I agree, this is why we need to stay on top of things. Later this month when the visa issuances for the month of April are released I expect to see more immediate relative (IR1, IR2, K1, & K2)  visas issued than the previous month. And that trend should continue as we progress through this year. Embassy in Haiti will use all excuses possible  from covid to insecurity to issue minimal immigrant  visas to Haitians. We as U.S. citizen petitioners are our family member's only advocates. The  embassy in Haiti needs to know we are privy to what is going on. Meanwhile the neighboring country is issuing twice as much immigrant visas although they have more cases of covid. Hence why I advise those waiting 18 months or longer for their beneficiaries interview to be scheduled to be proactive. Call the Haiti  embassy tell them you aware of the prioritization for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens to get their interviews scheduled by the direction of the department of state. Embassy in Haiti needs to get the ball rolling, the backlog will not clear with just 140 IR1 visas issued a month. The backlog for interviews in Haiti dates back to 2019! We're practically in the middle 2021! Very ridiculous. The DR did 347 in March, I hate to compare but I have to.

You're welcome, please let us know how it goes. I was documentarily qualified in July 2020 so I'm a long way from interview. However, for anyone DQ'd (for Haiti) in mid to late 2019 they should have gotten an interview already, gotten an interview letter, or be close to an interview. CR1/IR1 are the priority along with other categories where the petitioner is a U.S. citizen. Non immigrant visa Categories and non-citizen petitioners should not get interviews before backlog of CR1/IR1 is cleared. We U.S. citizens qualified to vote and going through this immigration process with our love ones are part of the reason this biden administration is in place, they need to be  held accountable. Their campaign promoted and promised a better and fair immigration system, this is their chance to make that a reality.

The visa issuances for the month of March 2021 have been released. Embassy in Haiti issued 141 IR1 visas and only 2 CR1.  In my opinion if they double that amount of interviews going forward they could clear the backlog sooner. I read that all embassies and consulates have been directed to prioritize IR1, IR2, CR1, CR2, and K1. I suggest that anyone waiting for interview in Haiti and DQ'd from July 2019 and August 2019 to contact the embassy and emphasize their awareness that their visa category is of high prioritization based on information released by the state department. Also, emphasize that you are DQ'd from July or August 2019. Family of U.S citizens are supposed to be getting their interviews scheduled first. Embassy of Haiti needs to know that we are aware of what is supposed to be getting done, otherwise they will drag their feet.

Are they really getting her out? The biden administration needs to know of her unfair treatment to Haitian families waiting for visa interviews. There's no reason why they shouldn't be interviewing DQ's from at least mid 2020. CR1/ IR1 should be top priority at the embassy. They're still on DQ's from 2019 thats absolutely insane. Waiting 2 years for an interview is ridiculous. If they do 200 CR1/IR1 interviews each month at the embassy they will be all caught up in no time. The simple fact is that they don't want to.

I applied for my fiance february 2021. Our case is currently at NVC. I feel so scared and discouraged when I see people since 2019-2020 don't have an Interview. I know there's COVID but other embassy are way faster than that. Haiti is just  messed up in every way. So much suffering before we can be with our loved ones. Can you guys please update your timeline so we can compare and get an estimate. Thanks every, good luck everyone!

Hello everyone,  just wanted to give an update about my husband visa interview. October 6th, 2021
    PD-May 13, 2018
    DQ-September 3,2019
So everything went great at he's interview, except they requested more updated documents, since the ones they had were from 2018. They gave him instructions and website on what to do to resubmit my 2020 tax info, W2 , Sponsor if I needed one, and Baby original BC. So he's visa is "on hold" until they receive those documents.(,They also kept he's passport and other original documents, like marriage certificate) Once they receive the documents they will issue he's visa!!!!! And send back all of our original documents. I sent the documents they requested yesterday through DHL international, which is one of the ways they said we could send it.

i agree dq'ed oct 2, 2020 for my kids and husband the only thing that keeps me from going crazy is visiting. i just got back in feb and suppose to talk my family to the decameron beach in nov for our 3 yrs anniversary but now we are thinking other plans now. it's crazy it's like haiti want the people to stay there because the more countries and families in the united states send the more they make them rich. it's also crazy that day in and day out i have watched so many k1s get approved while the family sit and watch. it was the corona then they still say corona and now the embassy is not operating with a full staff. ive been going to haiti since 2014 none stop and the level has always been 4 but they through that in as well. sometimes i just want to cry and give up their so back logged for family/spousal visas people are waiting since end of 2018 or beginning/ middle of 2019. there is no hope help at this point if they keep closing for their holidays us holidays and every little thing our families will not make it over here sorry to think like that but this is what i feel in my heart. i can't live over there because there will be no income but dang you can't even go over their heads haiti is the head and in control. this is one time in my life someone has control and i don't like this feeling. i still pray for everyone and myself at this point and i agree the only way they will make it and have no problems is coming illegally hey biden gave them a pass before doing something about the back logs talking about it is doing nothing. i am getting pissed as i write so let me stop now. prayers for all of us

DQ Oct. 2020 and no appt. This is so painful. It's been 15 years since I've seen my family. The way Haiti is going, I can't go visit them. I was really hoping they'd come before vaccination becomes mandatory for traveling. I hate it here..... ... .............😢😢😢😢😢😢 so sick of this (removed) everyone were running their mouth saying if you're a citizen it'll only be 6 months blah blah blah. (removed) its been 2 years and still suffering. Tired of watching my family suffer and Haiti getting worse by the minute.I wish I knew how to get them here illegally because I dont (removed) care anymore. Haiti is (removed) slow with everything. Tired of hearing Corona Corona.

At this point, I feel like we as petitioners should do something like calling the news stations, writing the president because clearly there s some type of discrimination against Haitians. Last week, I checked, DR who had and still dealing with Covid was doing interviews for people of June 2020 and Haiti is not even in August 2019. Like this is just plain wrong. And if we don't do something,  Haiti is about to get worse especially with the election coming up in October. How are they canceling all Immigrants visas but yet doing other type of interviews. Something don't add up and us petioners have to pray and fight for our rights.

What bothers me is I know someone who was approved January 2021 .. they’re interview is next month . I spoke to someone personally about it that works there and they had the nerve to tell me it’s a luck and it’s complicated . What about the people that’s been waiting 2 years ? Reading the timelines I noticed some people waiting since 2019 and people dq sept 2019 without an interview date yet but there was people dq in December 2019 that already had an interview months ago . I really don’t think things are in order

That's great! I created something like this earlier this year for my own informational purposes to see where I stood in the process of waiting for interview. I'll inbox you. It's from what I gathered from people on this site who are CR1/IR1 same category as my wife. DQ dates and visa journey members profile names. I haven't updated it with any recent DQ's or people who were documentarily qualified after I was.

Something suspicious is definitely going on in the immigrant unit at this embassy! I have been saying this for a long time now. It seems to me that the xenophobic immigration policies of the previous U.S. presidential  administration somehow still linger around at the consular section of the U.S embassy in Haiti. They need new leadership ASAP. Perhaps the ambassador there is complicit in making sure minimal visas are issued to Haitians. Every excuse is used from covid to insecurity in Haiti. Meanwhile us U.S. petitioners suffer the traumatic thought that our family members that we are  petitioning for may be kidnapped or harmed while they are waiting 2+ years for a stinking interview! That alone  is all the more reason for them to  speed things along and get the interviews scheduled. But they obviously don't care about us. I'm sick and tired of them treating Haitians like ish! Moreover, no knock on them but  DR (our neighbor) has way more covid cases but yet has not canceled interviews for june. 🤔

OMG Haiti embassy need to stop their ish so this is the new update I see on here https://ht.usembassy.gov/visas/ what the hell the only country that is really trying to keep people there that can't do nothing for them or no one else WOW I say WoWWWW.
The U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince thanks consular customers for their patience as we continually work to serve the public while mitigating the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Due to the recent increase in incidence of COVID-19 in Haiti, and for the health and safety of our clients and staff, the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince has further reduced the number of daily in-person visa appointments.
The Nonimmigrant Visa Unit is offering a limited number of in-person appointments for student visas in the F, M, and J visa classes and a limited number of in-person appointments for petition-based visas, such as H, L, P, and R visa classes.  We are continuing to process a limited number of Interview Waiver (IW)/Visa Renewal applications on a limited basis, which must be scheduled online as drop-off appointments.  We are not processing any other nonimmigrant visa classes at this time.
The Immigrant Visa unit has CANCELLED all remaining June 2021 visa appointments.  We will work to reschedule these appointments as soon as conditions permit.  We will continue to process cases for adopted children of U.S. citizens, cases in which an applicant would otherwise “age out” of a visa category, and certain emergency cases.  Emergency appointment requests for documentarily qualified cases are considered on a case-by-case basis.  Immigrant visa applicants seeking an emergency appointment should submit their request, together with supporting documentation, directly to the National Visa Center (NVC) for consideration.  NVC can be contacted at: https://nvc.state.gov/ask.

I maintain my theory that this is part of a continued effort to give minimal immigrant visas to Haitians. Just when things are headed in the right direction, they find an excuse. There is something particularly suspicious about what's going on at this embassie's immigrant visa unit. Other countries have a higher rate of covid than Haiti does, but haven't canceled interviews for june! (like our neighbor). It's like they purposely want us to wait more than 2 years for interviews. If that's the case just tell us that, stop coming up with bull-ish excuses to keep us separated from our familles longer. We all should contact an activist movement or something, awareness & attention needs to be brought to the mischievous practices of this embassy.

This is inhumane! How do these people sleep at night knowing there are U.S. citizens separated from their spouses because of an interview standing in their way. We're doing things the legal way but still have to wait almost 2 years or more in some cases for a stinking interview...totally absurd.
