  1. You are still messing things up when you describe your case, talking about ”him" being interviewed, when, from what I've understood so far, you are the husband/foreigner/beneficiary/person that will be interviewed. If you are all over the place when posting, it might get worse during interview.
  2. ”How do I transfer my Immigrant Visa case from one embassy or consulate to another? If you would like to transfer your Immigrant Visa (IV) case to another embassy or consulate, please follow the steps below: -If your case is at a U.S. embassy or consulate, contact the potential gaining U.S. embassy or consulate in writing to request a transfer of your case. Please include a justification for the request. If you are not a resident of that country, specify that in your request. -If your petition is being processed at the National Visa Center (NVC), contact the NVC to request the transfer. NVC will transfer cases to another IV processing post if parties provide a written request along with the address in the requested country and the proof of eligibility (citizenship/legal residency in the requested country or other documentation). This can be provided at https://nvc.state.gov/inquiry. In limited circumstances, NVC may need to contact you for additional eligibility requirements. Note that transferring your case might not result in immediate processing as cases are processed in order based on the date the case became documentarily qualified. -If you are requesting a transfer for a K Visa, the receiving Embassy or Consulate has the discretion to approve or deny the acceptance of a K visa application from an applicant outside the consular district. Contact the potential gaining U.S. embassy or consulate in writing to request a transfer of your case and include the reason for the transfer request. If you paid the MRV fee at the original post and the transfer request to a new post is subsequently approved, a new visa fee will be required.” Source: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/national-visa-center/immigrant-visas-processing-general-faqs.html So you would need to wait until the petition is approved by the USCIS.
  3. You need to read on the requirements for self petitioning to evaluate if your case qualifies. https://www.uscis.gov/humanitarian/abused-spouses-children-and-parents Now, I'm curious about two things: 1. You mention "financial benefit". What do you mean by that? 2. Why do you want to move to the US if your marriage is not working out?
  4. Ah, OK, thanks. Thought it was for members. BTW, if I block someone, is it possible not to see the message telling me I blocked them on every post they make?
  5. Someone posted a few months ago an easy guide to file a WoM. Try using the forum's searching tool. I'll do that myself and if I find it, I'll share the link.
  6. What makes you feel you need to pay someone to do so? And particularly that outrageous amount! -IMO-. The instructions from USCIS and the guides here in the forum are so easy to follow. And if you have a specific question, you can ask and the members will be happy to help. I think all these visa services are a waste of time and money and based on what people have shared around the forum, they create problems rather than solve/avoid them.
  7. That's why it is better to ask an agent. If something goes wrong, they can put the blame on someone else. 😁 And thing is there is no set rule; it depends on how crowded the place is, how many CBP officers are working that day, how many planes are arriving at that point and where from, etc.
  8. As @JeanneAdil advices, tell them to just ask an agent to direct them to the proper queue as it varies between airports and even times of the day.
  9. Wonder if the Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center were the ones that found him or it was a member of the public that provided information.
  10. Didn't know that! 😯 How many posts are new members allowed to make?
  11. Thanks so much! Must confess I was ready to wait another year. 😅
  12. Thanks! 🥳 Thanks! We have that very pleasant calmness that comes when something is finally over. And sure, we'll stick around. 😊
  13. I would have charged you half of that to tell you she can't in 3 seconds at most.
  14. You have absolutely everything messed up. You say you applied for the visa but she is the one going for the interview. Then you say ”All these years my husband travel to visit me will go to waste.”. Regardless of gender, things are as follows: US citizen=petitioner Foreigner=tourist visa applicant=spousal visa beneficiary=person that will be interviewed Which one are you?
  15. Agreed with @Mike E Who are you? The husband, the wife, the US citizen, the tourist visa applicant?
  16. If they are second cousins then that is not the reason for denial.
  17. He needs to move to a state that allows first cousin marriages. Otherwise he will never get an immigrant visa for his fiancee/wife.
  18. Thanks! It was indeed about waiting. 😊 It has never been our plan to apply for naturalization. We're fine with just renewing every 10 years and we know it is unlikely that the fees will go down but there is one thing I never lose: hope. 😁 Maybe they will revert back to GCs with no expiration date! 🤣
  19. So, 27 months since we filed for ROC, 17 months after our case was transferred to our local office to be interviewed -instead of being approved like every case around us- and 9 months after our last status update (that showed fingerprints were taken 😑), last Thursday, to very much our surprise, our case was finally approved with no interview and just now, we received the GC. We are still waiting for the approval letter that allegedly was mailed already. Our status still reads "Card was mailed" and we never received updates on the phone or email -which did happen for every status change when we went through AOS-. We actually found out we were approved because we would check the online status from time to time. As for the tracking number, we got it through USPS informed delivery just yesterday. After the initial shock of being transferred for an interview on February 2022 -right after responding to an RFE-, we were not really in any rush, as we received all 3 extension letters -12,24 and 48 months- though alas, we never got to travel with the 48 one. 😅 The wait was more unnerving this week since approval than the more than two years our case was still in process. As soon as we got the delivery notification I ran towards the mailbox and still got to see the mailman leaving -though didn't have the chance to say hello or thank you-. I've checked the card five times already and fortunately everything is correct. Even though we were "fine" with waiting, the idea of still having to go through an interview was very annoying. We're glad they decided in the end not to schedule one and we are still puzzled about why we were transferred to be interviewed in the first place. The whole road since the beginning was a little bumpy and sometimes quite challenging. I personally tend to use even unpleasant experiences as a path for knowledge but in this particular case I basically learnt nothing and if I did, I didn't need to learn it this way. 🤪 We're just glad the wait is finally over and we can share this moment with the forum. We will worry in a little less than 10 years, hoping the fee for renewal goes down (one can dream).
