That's good to know. Thanks for sharing. I was hoping our check would be cashed within a week but now I know it can take waaaay longer than that... Also, I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the form. It sucks that this process has so many tricky parts. I hope everything goes well for you guys now.

    Go Brazil! 😆

@OhWow You are welcome! Yes now you know. Yes this process has so many tricky part, but I'm grateful for visa journey to helps us get through it. I hope all goes well for you guys too! Vai Brasil! :)

@PoohPiglet has your check been cashed yet? Our AOS was received on 7th August and we also didn't include I-944.... I keep checking our banking app! 😬

Our AOS was received on August 11th and we also didn't include the I-944. My credit card has not been charged yet. It is going to take sometime because I was in the July AOS thread and for alot of people it took like 3 weeks to a month before the were charged. It was originally received on July 27 but we just got rejected due to outdated version of I-485 form. I had the 7/15/19 version but the newer version is 10/15/19. Please everyone make sure you have the all of the updated forms.

I’m sorry to hear you go rejected, hopefully they respond faster to the resubmission since this is the second time around!

    That’s amazing news!

Yes I hope so. The only thing is my wife's K1 visa expired on Aug. 6th on the letter it said that since my submission was rejected, it is not considered properly filed. Do anyone know if they would accept my AOS packet since my wife's visa expired yesterday?

    Hi July filers.

Joining you as I am submitting my entire AOS packet for the FOURTH TIME. I had 3 rejections stating incorrect fees. Spoke with Tier 2 agent yesterday who confirmed $1225 was indeed the correct fee and my packets should not have been returned. (Originally submitted in MARCH, then MAY, then JUNE)

Hoping 4th time is the charm?!

I just got rejected and received my AOS packet today due to outdated version of I-485 form. I had the 7/15/19 version but the newer version is 10/15/19. Please everyone make sure you have the all of the updated forms. I want to make sure I understand this correctly, with the Public Charge Rule, do I still need to include my I-944 form since my AOS was received on 7/27/20?

I used USPS and had the same issue. My package delivery status was similar to yours.

I filed a case with USPS and they started an investigation. At the end,  I got the following message:

"Our records show your item was last scanned Arrival at Unit (60680) listed on a firm sheet for the delivery to USCIS on July 18, 2020.

We contacted the delivery unit and was informed the item has been picked up.  Immigration has a courier service that comes to our facility to pick up their mail twice a day Sunday - Friday, there is no delivery scan because the firm sheet that the item was listed on was not scanned at the time of pick up. If the firm sheet is not scanned tracking will not update. Firm sheets should be scanned and cleared by the end of the business day. Also, it may take 15 to 30 days for Immigration to send a notification of receipt"

Hence, the package was actually pickup up. I am still waiting for official notification from USCIS.

@AlexFB1907 Wow thank you so much for sharing! I was about to do the same and that is good to know that the courier service pick up my package! Now, the wait begins but I'm glad they got our AOS package! Keep us updated once you get your notification for USICS and I will do the same!

    07/09 - AOS packet sent

    07/13 - Arrived to USCIS

    07/28 - Check cashed

07/30 - SMS with the receipt number

08/01 - NOA1's in the mail! (It probably arrived yesterday or a couple days ago but we were out)

    :D

Wow congrats @Aeiou1357! Did anyone use USPS when they sent their AOS packets off? I sent my AOS packet with USPS on July 24th and when I tracked it, the status is "In-Transit". It will delivered to the Post Office PO Box on July 27th but I don't think anyone picked it up yet. Have anyone else has this happened to them?

Be sure to double check for the current fees as fees do sometimes increase, so please check. Additionally check the forms as listed above i.e., current version and or edition date, there has been changes to various forms since February 24, 2020. Consider sending tax transcripts instead of the 1040, and W2's. Also consider preparing a cover letter for each form in addition to the main cover letter.

Make sure you send long form birth certificates and not the short form. IMPORTANT: Form I-944 has quite a bit of supporting documents that go with it depending on your situation, be sure to read the instructions for this form carefully. Many people have gotten a RFE for this form so be sure to pay CLOSE attention when filing it out. Hope this helps in your preparation of your AOS. When in doubt ask questions.

    Hello AOS Filers,

I'm going to submit my wife's AOS packet on Friday. I'm just waiting on one letter from TransUnion about the "No Credit Record". Hopefully it comes today or tomorrow. I will post again once it is submitted. @Briberry thank you for the checklist! I'm so glad to have this done!

Hi guys! I just joined, and I’m trying to get my AOS package - so far it’s been a few days and I’m already a bit lost. Thanks for writing about the credit score, I was able to request the letter stating that I don’t have a credit score. Now I do have a few questions and sorry in advance if they are a bit stupid 🙈 - 1. do I apply with my new name or my old name (I have already gotten a military ID with my new last name). 2. I got form Ss5 to apply for a social security number, but now I read somewhere in this forum that you get it with AOS? Do I not need to apply for it myself? 3. About the Highschool diploma thing - do you need to hand in all diplomas you have received or just the previous ones (e.g. for me my Bachelors degree)? Thank you guys in advance I really appreciate any help! I’m living in Virginia now, and I don’t really have any friends around so it helps to chat!!

    Hey @Leah88! I definitely understand it's alot.

    1. Apply with both. On the forms, they ask you for your current legal name and other names you have used since birth.

    2. I would get it with the AOS. My wife applied for her SSN and due to COVID-19 it's been held up. You apply for it on form I-765.

    3. Yes you will need copies of your high school diploma and college degree. You will attach it with form I-944.

    I hope this helps!

I sent a mail with the form for requesting credit score. I explained I needed to proof non existing credit score for migration purposes. I also wasn't able to get SSN due to Covid. I received a letter two weeks later and used it as my evidence.

The I-765 is Ok, they haven't updated it.

    Luck!!!

@Aeiou1357 Thanks I appreciate it! I'm going to do the same for my wife.

    Hello July AOS Filers,

For the I-944 form supporting documents, my wife provided a "Lack of credit score report explanation" letter explaining why she don't have a credit score. We wanted to add a screenshot showing proof, but she is not able to obtain her SS number/card due to COVID-19. I just wanted to see what everyone else is doing for this part.

Also, form I-765 expired on 5/30/2020 and I couldn't find an updated form. I read on the USCIS website that this is the most updated form. Have anyone found an updated form? Or is this still validate?

@BriberryThank you so much for creating this thread! I'm waiting for a couple more docs too and hope I will be ready to send mine out before the end of July! My wife had to redo her medical exam here and they are taking so long with the documents.
