Update. I received a pdf notice this morning. My oath date is Oct. 25. It is earlier than I expect. I originally expect it will come within 60 days. Your updates will come soon I believe. Blessings for everyone.

Omg, that is next Monday!! wow, they really act fast when they want to.  This gives us hope that one day we will hear some news 🙂

I made an inquiry through my senator and got a response that my case was under extended review. Made an inquiry through my congressman and got a response that my case was within normal processing. I got an email from USCIS "we have taken an action on your case" on 10/13/21. I checked my case online but no action was taken. I called several agent and I was told that the only activity on my case was the completion of my interview on 10/12/21. I don't know what that means.

I got the same message after my interview and did not see any action, I think the system does that to "log in" that you actually had the interview.  What I am confused about is: if your interview was on 10/12/21, why did you make an inquiry? was the case outside processing time, meaning you file maybe last year?

My status finally updated this morning, I cannot believe it. My case is just like the case we discussed. Waiting for 5.5 months since interview, 8th floor. My filing date was March 2020.

I’ve tried to contact the local office, senator, congressman, and Ombudsman; filed an online inquiry; wrote to the White House, but I haven’t heard anything back. Maybe they are still in the process now.

It’s finally our turn. Almost there. Blessings.

    Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number XXXX, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Wow, CONGRATULATIONS @Moradesk!!! What a pleasant surprise.  So, if your filing date was March 2020 it means it took more than 19 months... what a journey.  Happy for you, let us know when you get the oath date.

Still waiting for mine, I am at about 6 months since interview.

I think so. I got the oath email last week(after a little over 120days), It is scheduled for 10/27.

Just for awareness, I didn't do any SRs(except for 1 in the very beginning) or Senator inquiries. I am not suggesting that SRs or other inquiries don't help, but wanted to mention it as a data point.

Thanks for the tip, I appreciate this feedback.  I have been reading a lot here and other forums and it does seem like the SRs or Senators inquiries do little to noting (maybe with some rare exceptions).  It is just more of a waiting game.  I already did my inquiries, now it is up to them to get the case moving, I try not to stress anymore about it.  When the time comes it will come...

I checked my online status today and it says "Oath Ceremony will be scheduled".

Now, I do not know if this happened in the normal course of events unfolding or if it is a result of a mail/letter I sent to the National Benefits Center inquiring them about the status of my case. I sent the letter based on the advice I received from the USCIS representative over the phone a few months ago.

I still won't be believing this whole thing until I actually get my naturalization certificate in my hands. That is how tense I still am. The oath ceremony day cannot come sooner.

I wish everyone else all the very best and I will update this thread with any new developments on my side.

Thanks for updating and Congratulations on your oath notice, wow it was about time.  You are one step closer, as you said it is not done till it is done!

Thank you share about your story

I had one misdemeanor criminal conviction

that is more difficult case than you

we were almost same day interview!

You are also in Los Angeles County field office?

    in some parts

    America is not developed

    and Very backward.

No, I am in Denver.  Totally agree with you, it all seems very strange...

  7. I have been re-reading this entire thread.  So, any updates on the pending cases? @Soccer.Player(I know you got an RFE, did that get resolved?), @Neickers, @hxk, @oriana77, @anakai, @leonidas_alexan, @bunkx, @judefabulous, @robot11... not sure if I forgot anybody.

So, on my end, only one update: after 120 days I contacted my Senator.  They contacted my field office (in Denver) to inquiry about my case.  About 2-3 weeks later they received an answer from USCIS stating that my A-file remains locked at one of the Federal Records Center.  Apparently many centers are still closed because of COVID, so they can't retrieve those files for review, thus causing the delay.  Anybody else has heard of this?  to me it seems unbelievable that they cannot retrieve a file in a timely manner (4-5 months).  So, at this point I think I am stuck waiting.

I was curious if anyone else has made any progress.

  8. I have been following your updates @angelostuartand @Moradesk Keep them coming 🙂

My case is a bit similar (in terms of timing, no criminal record in my case), had the interview on 4-20-21, decision could not be made.  Still waiting as of today.  I contacted my Senator and after a couple of weeks, USCIS responded them that my A-file is held at the Federal Records Center.  Apparently many centers are still closed because of COVID, so they can't retrieve those files for review, thus causing the delay.   Have you heard anything similar?

Hello everyone, please see my signature for timeline...

My husband had his n-400 interview August 26th. We arrived at Federal Plaza NYC at 10:30 for his 10:55 appointment, they told us to come back 10 minutes later as you can't arrive move than 15 minutes before. We got to room 8-100 and the security guard told me I cannot go inside with him, only the petitioner is allowed in. So I sat in the park across from Federal Plaza for FOUR HOURS. They took him in the room at 2:15 and he was out by 2:45.

He passed the civics test with flying colors. We put together a humongous binder with copies of everything we have together, utilities, lease, insurance, 401K, bank statements, 150 photos from 2017-2021, wedding album etc. He didn't ask for ANY documentation, literally not even one document. However, we didn't include my W2's (even though he had tax returns for the last 3 years) and his *first* 2 year greencard (he only took his 10 year gc with him). The officer said he needs to come back on Tuesday (today) 8AM, to deliver the remaining documents. My husband went there this morning, hand delivered the documents to the officer, was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The officer then called his cell when my husband got in the car asking about my W2's, my company is HQ'd in Washington DC however my office is in NYC so he wanted to clarify why the W2 had Washington DC- so my husband explained why and then the officer said ok no problem thank you for the explanation "we will mail you a notice with the decision"....

And the wait begins.. I'm so bummed out- i thought this would all be behind us but unfortunately we have to wait and see what they decide. I don't foresee them not approving his application, can anyone think of a reason? I would assume the officer would let him know if there were any issues, right?

It is weird that they asked about the W2 forms, but not surprising.  It is still early though, you might get an update soon, the majority of these cases resolve in a couple of weeks. If not, then you will join this group unfortunately.  It seems USCIS is looking for excuses to lengthen the process sometimes...

Thanks so much for this info! Sounds like I'll have to try to force myself to go with the flow :) And I appreciate the fair warning/reminder that it might not be as quick and straightforward as we'd all hope- crossing my fingers you get a thumbs up and oath ceremony SOON!

Yes, unfortunately there is not much info about the Denver office here (see snippet of timelines for this year).  It seems they are quick at scheduling interviews, but then they take their time, at least on my case.

Sadly yes. I think I might just have to reschedule my flight if I don't get to do the oathtaking on the same day. Thanks for the advice! ^_^

I friend of mine (who filed in Jan too) had a trip coming up at the end of July.  She had her interview last week and she was offered the possibility to take the oath.  She asked the officer if she could schedule it for after her return from the trip and she did.  So that is a possibility, you might ask, or maybe the oath won't be right away.  I would wait on scheduling your trip till you know what's going to happen after the interview.
