Nope. 😟 If I dont hear anything by September, I will email the consulate and try to get some information. Montreal is already so backlogged that I literally imagine them putting the rescheduled cases to the back of the pile like oh haha it is your fault that you couldnt attend the interview we scheduled for you so now wait.

That's how I feel too! I definitely think we got thrown to the back of the pile at this point. It's also annoying that we can only interview in Montreal. I wish they'd do interviews on both the east and west coast. :( I'm in Vancouver and have been dealing with some post Covid health issues so the thought of flying so far and back is really unappealing.

Hi, all.  I stopped checking visa journey a while back because it was just depressing me.  I did not get another visa interview scheduled for me and everytime I check to reschedule it says that none are available.  Because of this, we have applied for AOS.  I will keep my file active at Montreal if that's possible, in case something eventually comes up before my AOS gets processed.

Thank you so much for updating all of us! It's much appreciated. I hope you'll get your interview date soon :( I'm sorry you've had to switch gears to AOSThis is so frustrating.. I thought they'd put us in the next batch. I don't understand what their system is for rescheduling, and I hate how they don't even keep us in the loop and just give us vague responses.

Me too... they skipped over the month of June though. If we dont get an IL letter by September, I will start inquiring.
I fear that they put us to the back of the pile. I really hope that is not the case.

UGH! I will be so mad if they put us at the very back :( That really is so unfair. I recall reading that one person rescheduled and was offered an IL in the following batch but then also couldn't make it for that one either, and I have no idea if they ever received a new one. I'm going to see if I can find their page again. I have been DQ for one year now. I'm tempted to send another email, but I suspect it will be pointless and I'll just receive the same generic email. This process has been so frustrating. I keep hoping we'll get letters but then nothing.

Did you get a new interview date yet?

I am in the same boat :( Did you get a new interview date yet? (I'm wondering how long until I will get a new appointment.)

I didn't get a new interview date either :( I requested a new one on April 15 and was advised that the visa unit would contact me as soon as a date became available. I was hoping we'd all be in the next batch.

Hi State and Maine and chanel167,

Have either of you had any good news on the police certificate front? My wife got hers done at Commissionaires as well back at the end of April, and she still has not received the certificate in the mail. She did contact the RCMP and they said that it was mailed out mid-May, but she has yet to receive anything. Are you both in the same boat with it being a possible mail delay backlog rather than with the RCMP themselves?

Hi! I received mine on Friday, June 4th. It took exactly 10 business days to arrive. I'm sorry to hear that it's taking so long for your wife :( I hope hers comes in ASAP.

Long time lurker, first time poster..

    Filed in early July 2019.

We were DQd (NVC) on June 3 2020.

Received an interview letter on February 4 2021

Initial Interview was scheduled on March 1 2021 (We could not attend this and had to cancel)

They emailed us on April 1 that we were rescheduled on May 21 for an interview.

Anyway.. had our interview on Friday! Everything went well - he was approved on the spot. I watched and read a lot of reviews about what to expect. My husband was let in 10 mins early, there was no line at all. He said he was 1 of 2 people in there and it was over less than an hour later. Meaning he was back at our hotel in less than an hour so that included the walk back as well. Super quick and painless. Shockingly after months of anxiety.

I drove back to the US after the interview on Friday and he is in western Canada waiting for his passport before he will fly back to the US.

(yes we had to quarantine ahead of the doctors appointment because we were in the US and it was painful $$)

Does anyone have experience with what to expect from the courier process? I realize it's only been a couple days and Monday was a Canadian holiday.

For everyone else -- hang in there. Your day will come I promise!

Congrats on your husband's approval! I'm so happy for you guys :) I was DQ June 1 and had to cancel my Feb 22 interview. I emailed them last month to reschedule. Did you need to contact the consulate to reschedule or did they just send you the new interview date? Thank you in advance!

Not at all! I’m in Ottawa and I used a third party service through a company called Commissionaires. They told me it could take up to 4 weeks, and to call them if I don’t get it by then, but it’s usually around 2 weeks. Last year it took about 10 calendar days and was a lot faster- so 15 days isn’t that big of a jump even though I was getting anxious!

Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you got yours in time, and I hope that mine will be the same :)

15 calendar days yes, so I was including the weekend. So it seems that they're doing okay at the RCMP for their stuff!

Hiii! If you don't mind me asking what part of Canada are you in? I went to the RCMP in Vancouver today to get a new record and they said It'll take about 4 weeks :( I really hope they didn't give me an accurate time frame and it will be 15 days like yours. I'm not proud of myself for leaving this to the last minute.

Did you also get this reply:

We accept your request to reschedule your immigrant visa appointment with the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal. While we aim to process such requests as soon as practicable, there are likely to be increased wait times for rescheduling due to the ongoing pandemic and substantial backlogs. Please be assured that your request to be re-scheduled has been noted, we will contact you as soon as we are able to do so.

The reply I received was: We have received you request to reschedule, once we have a date the Visa Unit will contact you.

I found the following in the FAQ page. I'm hoping this means we'll be in the next batch of interviews

“Hi, All.  I was able to reschedule - but because of Covid, it's a lot more complicated than the link that is provided in the FAQ's.  When I realized I wasn't able to make my March 1st appointment (after much anxiety and sleepless nights), I emailed Montreal (the email they recommend to use) and gave them my information - my passport #, my Case # and forwarded my interview email from the NVC.  I told them my reasons (too short notice, working in states, young children traumatized by last 8 mo separation from father, etc).  They cancelled my interview.   I went to sign in at the interview scheduling website - and they said I needed to schedule an appointment - and that there were none available at the time.  Weird, I was expecting to see a calendar, but whatever.  I kept checking.  At the end of February I received another date  - April 9.  Well, that's nice and all, but I'm here in the states under an r-class work visa (I'm a pastor) and April 9 is right after Easter...and I can't leave here during the most holy celebration/feast to quarantine and have all my appointments.  So, I emailed the consulate again and this time I was first given the following email: "The U.S. Consulate General in Montreal does not handle re-scheduling interviews. Any questions about scheduling/re-scheduling the appointment or any issues with the website of our appointment services contractor should be reported directly to the Official U.S. Department of State Visa Appointment Service using the contact details here https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/iv/information/contact_us" On the scheduling website it says their call centre can reschedule appointments.  So, I called them, however, the person I talked to at the call-centre said that, no, the Montreal consulate will reschedule the appointment only after I miss the April 9 appointment.  Ok, that's not what happened last time - but ok.

Yesterday I received another email from Montreal saying: Good morning, Thank you for the notification. Our Visa unit will contact you with appointment availability in late April and May 2021.

So, they have no idea what they're doing and they're just stringing me along - each email is from a different operator.  I'm just waiting to see what will happen next."

  10. I requested a new interview date on April 15. I haven't received a new date yet, but it's looking like no one here has gotten an interview date for June yet :( In the mean time I have gotten my Tdap booster and will be getting a new police report either today or tomorrow. I've seen some people say it takes a while to receive it due to Canada Post delays so I want to get that part out of the way!

Could you share more about your rescheduling experience just to help others in the same boat since there doesnt seem to be a lot of info on the forum about that😟 @chanel167

For example, unfortunately I am going to have to reschedule my upcoming May 12 interview and was told by the Visa Unit that although they empathize with the situation I must first register the interview, miss it and starting May 13 I should be seeing a calendar with the next available dates...

You mentioned your interview was Feb 22, so 2 months ago, so I am just wondering if during this time there werent any available dates and no available dates for the upcoming months or what is going on? If you could tell us more that would be great! Thanks ☺️

Hi! I registered and then  contacted the consulate to cancel. The consulate told me that they will cancel my interview and to contact them when I am ready and that they'll do their best to accommodate me during that time. I frequently looked at the calendar in case dates show up but it always said "there are no available appointments". During the 2 month period NO dates were available on the calendar. I recently emailed the consulate to reschedule and was told that I will receive an email from the visa unit when a date is available.

    I hope this helps!
