  1. many have mentioned supporting her family You need to understand that u r not just marrying her / you are marrying a family and family expects certain things You can apply anytime for the K1 with more visits in the future between now and interview /1 visit for 1 week is lame and meeting where at age 15 or 16? Do u fully understand the income levels u need to sponsor? Add to that additional travel to strengthen the case and the cost of marriage and AOS
  2. CBP may check her luggage as she's coming from Peru (country with high rate of drug smuggling) /Even i was checked and i am a USC Senior citizen coming back after visiting Machu Picchu she is coming in on a legal US visa questions would be simple ones "address of where she will live in US" and "will she marry" she does not have to answer in English but can speak in her language/most officers in Miami speak Spanish this should be rather easy for her
  3. when a person is already not in their home country , it is fairly reasonable they are showing possibility of immigrant intent (not wanting to be in home ) And understand that Nigeria is on the new list of 36 countries that may be added to the ban to add to the denial BTW when you title it "why did I get refused?" not why did she get refused, it is basically understandable that a CO believed she had immigrant intent to come and marry and stay which is visa fraud
  4. Yes, he has proposed the next 36 countries so K1 would be on hold till ban is lifted spouse visa is best way to go as it is exempt from ban and yes, wait time for each step of the process is long Nigeria has a long queue for interview for either visa
  5. I would suspect a long AP while the case undergoes extra security checks as, like us, you are an African country add that, to your work experience will require some checks And understand that jobs are limited to u (even with extensive experience) until you become a USC
  6. All social media you use
  7. Do u meet the poverty guidelines for income? How much time together? does her family approve? Can you afford health care insurance for her? Can you afford the over $2000 for her to adjust her status after arrival in the US? Are either of you students with promise of a good future job? would you be able to supply a joint sponsor for the income?
  8. What visa type ? What embassy?
  9. Congratulations on the new baby to be born Very unlikely she will be approved for tourist visa as the I 130 shows immigrant intent when she returns to India the wait time for tourist visa interview in India is 8 months or longer depending on which embassy she applys to so your baby will be born in India when applying for the spouse visa , baby will also need I 130 as you are not a USC to be able to pass citzenship to the child but apply for the wife ASAP for consulate interview and let USCIS know when you naturalize Best to your family
  10. Also needed is proof of new Joint sponsor's US residency (like photo ID or DL) Irs transcripts need to be all pages even if they do not any info of yours
  11. Need to answer above "are you USC or LPR"? Have you emailed or send letter to NVC to keep the case open since DQ? Which is it ? Sierra Leone or Liberia? If USC, spouse is exempt from ban on Sierra Leone (IR 1_ (v) immediate family immigrant visas (IR-1/CR-1, IR-2/CR-2, IR-5) with clear and convincing evidence of identity and family relationship (e.g., DNA) https://www.google.com/search?q=White+House+ban&rlz=1C1VDKB_enUS1120US1122&oq=White+House+ban&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyCQgAEEUYORiABDIHCAEQLhiABDIHCAIQABiABDIHCAMQABiABDINCAQQLhivARjHARiABDIHCAUQABiABDIHCAYQABiABDIHCAcQABiABDIHCAgQABiABDIHCAkQABiABNIBCjEyNzIyajBqMTWoAgCwAgA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 IF LPR, not (F2a visa) And Liberia is set to be added to the new 36 added country list
  12. i am saying NOA 2 takes at least 8 months
  13. If you add the Moroccan flag to profile (and thanks for creating one as it helps) , you will get responses from others going thru same embassy It's a little early for the case to go to NVC since many officers are now taking summer vacations / more like 8 minimum to go thru USCIS stage
  14. you have seen what the average time is for ALL EMBASSIES Embassies such as India, Pakistan, Nigeria have long long wait times and bring the average up Spain and Norway have few people coming to the US so wait time for those embassies to request packets for interviews will be much shorter than the average
  15. This idea that he is amazing and wonderful man -is what you need to get over as he isn't that amazing and wonderful His mom and sister who have known him all his life said otherwise /they knew the real man you finally saw his true self , his quick temper, his controlling ways, his abusive language Short trips to meet you did not disclose the real person
  16. To read your ordeal is heart-rending To put faith in another and go years for the visa process is something we all have done but this disappointment is beyond anything we can really understand You have my payers and please do not think to commit suicide My prayers go out to you as only God can bring you thru this I often think someone getting into marriage (especially those who do LDR) should do a back ground check on the mate His mother's reaction makes me believe her culture does not like woman to show weakness I found this out in Moroc too as i was upset once and his aunt said "do not cry-the man will think you are weak" You did dodge a bullet as marriage to this man would have been a nightmare salvage the situation? please if you love a man who does not want you, let him go/ if he comes back , its only because he was not wanted wherever he went so, if he tries to come back, kick him away (let the door hit him in the butt on his way out) you have understanding of what a good wife is, so you don't need someone who doesn't
  17. To get a green card you must pay the green card fee tp process it and arrive in USA it is mailed to you at wife's address but will not be processed until you go thru customs and immigration and pay the fee
  18. If lucky enough to get to immigration court the following are the big concerns" with filing taxes the big one Intent when leaving the country: Did the individual intend to return to the U.S. at the time of their departure? Employment abroad: Did the individual take a job abroad that suggests a long-term commitment outside the U.S.? U.S. business affiliations: Have they maintained or severed business ties in the U.S.? or property holdings in the United States: Do they still own a home or property in the U.S.? Payment of U.S. taxes: Have they continued to file and pay taxes in the U.S.? Length of time in the United States: This is another aspect of the overall pattern of residence. Community ties developed before the departure: Did they have established connections within U.S. communities? Maintenance of a bank account, club memberships, or other social ties within this country: Do they still have U.S. bank accounts or social connections? U.S. residence of other immediate family members during this period: Are their close family members residing in the U.S.? Certain conduct while outside the United States: Have they engaged in any activities abroad that might indicate an intent to reside there permanently?
  19. If you read thru the instructions for the I 131 you will see answers to your query 4 years? https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-131instr.pdf Lawful permanent residents and conditional permanent residents may apply for a Reentry Permit. The alien must be physically present in the United States when they file the Reentry Permit application and complete the biometric services requirement. After filing the application for a Reentry Permit, USCIS will inform the alien in writing when to go to their local Application Notice to lawful permanent residents or conditional permanent residents concerning possible abandonment of status: If the alien does not obtain a Reentry Permit, lengthy or frequent absences from the United States could be factors supporting a conclusion that the alien has abandoned their lawful permanent resident or conditional permanent resident status. If DHS determines, upon their return to the United States, that the alien has abandoned their lawful permanent resident or conditional permanent resident status, the alien may challenge that determination if they are placed in removal proceedings.
  20. according to june visa bulletin they now are doing January of 22 so, no , there should be no april 22 https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2025/visa-bulletin-for-june-2025.html
  21. please please update your profile with a timeline
  22. you have posted several times about traveling outside the US and possible problems at POE Have you sent form N-445 with explanation for the 2 times you missed ceremony? Do you understand that until the oath is taken , u r still a LPR and the rules still apply for time spent outside the US? https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/learn-about-citizenship/commonly-asked-questions-about-the-naturalization-process under traveling outside the USA In addition to examining the length of your trip abroad, USCIS will look at the frequency of your travel. To qualify for naturalization, an applicant must spend at least half of their time in the United States. This is known as the “physical presence” requirement. If you take frequent, short trips abroad that result in you spending more than half your time outside the United States, then you will also be ineligible for naturalization. In short , u r putting your self at risk and making international travel more important than becoming a USC , so what's more important? I
  23. you need AP Read thru what USCIS says https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/travel-documents File Form I-131, Application for Travel Documents, Parole Documents, and Arrival/Departure Records, to request travel documents, including: Advance parole document for aliens in the United States seeking to return after temporary travel abroad (including advance permission to travel for Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) long-term residents); Refugee travel document; Reentry permit; or Temporary Protected Status travel authorization.
  24. You have no path to apply for green card as illegal status you could marry but he has no job and the income to support you and has already shown (subsided housing) that chances are you would become a "public charge" On top of working illegally in the US breaking the law? all the above is against any petition filed on your behalf
  25. passport has visa in it and the i 551 stamp which acts as temp green card/ actual green card is issued after fee is paid to USCIS and you arrive in USA I know a person should not "burn the bridges behind him" but why are you worried about that job and not just leave as you'll now live in the US?
