BRP2019 got a reaction from LaceyAdam in Traveling While i130 is Pending
Since Feb 2018 I traveled regularly to the USA from Canada . Noa1 for the i130 is May 2018 I never had a problem traveling tell the i130 was approved and it was sent to the Department of state . The boarder Guard asked me are u coming back u sure I think u will come back u wont screw up your I 130 by not coming back and really grilled me if I was coming back lol. He just about didnt let me across which was super wierd . I been crossing at that boarder crossing since this i130 began one of the same guards to . We had many chats before . Now I got the nvc case number and this traveling back and worth is just about over

BRP2019 got a reaction from Apple Bee in Reuters:Denials of U.S. immigrant visas skyrocket after little-heralded rule change
To funny some comments on here income thresholds are to low for the spouse to prove on the affidavit of support. Remember alot of ppl that came to this country came with nothing . And made a better life for themselves . Person like me I am use to making 80 k plus a year In Canada. state where my wife lives the wages are alot lower than what I am use to . To make 60 k a year somone needs to make at lest 30 a hr 40 hr a week it's not going to happen for a majority of ppl .

Did you file taxes Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately?
If separately, then there's no issue. You didn't earn the income so you don't need to claim anything.
If jointly, then you would claim the income (usually under Other Income in popular tax software programs). Then you can likely exclude all that income via the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion and/or Foreign Tax Credit (assuming there is a tax treaty in place).
