  1. to not confuse other LPR , u have all the rights under the Constitution but u r not yet a citizen The House of Representatives: Represents citizens based on the population of their district, with each state having at least one representative. The Senate: Represents citizens equally by state, with each state having two senators. The first three words of the Constitution The Constitution's first three words, "We the People", affirm that the government serves its citizens. And they have no power over the immigration process except to write laws
  2. its ok with USCIS Just file your tax returns remembering foreign income does not qualify for sponsorship and yes US embasy does both K1 and Cr1 interviews maintain your US residency as that is also required to prove at NVC and interview State Photo ID or DL
  3. 1/29 is National Day of Remembrance for the attack on mosque in Quebec so, they have moved your interview date up / this is good news and why purchase tickets without the visa in hand?
  4. Its not especially since she must interview in a foreign embassy (not her country) there is only a few months difference between getting K1 and CR1 timeframes consider the money to travel 1st for the medical exam and then back for the interview consider the cost of AOS after marriage in USA is over $2000 of u do all On the K1, the immigrant must wait for AP to travel outside the US so emergency visits home are difficult if even possible she can not work till EAD is approved and waiting time is long it is harder to get SS Number (need to apply soon after POE) it is harder to get DL Waiting for AOS is longer and harder on most K1 petitioners than waiting out the spouse visa
  5. I, and my ex-wife and our child are still on the California Medi-Cal program. that I is important Your ex wife is not the only one benefiting this program /the program for low income families so not sure how u think your income is sufficient to sponsor a new wife as its based on all household income (yours and exwife's) understand the I 864 for exwife may be in force if she has not worked 40 quarters 1. exwfe not a citizen or worked 40 quarters, she is part of your household 2. child is part of your household and considered for income level Have u considered paying out the N400 for your exwife to naturalize? could happen before u have to send Affidavit of support which would take her off your household size? your child will still be considered in your household Have u considered adding exwife and child to your health care insurance as they are your responsibility? You do need to take yourself off the Cali-med program
  6. your past post indicates this is for a tourist visa for MIL to come for birth as your wife is pregnant there is no expedite for a tourist visa and MIL has to apply and prove she will return to home country./ she can not work in US to assist your wife during pregnacy if she interviews and intends to work here in any capacity , the tourist visa will be denied by CO
  7. Best tip is marry and go for the spouse visa Best to you both
  8. Your post defeats itself. you were 17-18 in August 2021 but came the 1st time in 2020 when u would have been 16 and u are saying u had to return to "get affairs in order"???? Immigration officer may ask u what affairs? taking online classes you could have done here in US /we have internet here You really need to wait to apply as your permanent residency started in 2022 as what u say will not be advantageous to you in an interview with an immigration officer
  9. you are not done with the process if married under 2 years when she arrives, she will need to do ROC in 2 years and that can be a long drawn out process and then there is naturalization and so many more things to know and ask here and please, u asked for help here and VJ members gave u answers/ now do the same for those following in your footsteps and help with a timeline and your case may have been easy, but many from Morocco are not
  10. you are together in Turkey, marry there apply online for I 130 following USCIS instructions make sure you have done your US tax returns thruout the time worked outside the US prepare to have a joint sponsor as your foreign income will not be counted and even with the required assets, the CO often will not consider them
  11. He (or spouse) needs to find out if the business is obligated to carry short term disability insurance/he would be covered for that this is a requirement in many states to operate a business it usually covers for 6 months depending on whether its SSI (no waiting period to apply) or SSDI (5 month waiting period) and other requirements a E2 visa holder could get ss money the big if is From social security site https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-11051.pdf • You were lawfully admitted for permanent residence and you have a total of 40 credits of work in the United States. (Your spouse’s or parent’s work also may count). and this NOTE: If you entered the United States on or after Aug. 22, 1996, then you may not be eligible for SSI for the first 5 years as a lawfully admitted permanent resident, even if you have 40 credits of earnings. Seven-year limit for some noncitizens Some noncitizens can get SSI for up to 7 years. If your SSI payments are limited to 7 years because of your particular noncitizen status, we’ll send a letter to you telling you when your 7-year period ends. We’ll send another letter explaining your rights to appeal before we stop your payments. If you’re a current or former SSI recipient subject to SSI eligibility under the 7-year time limit, and you’ve applied for citizenship, we encourage you to contact the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to find out how to: • Expedite processing of your pending naturalization (N-400) or adjustment of status (I-485) application.
  12. MFM takes a W7 form to apply for ITIN (taxpayer ID Number ) when the spouse is not a US resident give the USC this internet IRS webpage that will explain the process https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/nonresident-spouse it is well worth filing married as the standard deduction for an example for 2023 means she is due a larger return /or doesn't pay taxes on $13850. The standard deduction for 2023 is: $13,850 for single or married filing separately $27,700 for married couples filing jointly or qualifying surviving spouse $20,800 for head of household Also your foreign income is excluded with form 2555 to the amount as follows For tax year 2023, the maximum foreign earned income exclusion is the lesser of the foreign income earned or $120,000 per qualifying person. if married in year 2023 if married in 2022, IRS posts the amounts of both standard deductions and exclusion for foreign income. I married in 2010 and filed joint for all the years after
  13. You should not be worried about the cost the USC is suppose to show they can afford health care insurance when doing a K1 so, by now u should be covered for medical exam
  14. Several countries have a long version (and a short version) they want the long one It helps to ID the embassy /country on here to get the best answers from those that have seen this in the past per country of birth and your timeline will help others who follow u so please fill one out
  15. US tourist visa not for visiting Mexico A Philippine citizen needs a visa to visit Mexico for tourism or business purposes, meaning they must apply for a Mexican visa before traveling to the country; this applies to both transit and non-remunerated activities https://immigrationtomexico.mx/which-countries-need-a-visa-to-enter-mexico/ lists all countries that do not need visa to travel to Mexico and has info to apply for one
  16. the only way to correct this is to send a new birth certificate following directions on the RFE of where to send If u send by mail to office, label the birth certificate with case number, both names and both DOB"s or the system could lose it By mail send with return receipt and signature required Please fill out timeline on your portal
  17. Filing for DV lottery is already closed DV-2026 Program: The online registration period for the DV-2026 Program begins on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 12:00 noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4) and concludes on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 12:00 noon, Eastern Standard Time (EST) (GMT-5 this is so important . If you do not want to be separated from fiancee, what will happen when u are homesick and miss those u love back in switzerlad and u can not travel to visit there until AP is approved?? too many that come to US get real homesick especially when u can't work and are stuck at home for the extended time of waiting for the AOS process here. CR1 allows u to travel back immediately after POE.. U have the advantage of being in an beautiful country and trust me , u r going to miss the mountains, the great train service, along with family and friends. and Switzerland has very few citizens who are trying to immigrate to the US so your wait time for an interview after a petition arrives at the NVC stage will be a lot shorter than most visa petitions . Checking the last reported approved visa for October, Liechtenstein had none for both K1 and CR1 showing the queue is very short as there were no petitions on hold at NVC
  18. you need to file form 4506-T to receive letter of filing no tax return mark; fill it out completely and mark number 7 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf
  19. they do not ask for criminal report from pakistan / the embassy CO has to get the security checks as Pakistan is poor at record keeping

  21. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/MRV-Monrovia.html The interview is scheduled between NVC and the embassy so you should have gotten notice of the interview date Has the interview already happened and he is just in AP for additional security checks? or has he interviewed and came to US without your knowledge /what does CEAC say about the case? notify all involved sending notices to 1. US office (in case case has been returned to US' 2. NVC 3. Liberia embassy / overnight letter with return signature stamped Address: 502 Benson Street Monrovia Embassy Phone: (+231) 77-677-7000 Embassy Fax: (+231) 77-677-7370 4. US border CBP Toll-free number 1-877-CBP-5511 (1-877-227-5511 you will need to include the case #, both names and both DOB's in your letters/ getting your signature notorized and witnessed is a good idea
  22. The USCIS has received your petition and the update of December is probably assignment to US office / that is what case received means/ until a case Number with initials for ISL for Islamabad is given by NVC
  23. To get a Social Security number (SSN) as an immigrant, you can: Apply for your SSN when you apply for your visa ds 260 Visit a local Social Security office or Card Center appointment needed Complete an Application for a Social Security Card (Form SS-5) you can get the form online Provide documents that prove your identity and work-authorized immigration status Passport with valid spouse visa and stamped I 551 will suffice /that is photo ID,, proof of legal status in US, and all they need. 1 SS officer told me i needed marriage certificate and i asked to see supervisor who checked the system and said "ours was in the system" and marriage certificate wasn't needed
  24. USCIS is accepting Utah zoom marriage with proof u r together after the marriage YOU apply online for the spouse visa so documents are digital at this point taking the original to the interview/ make sure the digital matches the one u receive by mail. not sure why u r worried about Turkey marriage reguarding translation of documents as all our documents for USC to marry there would need to be translated into Turkish and if Utah zoom all the Turkish documents need to have English translations to accompany the Turkey documents for immigration either way its means translations are needed to have the affidavit of eligibility to marry from US embasssy after getting it translated , u follow the guides The documents notarized at the U.S. Consulate in Istanbul need to be taken to the Istanbul Governor’s office for apostille certification. Apostille certification is obtainable in Istanbul at: Istanbul Valiliği, Hukuk İşleri Şube Müdürlüğü. Web-site: http://istanbul.gov.tr/hukuk-isleri-sube-mudurlugu
