview <2 years (2 yr GC) OR >2 years (10 yr GC).

    Hope you understand.

Thank you for sharing. Appreciate it. Have approval I-485 notices are being delayed now too due to COVID? I am past due with online status's last day of me getting the approval notice. Has anyone used their electronic inquiry system for missing notices?

If it says they mailed it, then you wait. And be patient. No trying to be mean, but none of us here can give you a definite answer in that regards.

    I doubt.

Thanks. Has anyone here received a green card and what was the process / steps of receiving after approval? Best advice is from previous experience.

Hello there..with USCIS it can go any way with their messy selves! But usually after you get the card production notification, the card is sent to you, next.is the approval update after which the approval notice is sent..at least that's how mine and a host of other petitioners here went.😊👍 congrats to all who got approved..just seeing a lot of approvals..looking good already!😀🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thank you. Yeah - having online status saying that approval notice is sent (since last week). Nothing mentioned about card production. Hope things will work out here....

Wow congratulations dear! Now this is a big blessing!!! Your green card will be sent over and the approval notice! I'm excited for you!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙌😀

Thank you @Stillwinning!!!😊. Thank you @sandranj. Thank you @Engineering-rocks and many many others for all your support!!!

    my timeline (atlanta)

    I-360 / I-485 filed in Nov 2018. I-360 approved in April 2020. I-485 approved in Nov 2020.

can someone help me to see guidance for rules to maintain the green card. I heard that one must be in the US at least 6 months a year. Also, in 2.5 years I can apply for citizenship. Anything else I am missing?

In your case USCIS requested for you to send it in no? I'm assuming yes. If so, it can take 2-3 months more or less for an outcome.👍 wait for it.😊

Yep - they requested it and I mailed it to them. I found that my I-486 status on their website has not changed for a while - even when I got medical RFE or courtesy letter on medicals. Do you they update status at least when green card is approved or I should wait for my lawyer to tell me as mails come to lawyers office?

It's been said countless times here that you should only get the medicals done only when you have an interview date except USCIS specifically request for it to be sent it. So save yourself the trouble and wait..except of course you plan to send it in without them asking..💁

Thanks @Stillwinning!!!😊 I sent my medicals to local office after receiving an RFE from them. Been 2 weeks already since mailed. Would you know how long it takes for them to make a decision?

would you think uscis won’t punish me if I have been applying for DV lottery until last year but before I360 was approved? Won’t do it this year....

got i360 approved and awaiting I485 decision
