Q&Y reacted to Basil123 in February 2020 AOS Filers
It's been a good day, guys!
I just got off the phone with a lovely tier 2 officer who informed me my biometrics appointment was scheduled for 9/28! Finally some movement! Meanwhile my senator's office called today saying they'll try to squeeze me in sooner, due to my emergency travel and a pending job offer. We'll see what happens, but for now I'm very excited!
So I know its been asked before, but how long did you guys have to wait from when the appointment was scheduled to receiving the notice in the mail?

It’s crazy how many of us from February are still waiting for our biometrics appointments and then USCIS schedules many of us appointments we don’t even need (which slows things down even more!)

Have seen this happen a few times now, best thing would be to go! Or seek help via congress folks. The thing is that the officer might/might not note that you are not going to attend the appt as you already have the card and that might cascade to a different avalanche altogether.

My original was mar 18th as well, and my biometrics done last month was also code 3, only for i485, i765, but it applied to i131. I got my combo card 5 days after my biometrics. I think you will also get it pretty soon.

EB AOS. PD in summer 2018. I'm a February 2020 I-485 filer. It took 190 days filing to approval

Hey guy, just a quick update that my expedite request got denied due to missing biometrics - big surprise. I know we all were expecting that, but thought I'd let you know still.
I also just got off the phone with a lawyer, who said there's nothing they can do to speed up the process. Sigh.
I'm so excited that things have been moving along for so many here! It does make me feel like my case just got lost or forgotten though. I can't believe I have had no updates since mid-March. No approvals, no bios, nothing. I'm starting to worry that I may be an outlier who literally has to wait those 28-37 months... 😔

Q&Y got a reaction from INNSU09 in February 2020 AOS Filers
Finally received my biometrics appointment notice for next week.
It is for i-485 and i-765 code 3.
My original biometrics was mar 18.
Location: San Diego.
I have submitted e-request, sent my original appointment notice back with check on request for rescheduling 2 weeks ago, and I have asked for help from congressman.
I don't know which one helped me get the appointment. Hope all Feb filers get their bio soon. It has been so unfair for Feb filers.

Ugggg that is so stressful! We don't have our rescheduled appointment yet, and this is exactly what I feared --we are getting into the appointments for September. Let's hope for the best, but these could end up being useless. Or could end up putting us AGAIN at the end of the line when reschedules take a back seat to new appointments again. I really, really, really , really hope we are wrong about this and it turns out great.

Alrighty. Got to the post office 10 minutes before closing and spent 30 bucks for express mail. Fingers crossed, guys 🤞
Also, concerning those 180 days that someone mentioned. I tried researching that and could only find rules concerning asylum related EAD cases? Don't know if it applies to every application?

WELL, REALLY NOT SURE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE.
I don't think I will ever forgive myself for not walking into every single ASC office in the area in March. Our March biometrics apt was three days after we got the biometrics appointment in the mail. And I got lazy and didn't walk us into one in those three days before our scheduled appointment. It's only a couple days, what could change? And then the first shutdown. TWO DAYS before our appointment. So no appointment. And then February filers get screwed because our "reschedules" are done after the "new schedules" of May, June July filers.
And then every day talking to tier 2 or well-meaning tier 1 who reads from a script, or our Congressional office, or to the wall.
Pavlovian dogs; we sprint to the mailbox at the first sound of the postman. For weeks.
And now, August 13. Zero. Zip. Zilch. And Congress recesses for August without and agreement, so USCIS furloughs start in two weeks. Even if her biometrics appoointment comes in the mail next week, it will be for a date AFTER the ASC offices shut down again.
No job. She can't see her only nephew who now is a year old. No seeing her 76 year old dad.
Forlorn. Dejected. Pounded to the earth and trampled. Done fighting. Crushed and just over it.

Q&Y reacted to Ihatebaseboards in February 2020 AOS Filers
It is marriage based to USC. My EAD/AP got approved on 7/22 with no biometrics. When I called USCIS they said that the card cannot be printed w/o them. I was also informed that my biometrics were not pulled from anywhere. We’ll see when the card comes.
I have provided biometrics all my life I think, at consulates for F-1 and H-1B visa stamping, UK visa at DHS office in NY, in airports at POE etc. Tier 2 agents were telling me this does not matter as these were not collected for EAD purpose so they cannot re-use it.
Hope my experience helps someone.

I stated financial loss. There was no new biometric notice eventhough ASC was open since 7/13. My EAD was approved 7/22 but with no biometrics, I was afraid I will be in this black hole with approved EAD and no card. . My work visa expires on October 1 and my husbands colleagues were furloughed and we are afraid he would be next. Our family would face financial hardship if I will lose my job. Thus, in panic mode I asked for I-485 expedite. I have to still respond to them with justification. Coincidentally when my local office emailed me why I need I-485 expedite, my EAD card went to production. I was really “squeaky wheel” and contacted USCIS everyday, requested information from our congressman, contacted Subramanya case lawyers etc. I assume this contributed to EAD card production.

US immigration services set to furlough two-thirds of its workers after coronavirus stimulus talks fail
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2020/08/11/covid-19-stimulus-deal-us-immigration-services-plans-furloughs/3344178001/
USCIS (I'm sure not all of them; the guys high up there and the boss of them) hasn't given up to go into furlough and to stop all the processes!

Q&Y reacted to TDB in February 2020 AOS Filers
I am in the same boat (approved but no biometrics). I did manage to speak to a tier 2 yesterday and they just provided the same information as the tier 1. Basically said there was nothing they could do and that I had to wait. I pointed out that I only missed by biometrics by 2 days and that my ASC has been open for 3 weeks now so they clearly aren't scheduling in order - she didnt really have an answer for that, fobbed me off reading from her script and then pretty much said good bye and hung up.
I also just tried the e-verify thing too and it wouldn't produce the questions for me either. I was under the impression you had to wait for EAD in hand though 😕

I called USCIS on Friday asking to speak to a Tier 2 supervisor as a few of you have done already. He told me to call at 8 am to do that. I called them this morning and I just got called back about 4 hours later.
The supervisor was Sanchez and she couldn’t do anything about scheduling an appointment.
Question 1: Can I schedule a biometrics appointment and I explained my reasons.
Answer 1: No we can’t schedule appointments you will have to wait for an appointment letter from the ASC.
Question 2: Do you have a time estimate for when I will receive the letter?
Answer 2: Unfortunately we don’t know when you will receive a letter due to the centers just reopening in late July.
Nothing we can do unfortunately.
