  1. Hi All

On the day of my interview, my husband stayed outside because the letter didn't said he has to come with me and when I asked in the entrance they told me no. When the USCIS officer called me in, we went inside to her office and she asked me if I brought any new documents/photos to add to what she already had. Then she ask where is my husband, I told her outside and she said he needed to come in and asked for his phone number and called him to come inside, meanwhile she asked basic personal info like full name, DOB, SSN and what was new in our relationship since I became a permanent resident and what were the plans for the future, meanwhile she also look through the pictures and documents I brought. When My husband came in she asked him the same questions she previously asked me and everything matched. Then she said I was approved and that I could apply for citizenship soon. In general she was very nice.

The extra documents I brought were:

    - Recent pictures since I became a conditional resident.

    - Wedding albums for both my civil and wedding celebration.

    - Mortgage statements and dead for our new home

    - New of car title/Insurance

    - Job benefit/insurance cards with both our names

    - Utility bills

    -Christmas cards

-Mail directed to both of us

Hope you get it soon. Can you keep me/us updated on when you get it and what the instructions are? E.g. if the interview date is already given or whatever :)

    Hi

I finally got my appointment for January 18th. The letter explains Covid protocols what and who to bring. Something strange, in the section "who should come with you" doesn't say I have to bring my husband. He will go with me anyway just to be safe.

I'm currently in the process of closing on a house, and the mortgage company is saying my greencard (I-551) is expired. I provided them the I-797 notice saying it's extended 18 months. They can't seem to wrap their head around this, which I find odd seeing as it's a nationally recognized (large) mortgage company. They keep insisting on a valid I-551.

What do I do in this scenario? Can I ask USCIS for a temporary I-551 stamp for this reason (I'm in NY state)? Or do I keep fighting with the mortgage company / underwriter?

Any help or similar experience appreciated!

    Thanks.

    Hi Even

I had the same problem. I wrote a detailed letter explaining my whole process and what the I-797 was and attached USCIS webpage info on the extension and they accepted it.

Be hyper-vigilant about this. We moved during our I-485 application and made sure to file the address change form. I even called USCIS to verify they got my new address.

The interview notice arrived at our new house with a big yellow 'reroute' sticker from USPS. It was addressed to our old apartment, and fortunately I had set up mail forwarding with USPS. Our attorney also got a copy.

I mentioned this at the interview and the officer told us USCIS uses "about 5 different systems that don't talk to each other" (literally his words). All other communications (e.g. the I485 approval notice, the actual green card) made it to our new address. But apparently the interview scheduler is on a different system that doesn't always sync up with the other systems.

Set up informed delivery. Make sure you set up mail forwarding with USPS. You may even want to contact the person that lives at your old address now and let them know to contact you if any mail from USCIS accidentally goes to there address. It's a major PITA to deal with a missed interview letter.

BTW regarding the wait time - could be a few months, could be 2+ years. It depends on the workload of the field office unfortunately.

Yes, informed delivery is a must! My interview appointment was scheduled to arrive on saturday and it didn't.  Hopefully today🤞

I changed my address recently and when i got the biometrics appt it went to the old address (I requested to change it previously), so I called USCIS and they updated it.

My interview appointment is coming to the right address now.

    NBC Service Center here.

Got the biometrics letter yesterday with the appointment scheduled for the end of this month.

Will the big scary let's-verify-if-this-couple-is-legit interview happen at the same time as this biometrics appointment? Or will we have to wait for another letter that schedules us for another appointment?

Wife entered on a CR-1 visa. She was interviewed at a US Embassy in Japan, but there was no AOS because it was never a K-1/2 Fiancee visa.

No, It will happen after, they wait for an interview is long for MSC and think also NBC.

Got my Biometrics letter yesterday scheduled for this month. Case was received  on 2/19/2021 . MSC service centre.

I though MSC was pretty dead slow.  or Maybe a long wait after this 😄

    Hi Kayee! Great news

I still waiting on my biometrics appointment and my case was received on 2/10/21🥴. I read somewhere that MSC times are so long that you end up doing Naturalization at the same time. Time will tell...

Hi all! Thanks for all your contributions to the google sheet! VisaJourney is such a helpful community!

Once everyone has gotten their NOA1, I will reduce "sheet maintenance work" to once a week.

Remember to update when you get your biometrics letter! (Don't stress, not the time yet 😂)

Thank you! for creating it and for all the improves!! This is a more realiable way to track timelines and processing times than the USCIS webpage processing times. 😊

So we sent my wife’s I-751 back on February 11 and it was received the next day on February 12. After a month and some days we hadn’t gotten anything back, so I called USCIS a couple days ago. They said because I sent it to Phoenix and it was a lockbox, that I should wait 60 days instead of 30. I’m reading everyone’s post here saying that their check has finally been cashed in (I used a money order instead of a check). Did I send it to the correct place, or is there anything I did wrong?

Phoenix lockbox it's the correct place. It probably will get cashed this week 🤞🤞

I also sent the Package with the G-1145 form almost a month ago but they never notified us of packet received. I think they are skipping this step and we are all waiting for NOA at this time, which is taking about a month.

Like our fellow member said: New normal unfortunately. lol

    Hi Amadita

They are sending the notification either the same day or a couple days after you receive the NOA, so G-1145 is worthles, you will know they started working inyour process when they cash the check or charge the credit card.

My husband’s 2 year green card expired in January. We applied for the 10 year card in October. We received the I-797 that said that it, along with the green card, is legal proof of his status for an additional 18 months, until July 2022.

We are in the process of buying a house. The mortgage company has asked twice for his passport with the I-551 stamp. We gave them a copy of the expired GC as well as the I-797 stating he has legal status for quite some time. We explained that this is the document that proves his status, as USCIS doesn’t want tons of people having to come get I-551 stamps.

Are we correct in insisting these are his legal documents? What can we do if they keep insisting he needs a stamp?

    Hi

I am also in the process of buying a house but unlike you I haven't receive my I-797 extension yet, and my green card expires in May, and they asking me for the new green card. I wrote a letter of explanation detailing all the process, I'm waiting to hear from them. We are supposed to close on March 23rd and I'm getting very anxious and worried. 😩
