Dear friends this forum has helped so many people getting their goals
I have a request that kindly the member who already got there green cards and about to apply for citizenship in like 4-5 months time please reply to this post so that we can share our views my citizenship is due in next 3 months
Hi Braveheart,
I filed on the 28 of July online. I got a notification right after with the receipt information and the actual letter in the mail a little over a week later. Last week I got a notification that my case is being actively reviewed. And today I got a letter in the mail that I do not need to redo biometrics and they will let me know if they need anything else. So I’m starting to study for the interview because I think that’s the next step. I filed 2.9 years.

Hi family!
My I-360 was received mid-May 2021 and my attorney didn't ask me to get medicals. Does this mean I'll receive a RFE and won't be able to get a Prima Facie?
If so, I would like to get my medicals and send them asap to USCIS, but I have no clue how this works. How can I find doctors/medical centers that offer these services?
Thanks in advance and have a beautiful day!
You will eventually get a RFE for the medical when your i485 is being processed. Uscis website shows you doctors they accept in your area.

Hey ladies and gents!
Anyone has experience filing for divorce in NY?
I went to the court's website to file online but had to stop when I realize that by doing so my spouse will see my current address and SSN (which he did not know by heart).
What would be the proper procedure to file without him having access to my personal information?
Thanks in advance!
Apply for a confidential address. When you receive it use it as you address on the divorce papers, everything will go to that address then filter through to your correct address. That’s what I did for my divorce I’m in ny as well just Google it. You should find the information there

Hi I’m a VAWA recipient that now wants to neutralize. I used Medicaid and I have housing assistance and I also work. Will that be a problem when applying for citizenship? I know I was exempted from that being an issue while filing for my greencard because I did it through VAWA.

Hi guys I have a question.
Do you still need to send in a AR11 form to Vermont after changing address even after receiving your greencard?

Yes! FAFSA.
So you need to contact your schools tuition department, they will send you information for how to apply for it including your schools code for the FAFSA. It’s a standard process on the FAFSA website.
The important part is you need to send a copy of PF to your school so they will grant your application. You can apply for loan for bachelor, masters degree classes etc. I don’t think we can use private loans for tuition, at least I never used it.
hope this helps
Thank you so much for this information!

Are you referring to FAFSA? So many folks here have or are currently utilizing it! Someone will explain better to you...I’ve never used it.👍
Yes that’s it! Thank you!

Hi family!
I got a question. What is the name of the funding you can apply for when you need help financially with school. I know you can use a Prima facie to receive it but for the life of me I cannot remember the name. It would be of great help if I could get the website as well if it’s not too much. Thank you!

This is so beautiful. God works in mysterious ways my dear. I’m going to have my first child in December and I’m so excited. There’s always light at the end of a dark tunnel. It’s hard to see when you’re in the mist of it. Congratulations on the upcoming little one.
Thank you so much and congrats to you too! I pray you have a safe delivery. And you’re right, just when we think it’s all darkness a little light starts to shine through.

Congratulations! Your story is inspiring.
i have similar situation with i765 that I submitted concurrently. It’s still pending since July 2019 (1 year and 3 months). I filed i360 in July 2020. After I did so my i765 was transferred to VAWA unit along with i485 on September 2020.
You said you contacted ombudsman. How do I do this?
What the difference between contacting ombudsman and congressman?
I’m worried that I still haven’t received my EAD.Thank you! To contact the ombudsman I googled uscis ombudsman, click on the link and followed the instructions. The reason I contacted the ombudsman is because my congressman did not assist me when I reached out to him even though I filled out all the forms and such. After I contacted the ombudsman the first time that’s when I got the EAD after waiting over a year. I really just stick to who is assisting me when I reach out for help and for me that was the ombudsman. Good luck and be proactive, you have to look out for your best interest.

Card mail to me October 28, 2020
The crazy thing is a found out I was pregnant with my first child a few days before I did my medical and I was so worried because I couldn’t get my shots. But the dr put the reason I couldn’t get them and I asked the interviewer if everything was okay she looked at what the dr wrote and said it was fine. She never once asked me about my abuse. She asked me for medical, passport, ID, and divorce decree which I gave her. She updated my address because they still had the wrong address on file. She asked me yes or no question and asked me if I had any questions for her. At the end of the interview she said she had to review it and it will take approximately 120 days. And look at God... 2 days later.
I didn’t have any psychological evaluation or a police report of abuse because I was afraid to call the police. He threatened to kill me if I did. But I was smart, I sent in order of protection I tried to service him but couldn’t find him. I sent multiple text threads with him threatening me, calling me name, talking about how he’s tapped my phone, mentioning abuse, it was all so awful and honestly I believe those messages were what got me my approval. I sent in a latter from the DV organization I go for counseling, joint lease, joint bank account, weeding ring purchased in his name, flight itinerary of trips we took together, reservations itinerary of hotels we stayed together, receipts of things he bought that tied back to what I wrote in my affidavit letter, pictures of when he moved all of our furnitures from our house, during and after, pictures of my personal belongings that he left in the apartment laundry room, pictures of when we were happy together, I had no pictures of physical abuse, pictures of his ID and birth certificate because I kept all documents, copy of all the other bills in the house, 3 affidavit from friends and a 7 page affidavit from myself that I cried writing. I’ve been through hell and back but I never gave up I kept on fighting even when I was almost homeless, I found people that genuinely cared and helped me. I prayed and prayed and prayed some more, I can’t count how many times I’ve started praying and I cried until the words can’t come out. For those still going through it, don’t give up your victory is coming. If I can do it you can do it too, just fight! I now have my own apartment, I bought my car this year, I have a job which allows me to work from home for the rest of the year, I’m in a good relationship now, I’m pregnant with my first child at 31 and super excited. My journey as just began. 2 years ago if someone told me I would be where I am right now I would tell me they are lying.
Sorry for the long message I pray everyone will be victorious in their endeavors.

Hey Beautiful people,
I just had my I-485 interview based on approved VAwA and I think God answered my prayer today. The officer was extremely nice, kind and respectful. For everyone that’s worried (like I was), go with confidence. You have nothing to be afraid of with interviews. It’s mostly the yes or no questions. She asked if I was still married and copy of divorce papers. It was straight forward and my attorney felt like she was pleasant ### well. She said she’d review my file but my attorney should be getting card in the mail in 4-6 weeks. I pray and know we’ll all succeed with getting our green cards. I’ll keep everyone updated when I get my green card in hand. Totally time 1yr and 9 months from the date I-360 was filed (Jan 2019), but initial I-485 held from Aug 2018 filing with ex. I hope this gives everyone hope like I got. Thank you @sandranj and @Stillwinning!!!😊 for the responses to my questions. You may not like the answer they give, but they give you facts and truth. There are more to thank and you all know who you are.
Where did you have your interview in NY?

You did a great job not sitting around waiting. How long did it take before you got a response from the Ombudsman office? I just submit the for for an inquiry. Thanks
Tbh I think it took a month because of everything that’s going on right now. I remember in the past I contacted them about something n it look no more than two weeks.
VAWA, Part 27
in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
Posted · Edited by SamIAm876
Hi everyone,
I am a past VAWA recipient and filed my citizenship 2 years and 9 months as my spouse was a us citizen.
I filed online and just followed the instructions online. I do not have any information regarding paper filing. I found it easier to file online because the update documents uscis sends you in the mail can be found online in your uscis account before you get them in the mail.
July 28 2023 - We received your form N-400 ( online application)
August 10 2023 - We are actively reviewing your form N-400 nothing shows outstanding at the moment (biometric waived)
September 27 2023 - We scheduled your interview for your for N-400
November 2 20203 - Interview (only asked questions on the form my name, place of employment, date of birth etc., did the oral, written, and history test. I call it history test) and he scheduled my oth ceremony on spot and gave me the information to take to the oath ceremony
December 1 2023 Oath Ceremony
i am currently in the processes of filing for my mom and just a month after submitting her application they requested the medical which I didn’t send with the application and we are about to get her biometric done.
Good luck to everyone on their journey.
