I am aware that there are people who were supposed to have their interviews first week of Jan 2022 cancelled/postponed due to covid. Anyone else here who have experienced that?
-
-
Just out of curiosity, anyone here received their EAD the very least?
-
Specifically for 2021:
Just wondering anyone who have gotten their case update regarding "ready to be scheduled for an interview" this year. I know what this means is that the interview has yet to be scheduled and I have heard of timeline ranging from 1 week to weeks for this year. Anyone have to wait for months?
-
Yes. It happened to me recently. My appointment was last month in June and no update then I get info about my 485 is ready for schedule with EAD and AP still no online update.
-
-
They did not state the effective date...
-
I got my biometric appointment scheduled for mid june! Mail came in last weekend, unexpectedly. No any notifications. I am an early March filer.

Can I just say that I am feeling homesick? I am in a big town (not a city) with no friends. It makes it twice harder all in the midst of a pandemic. The weather is horrible here. To see a certain health specialists, I am at least 2.5 hours to 3 hours drive away. I am in the desert and I can't really go out for a walk whenever I want. Also, lack of job prospects for the kinda of work I used to do (I was in IT support and over here it is all retail floor jobs or agriculture driven). I am missing home badly. I had experience living in other countries prior but those experiences were no where close to this. I can't drive yet, no EAD nor AP, let alone GC. There are times I just feel like giving up and go back home. I am not readjusting well. Anyone else in similar boat as me? :(

How do we know which service center has our packet?

Detroit service center. The appointment will take place three weeks after getting mail. I wish you all to get an appointment soon
Makes sense now. Detriot was one of the handful field offices in the country that processes AOS faster, during pre-covid times, guess they kept up.
Congrats again!

Hello, everyone.
I mailed AOS doc's in March of 2nd, got NOA1 letter in April of 7th. And yesterday I got a mail from USCIS with biometric appointment.
Which field office/ASC you are at? And far away your appointment is? Congrats btw.

I am so glad this is brought up! So I have two words for my first name and it is a struggle here when it seems like people would just assume that the 2nd word of my first name is my middle name. I do not have a middle name. I didn't like how inconsistent different institution runs. Some I could get them to hyphenate my 2-word first name and others not at all. Thanks @TBoneTX for the suggestion!

Oh lol
I heard in the other group, which is on a totally different website that some were getting their appointments sent out, so was wondering. Also in my case, when I had filed few years ago, usually it was within 2 weeks I received my biometric appointment, after they sent out the NOA. So was just curious...
Like from March filers from other site? Please help me to understand this... they send out the biometric appointment via mail? And since you have gone thru this before, are biometrics usually done at a local ASC or the USCIS field office?

NOA is the letter you get from USCIS with the receipt number. It explains you about the process and what not.
Biometric appointment would be the next step, where one goes to submit their hand prints and picture taken for the FBI/DHS background check.
Yes I understand that but thank you for pointing it out. Some readers may not know. What I was trying to ask is where did you hear about biometric appointment being set up this early for march filers? I only read one member here who got really really lucky with the bio appt early. There are others who are still waiting for it who filed last year. I think it really depends where you are located.

Hey Guys!!
Did anyone of you receive the Biometric letter yet?
My wife's case was received on March 3rd except for the I-485 which was received on March 31st at the MSC.
Biometric? Do you mean Notice of Action?

The AOS $1225 transaction was made overnight! My AOS packet was received on Mar 5. It's coming!
-
The same thing happened to me and my AOS packet was returned to me for the exact same reason as you. I returned it with the same supporting documents. I reprinted all the forms, including the latest edition of I-485. I called USCIS twice to verify if I could reuse the supporting documents and they said they are good to use.
Submitted back with the NOA copy and now it has been 3 weeks since resubmission.

Hello fellow March filers!
Just sent our AOS file yesterday via USPS and got delivered to Chicago lockbox today @ 1PM.
However, we're a bit frustrated when we reviewed our I-864 from joint sponsor because we overlooked and put the wrong total value of asset in part 7 question 10.
Anyway, we cannot do anything about it and accepted the fact that there's a high change of getting RFE in the future. Just praying for the best possible outcome
Also, we used the I-485 form with edition date 10/15/19.... not knowing that there is a new edition which came out recently.
As per USCIS website, they mentioned that they will still accept the old version before April 19, 2021... so we hope to receive the NOA1 ASAP.
Goodluck to all
I filed in Jan and had it returned back to me due to the same reason as you - an older (previous) edition date of I-485 despite expiry date is still valid. Resubmitted everything as original submission and they received it on Mar 5 (Fri). It is almost three weeks now. Let's see how that pans out.

Hey guys, hope your applications are coming along. Here’s my timeline:
- Jan 22 2021: shipped out packet to Chicago office
- Jan 25 2021: Package delivered to USCIS office
- Feb 16 2021: Account debited for application by USCIS
- Feb 22 2021: Notification letters received in mailbox
So in general, it took about 4 weeks from when my application arrived at their office for me to get the notification letters. I hope this helps those still waiting for theirs, to get a better estimate as to when they should be hearing back from USCIS. I will provide more updates as I move along. Thanks for sharing the timeline! It really helps to get a sense where things are moving. BTW, I don't see you mentioning any text notification? I suppose you didn't fill G-1145?
-
Still no word after USCIS received my package on Jan 29. Anyone with any updates?
-
Anyone else got the text notification or payment accept or received the actual NOA?

Congrats on the pending transaction! Should we all go join the thread in the wrong section? I feel like it's unlikely there will be a January thread in my neck of the woods so I'll tag along...
I remember you filing last month because I was tracking your timeline -- you had filed at almost exactly the same as we did. And we also had to refile, so I feel your pain!
Why did you have to refile? I wonder how soon they get back to you in case anyone needs to refile since the G1145 notification could take a while and the NOA would take even longer? Correct me if I am wrong but I read somewhere that December AOS filers are not hearing anything back yet.

Well, you are not alone. I have my interview scheduled for this month but I am not sure due to covid if it would be cancelled at the eleventh hour. We'll see.
