  1. Hi everyone, I am in a bit of a pickle. I have travel plans outside of the country but I just received my denial in the mail.

I applied for a I751 when I became eligible (came here on K1, adjusted status, etc). My conditional green card arrived with an error and I immediately submitted the I90 to get that fixed. Well, it took USCIS two years to say no and that’s after it already expired, so I wasn’t surprised that that happened.

However, I have a stamp that is based on the pending I90. My question is as follows: can I still travel and return safely, or do I need to go to a field office yet again to get it? I just got this one in August of this year.

Ahh got it. Lol not sure what is the use of creating and getting online access code then? I thought accessing notices/letter would have been a better feature.

I am unsure. My AOS and K1 are on there (I can’t remember whether I put them in manually or not) and they’re empty - status is current of course - but I filed my i90 online and it has all of my uploads and their notices. Maybe it’s a good idea to have your cases there and it should get updated as they progress

Does anyone know if this Documents section on the USCIS online account supposed to be empty? I thought we would be able to see the notices/letters sent so far. This is the first time i have been assigned with an online case number.

I received the online access code in the mail yesterday.

I believe that part isn’t empty only if you file and upload everything online. If you sent everything by mail, then it will be empty.

  4. I am in a bit of an interesting situation. Adjusted status from K1. When I received my conditional green card, it arrived with an error. I immediately submitted i90, which is still pending. That was almost two years ago. I’m now about to submit i751. My question is as follows: can I travel abroad after receiving the notice that my green card is extended (797c that follows submission of the i751), or do I have to ask for the i551 stamp?

We had our interview on 8/16. We got an RFE for the I-693, it came like a day or two after the interview notice. I'm not an expert, but in my opinion, if they haven't asked for it, you don't need it. It seems like USCIS is pretty good about being explicit about letting you know if they need something. Also, upthread I mentioned this alert issued Friday, which says the I-693 is now valid for 4 years (rather than 2), due to COVID delays (as long as a decision on the applicant’s Form I-485 is issued on or before Sept. 30, 2021).

At our interview, we turned in the I-693's and our interviewer basically said, "yeah, it's too bad, you didn't really need that since they just made it good for 4 years" ... could have saved some money!

I just saw that! Heh, my interview is literally a day before that alert expires. There's enough time I believe to compile everything... but I feel anxious since my wife is paying for most of our things since, you know, I can't work.

    You received a COURTESY letter.

    Consider it junk mail IF:

    "4. K or V Nonimmigrants Applying for Adjustment [26]

K and V nonimmigrants applying for adjustment of status are not required to repeat the medical examination if the application was filed within one year of the date of the original medical examination, and:

The medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition; or

The applicant received a conditional waiver in conjunction with the K or V nonimmigrant visa or the change of status to V and the applicant submits evidence of compliance with the waiver terms and conditions. [27]

If a new medical examination is required and reveals a Class A medical condition, a new waiver application will also be required. In such cases, the officer should determine whether the applicant complied with the terms and conditions of the first waiver, if applicable. Such determination should be given considerable weight in the adjudication of a subsequent waiver application. [28]

Even if a new medical examination is not required, applicants must still comply with the vaccination requirements if the vaccination record was not included as part of the original medical examination report. If the vaccination report was properly completed at the time of the overseas examination, the officer may accept the vaccination assessment completed by the panel physician.

An applicant’s overseas medical examination report completed by a panel physician should already be in the applicant’s A-file. If it is not in the A-file, the officer should request the medical examination report through a Request for Evidence (RFE).

If the applicant was granted a change of status to V in the United States, [29] the medical examination report completed by the civil surgeon should be in the A-file created at the time that the change of status was initially granted."

    *******************************************************
If you complied with the above and filed AOS within one year of your overseas medical exam date, the I693 and its procedures/policies do not apply to you as a K1 applicant. It does not matter when your AOS interview happens, as long as you filed AOS within one year of the overseas medical exam date (and you meet the above conditions), your medical will never expire.
Submit a photocopy of your personal copy of the DS3025 Vaccination Record with I485 and bring your personal copy to the AOS interview as back up.
Your actual overseas medical exam documents were collected at your POE as they were IN your sealed K1 Visa packet and will be sent from CBP to DHS for storage in your A-file.
Your interviewing officer will collect your A-file for review at your AOS interview or shortly after and confirm that your previously submitted K1 medical exam and vaccinations meet the requirements.

So the two big questions are:

    1. Is your DS3025 marked complete? Check the bottom left corner for the checkbox that says "K1 Visa applicant voluntarily completed vaccination requirements"

    2. Will USCIS receive and issue you a receipt number within one year of your overseas medical date to have complied with the one year submission requirement?

If yes, you have completed the medical requirements to adjust status.

Hm, mine is marked as "Immigrant visa or parolee applicant completed vaccination requirements" although I'm a K1 visa holder. I got no RFEs and my AOS interview is scheduled for the end of September. Should I be concerned?

So, they wanted the original transcripts. My wife had her transcripts, but it was not sealed in a envelope with the school letterhead as they wanted it. In Brazil, they don't do it like that, so I just took the transcripts down to there office and they accepted it. I'm pretty sure you can do a scanned version of the original transcripts, but I would call just to make sure. I don't think so, you will need a certified translator to translate it. I would call to see if you can. Here is the translation service I used: https://www.languex.co/ I hope this helps!

I used a translator, however I sent scans of transcripts - due to COVID, there was no way to obtain originals anyway, and I got what they called “provisional” translation. I haven’t gotten a RFE. Hope this helps.

You can give them your wife's SSN. Call them and let them know and they'll go over the whole application with you so be prepared to take like an hour aside for this. If anything, they may want her to make an account and set it up and you have the payment set up on her account, not sure...

I've done this but I was the citizen with SSN and added my Husband which he didn't have any SSN at the time.

Edit: If they are asking for more document, it would've mentioned it in your marketplace email/PDF file. It tell you what they need, same in the mail. Or share it here and I can help you. Just mark out any ID's.

I called and I believe they're struggling with instructions. The woman said I should upload the request for EAD, basically (so I did)...

They're asking to verify the social security number (that's what the pdf said on the portal), and apparently I can upload a social security card or tax stuff, or a paystub... I've attached the notice.

To me, it makes sense that I should upload hers since we submitted her paystub, but the customer service representative said it should be mine... What do you think?

  9. Hello all,

I'm currently waiting for next steps after NOA1 for my AOS. I applied for health insurance via marketplace, I uploaded my wife's pay stub, picked and paid for first month's premium, but now they're asking for more documents. I believe they're asking for an SSN, which I don't have since I applied for it along with my EAD. Are they asking for mine or my wife's? Does anyone have experience with Marketplace? Thanks in advance!

Some consulates put in the Annotations section:

    bwQC7ze.jpg

Other consulates don't put it on the visa at all.

But it should be above the beneficiary's name on the I-129F approval notice:

    I-797-Notice-of-Approval-I-129F-Official

Ha! I managed to find it on my NOA2, thankfully (thanks to you so thank you yet again). My K1 doesn't have it; the number in red (visa number) on mine starts with P, and the number on annotation is something different... Starting with WAC and not even similar to A number. It's odd that they're not uniform!

We have not yet submitted the I-944, but as of now we have the tax year and return total for the non-USC applicant as "N/A". I agree that the question seems to be asking about a U.S. tax return, but I don't like the ambiguous wording and would love to hear from others.

The evaluation service we are planning on using is IEE. The $80 option is their general report, which right now is a "provisional" evaluation as described here.

This is the best option I have found given some of the difficulty in getting education documentation together during the pandemic, but I recall seeing other companies from the NACES list with similar price ranges.

Great! Thank you. I’m waiting for the translations for my diplomas so I can send them for evaluation... I don’t have HS transcripts, but I presume university ones will suffice.

One thing that confuses me is... do I need to send anything re medical at all? I completed my medical oversees, they are supposed to have that, I can attach the vaccination records of course... I don’t know if I’m supposed to go see a doctor here (frankly I’m scared of Covid). Can I even send the package without the i693?
