I'm 67 years old, and I have never seen anything quite like this.  It sucks, but it is what it is.   All any of us can really do is to stay safe, help others when we can, and stay busy.  This WILL pass in the coming months, and things will return to "normal"......

I really appreciate how reassuring you are. Even on my Abu Dhabi case. It means a lot to us in limbo of AP.

Visas are never approved on the spot.  All cases go through some form of review and administrative processing before approval.  Some countries and some cases require extended AP which can last for many weeks or many months  With the current Covid-19 complications, things get even more uncertain.  At this point, all you can do is to patiently wait it out.   I know that isn't easy to hear, but it is the reality of the situation.  Good luck.

So when an embassy halts all immigration and non immigration visa activity this includes issuing them I’m guessing ?

Quit when he is ready to move?

Or move back to his home country, that could complicate the AP process.

Yes he won’t go back to his home country so I guess we will figure when it’s time. Limbo sucks but I know it’s common

Do you mean his visa to be able to stay in UAE expires soon? If it is his passport he needs a new one.

As Lucky Cat mentioned this is a multi part process, I wish they would make that clearer, seems to confuse many people.

Yes. He will have to renew his work contract now for a year :(

  5. So interview was Sunday in Abu Dhabi. It went great, my fiancé did get a blue 221g requesting my sons medical file. I was there with him so he told my fiancé to have me email him the papers requested as he was there for 2 more hours. He said if he had the papers he would have approved him on the spot. They kept his passport. Told him within 10 days he should have it. My fiancé’s passport expires on March 19 for UAE and he has to exit the country by April 15. The officer knew this. Last night he gets an email to pick up mail at empost from the visa department. It was his passport back with a white 221g that has the passport box checked and handwritten the embassy will contact you. That’s it.  Could this be because the embassy closed and they didn’t want to hold his passport with it expiring and will wait until it opens again ? We are so confused. We had tons of proof and even the interview went good. Thoughts ?

Not to create confusion and a lot of questions at the interview, I'd get a new account and let the bum have his own. Copies are fine. Scan and email and print them out on the beneficiary's side.

Can you update your profile please.

Done :) I will do the new account. I’m going to Pakistan next month with him so I’m taking him everything he will need so he has it. Is it ok to do all this like the affidavit of support and all that in feb when I’m thinking the interview will be in March or April ? I will want my 2019 taxes since my income is where it will be minimum.  I work a second job too so it will be even higher for his aos here. I have 5 kids but I’m like almost to the 250% poverty level. I’m sure that’s ok.

Here is what is needed for the UAE.

Don't do anything in advance until the case is ready at embassy and the embassy sends you an email to the petitioner to follow these steps for Scheduling interview, Medical exam, police clearance etc.  Usually takes about 2 months to receive.

You should go to your sub-forum website here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/97-middle-east-and-north-africa/ and here is a recent thread for some who are processing a K-1 and their recent experience (see below).

Also, more info here from your portal http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United

A wealth of information on this thread

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

    Thanks

I will 1000% give you updated info on each step. From what I’ve seen , pack 3 is taking 2-3 weeks to get. My question is for the financial supporting info, it says all original copies. My salary letter is in an email from my company. My paystubs are online only to print. The tax form I can use for 2019 correct since I will file taxes next month and it’s my true income from me salary letter (I had my first entire year with the company). And also. The bank statements. My ex still has his pay direct deposited into the account since he’s too lazy to open his own. His Name is on the acct. should I hurry and open my own with my direct deposit ? Thank you so much.

you'll probably be ok with all these visits if he interviews in UAE

just have to have the needed income and be able to prove you can afford his health insurance till he gets the work permit

    as for the OP

a US woman of limited financial resourses is not going to move to Tunisia as you know a US woman over 50 would not find a job there

I spent a month there looking for a house (in spring of 2008) and found one i liked and almost made the move /then i met my husband later in that year

it is easy to fall in love with Tunisian people  / the kids,  the young women and men are beautiful and i mean really beautiful

    and the country the same

    i loved it

also forgot to mention in my many posts here

    this process is

    not easy

    not fast

not cheap ( i spent over $35,000 for the things immigration wanted me to do)

Yes my income is solid I’m a nurse practitioner and he will be added to my blue cross blue shield as soon as we marry ❤️  We are blessed really

  9. I see cases like this all the time on fb pages, it never ends pretty. All the old women wonder why they can’t have their boy with them. It’s disturbing sometimes to see these old men and women marrying someone that is 20 years plus younger. I’m sure In your case your mom must be the same age as her ?? And her kids possibly the same age as you ? Think about it from a CO point of view. Met online , she comes and you marry on first visit, she comes back and petitions. No way will they think it’s real. If this really is love she will move there and spend a lot of time there. Maybe even 2 years and then marry and file. I am only 8 years older than my fiancé and nervous for a k1. In UAE but Pakistani born. I’m divorced with 5 kids but we want one quickly as soon as he’s here. And I can still have babies. I’ve made 12 trips to Dubai since feb 2017 and we just got our NOA2. We spent a lot of time together. And in February he’s taking me home to Pakistan to meet all his family. Video calls don’t cut it. This will all be before the interview but still, I’m nervous. I’m blessed his family accepts me. You have a huge uphill battle like everyone says

Fascinating!  Thanks for compiling this, @Greenbaum

This is amazing info. So the US citizen petitioner has their background checked before noa2 approved. When exactly do they run all the beneficiary background checks? Here in California too or once it gets to the embassy before the interview ? And because my fiancé is from Pakistan once he’s approved at interview he’s approved ? Or does it take longer after the interview ?

You can process at a consulate based on your legal residence OR country of citizenship. It will only be at a single consulate at a time.

No PCCs from Pakistan, per the reciprocity table. The US government does not trust their validity and will therefore conduct their own background checks. This may or may not take an extended period of time.

Thank you so much. Yes we will use UAE since I’m a legal resident here. Will it eventually go to Pak too when uae is done with it or only UAE handles it since that’s where it will be sent ?
