Fingers crossed this quick turnaround continues!!!

Its safe to to say I am not having much patience.

Question- I know people don’t advise it, but is anyone roughly thinking about or planning a wedding date? We are thinking/ hoping mid May...

I feel like If I start planning for a specific month I’ll jinx it and will end up taking longer than expected 😂

  2. Hi guys!!

Hope everyone’s having a smooth wait. I have a (probably pretty dumb) question about the NOA1. So I’ve just noticed the hard copy has a Notice date, and a Received date... I’ve been going by the Notice date for my timeline, but is it the correct one? or would it make sense to use the received date, since that’s the date they actually opened the packet? I mean it wouldn’t make much of a difference anyway but I’m just curious at this point. What date did you guys use for your timeline?

Hi there, I am excited to join this group, and looking forward to meeting others, who have recently filed their k1  and hear their stories! We filed on the 20th of June and received our NOA1 on the 27th. I am from Germany and my fiance is in the Army,  currently stationed in VA. I just joined this website, but I would love to chat to others, and get to know their stories 😌 good luck to everyone with their visas!!

Hey Leah!! My fiancé was in the Army,  stationed in Nuremberg!! Visited him there a couple times. If you ever want to chat my DMs are open :)

I understand and no harm done. I just that no one will chime in if it is in some other language then English. If you every find a topic that you think should be moved there is a "report post" (see example below) in the upper right hand corner of the post. Select it and ask that it be moved and the MOD will move it for you.

    Noted. Thank you!

To better conform to the VJ TOS it would be a curtesy to others that you use English in the forums except for the country specific forums where generally the use of that country's language is appropriate and encouraged to be used. Using a language other than English in the general forums handicaps others from learning from your knowledge as offered in any reply from you. If you want to post both English and your native language that would be considered good common etiquette.

If you would like to converse between others who are of the same language there is a great tool in the Personal Messaging segment on VJ. Choose the person's name from their profile and then look at the top middle of the next page that you land on. You will see the word "message". Select it and there you are now in a private conversation between you and the other person. You can also, draw in others to your conversation by "adding them" or "inviting them" with the tool just above the message box. Thank you.

My apologies. Thought the topic was going to be moved to its country specific forum anyway so I thought it wouldn’t do any harm to reply in spanish.

This post actually reinforces that the goal is just getting to America.

Agreed. It sounds more like a personal issue that you both need to solve, and therefore we cannot help whatsoever. Coming here with the issue just sounds like the only thing bothering you is the fact that you can’t get into America. Try bringing her to your country. If the ultimate goal is to be together, it really doesn’t matter where.

Does it take into account the beneficiaries country? Because I see a few on here who got their NOA1 after others but their estimate for NOA2 is a week or 2 sooner 🧐

I was going to ask that.. Because my estimate says September 19-22 but other people who got a NOA1 earlier than me have later dates. Not complaining but  curious as to why!

You can check by calling 1-866-459-78221-866-459-7822 FREE. From there you will be prompted to enter the 11 digit number of your money order, the dollar amount, and the 6 digit post office code. All of these numbers are on the receipt that you hopefully kept (the smaller part you were left with after you tore off and mailed in the larger part).

After you have done this, the automated fellow will tell you that the number you have entered either "Matches" or "Does Not Match" their records. If it says that it "matches" that means that the money order you are asking about WAS NOT CASHED, and if it says "Does Not Match", that means WAS CASHED!

Again, "matches" = NOT CASHED, and "does not match" = CASHED.

*If you are having trouble finding your numbers on the receipt, you can look at this pic as an example: https://www.swgloballlc.com/images/money_order2.jpg

In the example the 11 digit number is: 18366885775 and the 6 digit post office number is: 060190. Just replace these numbers with the ones on your receipt.*

Thank you for the info!! Just called and unfortunately they said it matches. Don’t think it’ll get cashed til next week... Hoping it does asap 🤞🏼

  9. Hi there!

Was wondering If sending a money order from a postal office works? This page confuses me: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/uscis-updates-fee-payment-system-used-field-offices

Even though it says that they only updated the payment system and got rid of money orders for "Field Offices" (I assume paying in person), I want to make sure that sending a money order from a Postal office still works. I'm assuming it does since it says so on the K-1 USCIS page. Thank you!
