    Hello everyone!

Great news! On 1/31/23 the USCIS website updated to show that my husband's green card had been printed. On 2/1, it updated again to show that our petition was approved without an interview! His card was shipped on 2/3 and we received it yesterday, 2/6. Our service center was Nebraska.

We haven't applied for his citizenship and probably won't for a while, so I just wanted to update everyone with our timeline without the N-400 application.

To say we are relieved is a total understatement, it's such a huge weight of our shoulders to finally have a 10 year permanent residency card. The impending expiration of our extension letter was starting to cause some issues and with a trip to the UK coming up in May I was starting to freak out!

Did anyone else get differing estimates from VJ ranging anywhere from February 16th to May 15th? I had to stop opening them since they were freaking me out haha.

Anyway, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!! I wish all of you good luck and hope that your approvals are on their way! 💞

    Thank you for your response.

My husband’s credit card details has been stolen, after he applied I-130. He changed new card and tried call USCIS to change new credit card number.

But they told my husband it’s still not start process so they couldn’t find my I-130 documents.  After 2 months later USCIS send back all documents to him.

he has new PCS order in next August,  we’re consult with legal officer now.

    that's really really unfortunate.

Hope thing will go smoother this time.  I assume you are on his PCS order when he left last year? Don't forget to call USCIS to expedite your case once they received it and assigned case number.  and please do keep all the receipt (medical exams/shots, visa fees, application fee etc)  so you can fill travel voucher when everything's done, at least you will get some money back.

Curious to know how you got your fees reimbursed? My husband is active duty stationed in the states and I am currently abroad. Trying to get over there asap.

Military will reimburse all visa fees for spouse if that's REQUIRED to PCS to stateside.

For me, I was stationed in Japan, we got married there.  I can't bring my wife over to US without valid visa,  a visa is required in this case. Once she arrived to my duty station, I simply just go to finance and fill her PCS travel voucher, including all visa fees and travel costs.

  5. I am sorry to hear this. why was the first application got declined?

I married my Japanese wife 1 day before I left Japan, once I arrived on my new station, I amended my order to put her on my order. Tthen applied for CR-1 visa while I'm back in the states, not only I got all my application expedited, all visa fees as also reimbursed.

See my previous posts about expedition. Hope that may help.  Ask your husband get in touch with USCIS for expedite, then ask U.S. Embassy Tokyo see if they can expedite as well.

    hi there

I am also waiting for my green card, I entered US on 12th Dec2019..been almost 1.5months now....how much time it took for ur green card to arrive? and how did u followup with them ? any email address or site or anything will be helpful...

    thanks

    and congrats for ur GC

rest assure..my spouse entered on October 4, and just received hers now. took a little more than 3 months to get it on hand.

however, I actually did followup with them during the new year timeframe, I do not have email, I only sent them message through myUSCIS message.

did you just email your corresponding embassy directly?

do you advise we do both? email NVC and embassy or would that cause too much confusion?

that's exactly what I did. just email the embassy..

And why not, just do both, they definitely have some kind of internal network talk to each other, one thing to know for sure is that they won't slow down you application.

I called USCIS and they lodged the complain for the delay. Reply will be in 30 days.

Got email today my status update email and text! Hope you get yours soon.

    email read as”

We have approved your Form OS155A, IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION, Receipt Number IOEXXXXXXX. On January 20, 2020, we ordered your card to be produced blah blah blah

  9. Anyone entered US via CR-1 visa on October received their green card yet?

I am starting to wonder if that because my wife entered and exit US within a week.

Long story short, my wife entered US when she got the VISA, and stamped on her passport.  However, she still have something to taken care of back home, so she went back about a week in the US, will that cause the delay of the green card since she is not in the US right now? She will come back before 6-month rule,  I was thinking if I can get GC before she come back,  I can go visit her and give her the GC then travel back to US together.

Should I be worried or just patiently waiting for it to come?

just a quick heads up. we have received an email today that our reason to expedite USCIS process has been approved and that we will hear from them again within 45 days. I am over the moon!!

    Nice! And congrats!
    And don’t stop there,

After you get a notice that your document left USCIS, Start contact NVC and embassy.
You have to request expedite on every stage.

Hello there, may I ask where to exactly you sent that letter? The USCIS service centre that your I-130 was assigned to? We are trying to expedite as well, did an expedite request over the phone and received a service request number but have not heard back from them... thanks in advance and kind regards, ina

hello! hope this reply isn't too late~ Didn't really come here that often after my CR1 visa is issued.

I was assigned to the Texas service center, and that's where I sent the letter to.  I requested expedite over the phone, and few minutes later I received an email asking for the document with a servicing center address, and that's where I sent the letter.

You had IOE and your SV is Texas, me too. Have you gotten approved, if so how long did it take for them to give you an NOA2?

    yes and yes..

it probably only took them 1 month to receive my NOA2...I have full timeline on my signature and the actual VJ timeline.

if you have question about anything else. feel free to ask me anything.

So I just found the out that there is a place for the Swedish embassy to schedule an appointment myself.

I did uploaded all my documents last night, that they asked me to scan into the CEAC.

How was your experience with scheduling your own appointment?

Is it okay, when they haven't even accepted the documents?

its pretty fast, after filling out online form, I got an email which has available dates on it.

I picked one date,  another email came later saying the appointment was confirmed.  And I have no documents ready at that time, just make sure you have everything on the interview date.

  14. 5 minutes ago, AlexDRavn92 said:

    Thank you :)

Do you know how i schedule the interview myself?

Because in the mail they said they will schedule it when they receive my documents.

But online on CEAC i can't find anywhere to schedule an interview.

Not sure about your specific embassy..My spouse is processed through Embassy Tokyo and the main website have the interview schedule page, I just input the information the successfully get a date for interview on the email in a few days..

it never hurt to call and ask your local embassy...if you wait for you documents then schedule the interview date, it’s gonna be another long wait depends on the embassy

    Hello again.

I just received the checklist from the embassy, and it says that there is some documents I need to scan into the CEAC before the interview.

So did you get your interview date with the checklist email, or when do I receive the actual date?

Or is it when I have scanned all the required documents into the system?

    _______

    (EDIT POST)

Nevermind my quesions! :) (I just want to get this proces done, and I am becoming anxious).

At the very bottom of the very long email, it says "please let us know by responding to this email, when you have all the documents ready, so you can be scheduled for an interview".

    haha, no problem at all.

yeah, the email from Embassy should give you all the information you need to proceed to next step.

you can actually schedule interview date already, even though you don’t have everything ready. Just have to get the documents before interview and send to them for scanning purpose.

    Rexxx....

Question- On your timeline it says "I-130 Called for Expedite (requested accepted)  ". Does this mean that you called and got your I-130 expedited for some reason? Im trying to ascertain if you got bumped in front of everyone for a legit expedited reason or for the IOE.

that's something I want to find out as well.

I did call in for expedite my case, some military related reason.  but USCIS never email me back or call me saying my case has been expedite, USCIS system didn't even text me about the updated case status, until I called in after a week, they told me its already been approved and unable to give more information since the case is out of their hands on the way to NVC

Then when my case was on the way to NVC, NVC told me its because my case is in IOE, that's why it was faster.

So I have no idea which one helped case, can be either one, or both?

So we submitted the I 130 last week Friday 08/01/19 through lawyers office, just saw that the check was cashed by USCIS chicago lockbox yesterday, but I haven't received an email, text or any notice in the mail. Do i need to call USCIS or just sit and wait? Thanks

    it takes a while..just wait.

    Hello;

I send my I-130 for my spouse via USPS last week Friday. I got a text message yesterday saying that my application was received, and a IOE receipt number was sent to me saying that the official receipt notice (Form I-797) to follow in the mail. Does this mean my case was approved?  What should I expect.

it means your case was "accepted", now the wait begins..depends on which service center USCIS sent your case to, the time-frame varies.

Wait, why do you think you can't track the status of your case online? If anything it seems like receiving the IOE gives you another place to track it, right? or maybe I'm mis-understanding.

Anyone can track the status of their case here- https://egov.uscis.gov

And those of us who've received the IOE NOA1 (with the instructions to create an account) are able to create an account, and track here- https://myaccount.uscis.gov

Hmmm, that’s strange. I was indeed able to add my case to my online account using the code they mailed me when I received my NOA1, however, there is no status update or whatnot under my account, even until today I can’t see my application status even though it’s already been approved.
